Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem as I. FS2004 runs great, but after it's been running for a while and I'm flying, it just shuts down without warning. I would at least expect it to give me an error message? Don't know what's causing it, but it's extremely frustrating. Does anyone know what might be causing it or if I can do something to find the cause? Any help is much appreciated. :) Thanks! Allan

If you look at the power line towers from above you will notice that there are easements (paths cut through the foilage) along the path of the towers. You only see them when the power lines' path crosses across green foilage and not when over arid or sparse vegetation areas. I just though that this was a nify texture feature.

I'm sure you guys are doing this as well, just thought I'd pass on though. Until ATI delivers us new drivers that will let us use full window mode, I run in window mode now, but can't stand the menu bar on top and bar on the bottom. Just kills the realism for me. So, I just enlarged the vertical using the menu buttons on my Samsung monitor to 'stretch' the visual so the menu bars are gone. Have to 'unstretch' the screen to use the FS menu bar, but it looks so much better.Come on ATI, release those new drivers.

Does anyone know which disc has the aircraft files? I screwed up my MD83 and Dash 8 folders trying to install the flyable planes. Stupid me ! I did not make a backup! I looked at the discs but could not find the A/C files. I want to restore these folders. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I had an absolutely gorgeous flight from KSEA to CYYC last night in the CP Air DC10-10 in FS2004. However, on loading the airplane up, I was gonna lighten the fuel load because that airplane is much longer range than just Seattle to Calgary. In opening the fuel and weight planner in FS2004, I found the plane to be noted as seriously overweight. Given that I wasnt sure it was completely tweaked for FS2004, I didnt touch anything and decided to go flying and see if how it went. Went fine...but the airplane was decidedly nose high in level flight. Didnt look right. Does anybody know if FFX has truly configured this one yet for FS2004? I know its early days yet. I…

Well, after reading the post in the PSS Forum that the Airbus A320 will not be patched until the A330 is finished at the end of the month, I gotta ask, anyone have any suggestions on an airbus panel to use in the meantime. After using this sim now, I can't go back to FS2002, it just looks old now.I've seen pics in the screenshot forum of people using the Airbus, but never any pics of panel shots.Any suggestions, has anyone been able to get an Airbus panel to work?Thanks,

I downloaded the MD83 and D8 flyable pack. I got the textures for the MD83 to work, but there appears to be only the America West textures in the D8 zip file. I put those in the right texture folder, but have the stock paintjobs for the texture and texture 2 folders. Does anyone have the Continental and Alaska Air textures in the zip they downloaded? Is it me or are they missing? thanks!!

Has anyone found a good site yet that has FS2004 Panels,Aircraft,Scenery ETC...?? All the sites I have found have menus but maybe one or two repaints or Bell fix. Thanks, Joe

Put a new video card in and wanted to do a short flight. As a side note did not see any improvements in the new card (gForce3 upgraded to FX5600 golden limited) unitl I did what I read and removed the config file and let FS rebuild one. So I am at Madison WI and want to start a flight to find that the field is now IFR and cant just go. File a flight to a close field thats non controlled. Take off and get a very smooth flight. Loving the new sim now. Get cleared for a GPS approach rwy 12 with ...get this...a circle to land rwy 36!!! I tried putting a couple of the Aardvark 737s into FS2004 for AI. (They look so much better than the default 737s). They take off and fly fine but when it comes time to land they line up fine with the ILS and then crash short of the runway. Does anyone know what might be causing this?I'm guessing that it has to do with flight dynamics, and that Aardvark is probably going to have to update their FDEs for FS2004.Any thoughts?Lee

Im having a little problem with the autopilot in probst newest 727 panel in FS2004 it dont work.

All other things being equal (see modest specs below), what effect would a larger monitor have on quality and performance of FS 2004. I seem to recall reading, for example, that a higher resolution such as 1600 x 1200 allows for disabling anti-aliasing without much increase in the zaggies and a boost in frame rates?Your input would be appreciated since I am considering making such an upgrade prior to eventually upgrading other components.My big problem with FS 2004 is the lack of water surface reflections. Do you think a new vid card would take care of that or would it be more likely for reflections to return with a faster CPU? I never had that problem in FS 2002.Thank…

I've been using FSMeteo for the past few years and I don't know why these two settings are gray'd out for FS2004. Does anyone else have these not gray'd out? According to the manual, they're supposed to do:Dynamics Level (FS2004)Sets the FS2004 Dynamics Level. Values from 0 to 4 can be entred. 0= None1= Mild2= Medium3= High4= ExtremeWeather Coverage Distance (FS2004)Sets the weather coverage distance, This means that FS_Meteo will send all weather stations inside that distance. The default is 50 Nm. Values from 10 to 100 can be entered.

Maybe I'm missing something in the learning center but after doing quite a bit of reading I can't seem to get any downloaded weather to show up on the map view. If I download real weather (static) and click OK, it will download the weather and then a map pops up and I can see all the weather systems and stations, I click OK and it loads the real weather. Back up in my cockpit I click on the map view and the 2 icons for weather systems and weather stations are greyed out. According to the learning center, the map should be able to show weather systems and fronts as well as each reporting station but I can't do much with the icons greyed out. What am I missing here?Tim

After reading the AVSim review of FS2004, it seems I'm not the only one who don't like the color of the ocean in FS2004.To see what I mean, just start up from e.g. Seattle or some other place with lots of water. Initially use the "Fair Weather" theme and watch the water...it's too bright and not realistic at all. Now, go into the weather option and switch to the "Clear Weather" theme (no clouds). Now watch the water, it's a nice deep blue color with realistic reflections.Apparently, the unrealistic water is displayed when cloud cover is at 6/8 or more. Microsoft recommends editing individual weather stations and set cloud cover to less than 6/8 (the default for Fair Weath…

Has anyone been able to get this plane to work with 2004? I installed it but have a couple of problems.1) A clacking noise that starts when you turn on the master. Never goes away2) Crazy control inputs, with takeoff trim set it goes straight up into a stall. Anybody know of a fix? Loving 2004... missing my Dash 8!!Eddie KSLC
