Hi allDoes anyone know: a) can you use fs2002 landclass files with Fs2004 and :( if you can, where do you install them. Is it just the fs2004/scenery folder as before? Thanks Lungs

I really loved the California and PNW landclass overtop of 75m mesh. Seemed more detailed than what I'm seeing with FS9. Anyone know how the mesh works with FS9 now?Noel

Hey,Pardon the ignorance, My Gateway came with a Geforce 4 MX440 128mb, I suspect that it is plugged into a PCI port. Can someone help me confirm if this card is AGP or PCI and what port it is docked to??? Is it possible this is an AGP card connected to a PCI port? If so, if I connected it to the AGP slot I should get better performance, right? Thanks for your help!DrewGateway P4 2.531gig ddr ramGeforce 4 mx440 128mb

  4. I was using FSUIPC with ActiveSky and other addons, but is there a benefit to using it with the default engine? Also, any impressions of ActiveSky with FS9?Noel

  5. Started by wsieffert,

This may not be a big issue but I just read a post where someone with a 1.9 gig machine was only averaging 6fps with 3d clouds. I'm getting 20fps or better with 3d clouds on my P4 2.0 System.I was thinking that some people may not be aware that in the BIOS settings, there is a selection for write-back and write-thru which is how data is sent to memeory cache. Write-back is much faster and, on my system, it is dramatically faster than using write-thru.So if anyone is getting frame rates much slower than expected, the above may be something to check.Bob K

Hi, I just installed an add-on plane for FS9 which apparently had the fs2k2 fssound.dll file in the zip file. I get an error msg every time I start FS9 about the file may being incompatible. Can some good soul out there please e-mail me the FS9 fssound.dll file? ..its very small :) My email address is [email protected] very much. Yoram

Hi All,Just thought I'd share my results of A Century of Flight on my Dell Dimension 8100, P4, 1.4, Windows ME, 256MB PC 800 RAM with you. (Hard to believe my PC is not even two years old and it's practically outdated!)After a clean up of my PC and an overnight defrag I installed the 4 x CD's flawlessly. Took about 45 minutes in total.I booted her up and altered a few settings to just over the middle mark. (Turned shadows off)I chose the default Cessna parked at Talkeetna in Alaska using a winter wonderland weather theme. Load time was quicker than FS2002.In full screen mode everything looked fantastic. The sky colors were remarkable. The dreaded frame rate hit just didn'…

Before I go any further, let me make myself perfectly clear about one thing. I am not here to question or accuse beta testers of not doing the job they were entrusted with. With the many obvious discrepencies noted in what is otherwise an outstanding product, the logical question that should come to everyone's mind is, why?For the beta testers: Were lines of communications between you and the program designers open enough to exchange thoughts and ideas on a regular basis? When problems or errors were pointed out to these same people, did you get the impression that they genuinely cared about getting it right or did you feel you were just being given lip service?I am j…

Just recently purchased and installed FS 2004. After installation and set up, tried a few flights and noticed that the atc voices stutter badly at the beginning of each sentence. I still have FS 2002 on my hard drive and no problem there.Installed FS 2004 on my offrice computer and the stutter is still there only now it is in the middle of a sentence instead of the beginning.Does anyone know if this might be a disc problem or if there is a fix? Thanks for any help:Roger Hollands

Cessna 185. Elevation 1188ft KLBE Trim set to TO Mixture full richNo windApply full throttle. At 50k begin to pull back on yoke. At about 60k liftoff. If I leave the yoke in that position the aircraft literally shoots into the air and eventually stalls back to the runway. To effect a takeoff once the 185 lifts off I have to alow the yoke to go forward a bit. The yoke is not anywharere near a full back position. Once in flight I can trim for level flight ok.The very abrupt, and dramatic, takeoff angle (unless the yoke is relaxed) seems abnormal but I am not a pilot ????????Dick KLBE

I would appreciate if someone could help. It seems that when I try to change any of the autopilot settings for altitude and heading, I can only do it in increments of 5. For altitude it is increments of 1000. I am sure there is a way to change that, but I have not been able to find how to do it. Help. Thanks.

I would like to say some things about the AN-26 by Dimitri Samborski.A big BRAVO to the guys that made this aircraft add on! It really deserved to be payware :-) I know many payware aircraft add ons with less than half the quality! If only we had an english manual of its systems.... :-) I know, for example, that the rear cargo door slides underneath the aircraft but havn't found a way to do it... :-( Guys, go ahead and download this plane. A true quality add on. And a freeware one...Andyhttp://www.x-plane.org/users/mirage/signature2.jpg

Along with other reported issues, I notice thta if I access a menu item in fullscreen mode, or for thta matter switch from full screen to windowed mode, the sound may disappear entirely, and/or the frame rate will drop to 1.0 from mid 20's essentially making game play impossible until I reboot or at minimum exit FS 2004 and restart. This is very annoying. Has anyone else noted this or found a solution?Greg

The correct option box is checked but the rudder still isn't working with ailerons. Is there another checkbox hidden somewhere in Settings? Can't believe it could be a bug since auto coord has been around since the first FS. Help please. Using CH flight yoke makes it VERY difficult to use keyboaed for rudder control.

Dear all,Recently I updated my WideFS Client and Server applications by the new version. However I forgot to make a copy of the WideClient Configuration Settings (wideclient.cfg file). In this file I had made adjustments about the use of Actionkeys. However I cannot recall the commands I used and I find troubles understanding the manual. I use FSUIPC button assignment to push the Scroll Lock button (this works)- In my widefs.cfg file I have set the commands to accept Actionkeys and used the commands from the previous widefs.cfg file …
