Found one off the coast of Savannah, Georgia, USA. Coordinates are N 31 56.86 W 80 40.46 If you are familiar with the area, take off from Savannah International (KSAV), follow the Savannah river to Tybee island, then head out due east over the Atlantic. You'll see the platform about 15 miles or so offshore, it's very detailed with a nice helipad.

Anyone having any sound probs when in heavy cloud or weather ?I'm getting all kinds of crackling sounds if Im in heavy weather or cloud. Have no idea why. Any help would be appreciated. Been on vacation, just got back and my pre-ordered copy of FS2004 was here waiting for me! HooRay! :-)Got a question, it may have been answered in an earlier post somewhere, but with so many FS2004 posts already, I did not see it right off. I have not installed FS2004 yet, although I want to, I may wait another day or two and upgrade my Operating system from Windows ME to Windows XP before I do the install. What I am trying to find out is, on which CD for FS2004 is the user manual contained? I would like to extract only that file so that I can read up on FS2004, and also take a copy of just that "file" to my local "copy shop" like Kinkos to get a hard copy print version …

It's become practicaly impossible to post here the past few days. Time consuming, "UserLog-in" again and again and again without success (and yes, I lowered my security setting... not the best solution), goofy happenings after a refresh (whole posts disappear). I can understand the factor of increased traffic, and I read Tom's explanation in the hanger Chat forum. Hi All, Don't want to start a flame war here, and I'm not trolling, but..... I received FS9 the day it was officially released. Installed the sim and had to get immediate help from here in the forum, due to not being able to boot from CD #4. This one has me stumped. I have seen posts related to specific scenarios where the sound goes haywire (approaching, entering clouds, only in VC mode, not in VC mode, etc). However here's my scenario; if I am not in 2D mode, or am in 2d mode and looking in any direction but DIRECTLY at the panel, I get a repetitive (at a rate of 1 to 2 hertz) blast of sound that comes in at about 60 to 80 hertz. It's volume seems to vary with what I am doing, but the only time I don't get it, is in normal 2D mode looking at the panel. Everytime the sound happens, you can see the frame rate counter drop. Hi,I have flown IFR into Martha's Vineyard, laGuardia and JFK and the ILS lines me up about 15 degrees off the intended runway... FS2002 was always right on the mark. Embarrassing to land my DC-10 on the Starbucks in Terminal B. Anyone else experience this? If so, is there a way to fix it? Thanks.:(

2004 Is doing great, but Im trying to work out two small issues.The first is that my Yoke & Pedals seem super touchy now and I cant seem to smooth them out with any amount of adjustment in the sensitivities settings. The second is that when flying in a 100% overcast layer I can always see the ground. I can fix this by setting the visibility at the surface to the lowest setting, but then its pretty tough shooting an approach with 1/16 mile visibility. I have seen a few posts suggesting that if your computer is not fast enough to render the clouds this will happen, but it seems like poor design if that is the case.

I dicided to switch to simple 2D clouds after getting frustrated trying to get a good overcast, only to find out that the overcast looks like this with 2D clouds:http://www.ircore.com/~reaper/uploads/2d_overcast.jpgEven with the so called overcast with the 3D clouds, we still see the hoizon under the clouds like it was in FS2002.

The 2004 kneeboard is real nice, especially with inclusion of the flight plan. But I have one major gripe in the 2004 version: after flying at night with the lights out in my office, my eyes get nicely adapted to the dark. Got FS2004. Use tooltips. Many tooltips have live association with the gauge , dial or button providing readings or status. Some of these are off the edge of the page (compass setting on the Cessnas, pitch indicator in the Dakota, etc).Can you move the location of the tooltip so it the whole thing is visible on screen? (Tried adjusting the monitor, so it's not that).Allcott

How do you request another runway to land on?I was flying a B732 into an airport with the following runway config.Rwy 05-23 5800ft ILSRwy 14-32 gravel 2500ft.Upon approaching the airport, ATC clears me for a visual rwy14.I don't think so sir.I'm type B732, not a cessna...So I bring up the options to request another approach for the airport (nice new feature), and I choose vectors for the ILS rwy 05.ATC's response...Turn left heading 320, vectors for ILS rwy05, circle to land rwy 14..No No No No.... I don't want to circle and land on rwy 14, I'll never make it sir..I tried all the options to select rwy 05, but ATC wanted me to land rwy 14....Finally I ignored ATC and lande…

When I intstall a new scenery and goes there I got the following error message. "Scenery read error. Attempting to open a non existent directory" I checked the scenery gfg and it was ok with right entry.The sceny was loaded bot it seems that the textures was very strange. The most odd thing was that when I uninstalled the sceney the errror message was still there when loading the airport. It eneded up with a fresh install av 2004 to get rid of this message.Anyone who knows ??ThomasESNN

I have had FS2004 for two days. My PC is a Dell 8300 with...P4 3 Ghz512 mbTi 4400I used to fly Fs2002 at a fixed 27 fps - rarely did it drop below that. With Fs2004 I get 4 to 5 fps in clouds! I have reduced the sliders until there isn't much point in having 3d clouds, until the fps are in the teens.When no clouds are in view or there are very few clouds then my fps will go up to my fixed value of 27fps. These low values can't be my PC as FS2002 will run at 100 fps plus if I take the fixed fps off!Obviously, I remain open minded as the program is new BUT I have flown fs2004 far less than fs2002 because of the frame rate hit.Is it just me or are there many of you out there…

I have seen some of the screenshots, and all I can say is wow. Now, I want something like that. I've seen realistic scenery, ground vehicles, and flightplans. I know how to get the flightplans, manually, or Ultimate traffic. Now for the question. I want freeware options first, but if you have some good payware, I'm willing to go in that direction as well. What are some good programs to add ground vehicles, and good scenery. I know scenery, just do a search, but what are some good payware options? Hey people, I search a good (free) madeira representation, everything does not matter BUT that crazy runway construction. Is there any great scenery out there which realy has this cool tunnel like something under the runway?

For some strange reason I have lost the ability to deploy landing gear in all boeing jets. I can retract them but I cannot let them down. The lever goes down but I dont get the 3 green, and a look from outside shows they have not come down. I have no idea whats going on. Any tips and suggestions would be appreictaed.The lear works ok and so does the King air. The other twin has problems. Sometimes the main gears come down but the nose gear does not.I have tried my yoke assignments, keyboard and nothing works. Not even the CTRL+G for manual deployment.ThanksBill
