I'll be flying along, minding my own buisness and then out of nowhere FS2004 freezes, the sound gets all glitchy. Ctrl+Atl+Del doesn't work, I have to turn my pc off. Is there any possible way to add a trim capability to the default FS2004 Jenny and Vimy? The reason I ask is because those 2 seem to have absolutely no trim while flying (this was intentional, the real aircraft didnt have trim) and its very uncomfortable flying them on a regular centering joystick. Since I really dont know what im doing in the air or cfg file, I thought maybe an expert could help me out on this.

Hi:I have CH Pro Pedals and they worked okay on my old computer. The pedals use a game port connector (serial?)Anyway, my new computer; with Windows XP Home, does not use the game port type connector. It uses USB.Fine. That's progress guess.I now have to buy pedals USB, which is also fine. I saw an ad for CH Pro Pedals (USB) for around $90 (I live in a rural area and the closes Best Buy, Circuit City, et al, is about 300 miles.) so I will have to purchase the pedals via the Internet.Is anyone using CH Pro Pedals running Windows XP Home? If so, how are they? Can I run the pedals while using the Microsoft Sidewinder 1? (the one without the ForceFeed) Or, will I have to buy…

Can anyone help me with a display problem? Today I changed from an older GForce 2PRO to an MSI 5900 (non-ultra). I can't get any 2D cockpit (just the panel) to show up in any plane. VC works fine for them all. It doesn't matter if I am in full screen or windowed. When the mouse is over where a guage should be, I do get tool tips and the cursor does change to a hand to click on an area. The entire panel is black. I am using Detonator 44.03 drivers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sim. When I uninstalled, I also removed the files in the application data area of my profile. I still have FS2002 installed and it worked fine. Hi -Would somebody please explain to me about frame rates in FS2004.I flew earlier from EWR to CMH (with real world weather) and I noticed, when I was on the ground @ EWR I was only getting 5-10 fps, when I was up in the air I was getting 20 fps (which is my max). Could I be recieving low fps on the ground because of my video card? (I have a 64 MB NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX420). I was looking to get another video card within the next month or 2. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good video card to buy, I don't really want to spend that much.Thanks Again,Paul

Hi, I've been wondering now why FS has not been taking advantage of multiple runways in FS2004. Let me give you an example:As you may know at Newark Liberty Int'l (EWR) in NJ there are 3 runways: 4R, 22L - on a normal operation day is used for Arrivals 4L, 22R - on a normal operation day is used for Departures 11, 31 - on a normal operation day is used for GA & CO XpressToday I was flying from EWR to CMH and I was taking off on RW 22R, but I was holding short to a Cesna followed by an MD-80. I have two problems in fs9 with the ATI 9800 Pro Card. Firstoff, I get huge amounts of flickering when I select menus, I remember someone saying it might be AF or AA, but what do I need to change?Second--When i select menus, they overlap even though my pointer is only on one menu, and when I am reading text, the text goes messed up when i scroll around? Any ideas,thanks a ton!

If you've exhausted your first round of discovery with FS9, take the Piper Cub up for a spin.. you will not be disappointed!Also note the fuel measurement gauge... yes the red stick in front of you will go down as the fuel is used up..I'm really not that keen on the "historical aircraft" but this one is great!

Is there a way to set the zoom in/out to a joystick button? I find that this is the biggest inconvenience when using VC mode. I often need to zoom in to a particular component, but it's awkward to move my hat switch, click the + and - on my keyboard, and move my mouse all at the same time. I have two buttons that I'd like to set as zoom in/zoom out, but I can't seem to find them in the list of key assignments. Does anyone know if this can be done?Also, what's the thing to tick off in fs9.cft to remove the red text for things such as Parking Brake, Instant Replay, etc.Thanks,Kenneth

I've just replaced my Ti 4200 64mb (It's fried) with a new GeForce FX 5200 Ultra 128mb and I'm not thrilled with the performance. My old Ti would easily keep up with, if not beat, this new card...First, I was unable to use the drivers supplied on the disc that came with the card. They made my screen go nuts with evenly spaced vertical lines and other oddities.. so I'm now using the 44.03's.I've tried going back to the 30.82's and the 41.09's - but the installers tell me "No Nvidia chips detected" and it dumps the install. I'm running a P4 2.26g w/512mb and Win98se.Does anyone have any suggestions about what drivers work well with this FX card?Thanks

Can anyone tell me whether or not FS2004 provides a configuration option similar to the 'OLDMODULES' section of the FS2002.cfg file?Specifically, how does one make FS2004 accept an old module like 'FSSound.dll' and not present a dll error message?The reason that I ask is that I get the impression that there are many existing dlls that FS2004 will consider suspect, and I have heard that FS2004 does not have either an FS9.cfg file or a FS2004.cfg file.Thanks,Robert

A few days ago Steve ("Bear") Cartwright wrote a really good piece on FS2004, and in it he included the Caravan amphib. One thing he noted was that it seemed to handle much better on the water than the 2002 version did, only requiring a touch of power to get it moving. In real life, this is how it should be. However, I'm finding I need just about full power to get the bird moving on the water. I've checked that my gear is up. Has anyone else here played with the Caravan on the water, and if so what are your findings? I'm just wondering if there's something I'm missing here (like that would be a first :-hah).Thanks guys,Glenn

I've just bought FS2004 but I'm getting terrible framerates. I'm getting only 10fps with my normal FS2002 settings plus 3d clouds.I was just wondering if anyone could help me with setting the display sliders.I have a:P4 2.53GHz512MB DDR RAMNvidia Geforce 4 MX440 64MB80GB HDDI am using the default learjet as a guide and with my normal settings on FS2002 I'm getting 20-30fps.oh and the limiter is set on 30fpsPlease help

Has anyone noticed that the ATC window seems to pop up when ATC sends messages to any pilot on your frequency instead of when just sent to you? I believe FS2002 just popped up the dialog when sent to you. The option in the settings control panel says to check the box to show the ATC window when messages are sent to you, but mine pops up for all radio communications...ideas?Nate

I copied my traffic.bgl file and all of my AI folders to FS9. Set up for my first flight using the PMDG 737NG and came upon something really strange. As I was holding short of runway 15L at KIAH, at least 20-30 a/c were in the landing pattern for both 15L and 15R. Cool, huh? :-kewl Well, not quite so fast, Batman.... :-lol All repeat all of them got the Go Around. Wierdest thing I ever saw. Everyone of them had to go around. There was nothing at all on either runway and I was holding well short of the hold short line. Anyone else experience this???:-hmmm
