When I drag a panel to a secondary monitor and then reenter full screen mode, the textures on that panel blur somewhat. If I go back to windowed mode, they are sharp. Any ideas what's causing this?I like FS2004, but the multi monitor process STINKS!Thanks,MarkNVIDIA FX 5900 (256)Det. 45.20's

Has anyone come across elevation data holes such as this in the default FS2004 scenery?I'd expect random glitches such as this in freeware or 3rd-party add-ons, but the number of scenery issues with FS2004 (despite the cool, new features) seems to be a bit on the high side considering the $$$ spent. This is between Joplin and Springfield, Missouri. See JPG for coordinates.Carlyle

My tin box finally arrived today. The installation was glitchless and soon I was firing up the R22. I'll save most specifics about that aircraft for the helo forum but here are some of my notes... I know that many of these things have been mentioned but this is my specific experience. Note that all I've flown so far are the R22, Bell 206, Mooney, the Wright Flyer, and the DeHav. Comet. (Oh, and a very brief hop in the Cub, just to see the external visual model that was featured on the recent Discovery Wings special.)My system: Athlon 1700XP+, 512Mb RAM, GF3 Ti200 AGP, GF4 MX420 PCI, WinXP ProUps---* I flew two short IFR flights between Salinas and San Jose in the Mooney. …

I have two questions to ask for anyone who knows.1. How accurate is the frame rate counter. I wish they never included it, because it bursts my bubble. I thought I was getting consistantly fast frame rates until I turned it on for an entire flight. I found the frame rates on my P4 3.2, Geforce FX 5800, getting 13-15 at large airports (lots of Ai, building storms weather theme, all sliders max, no AA, 1280*1024). Yet the frame rate seems very smooth! In some cases, the FPS droped to 8 or 9 and still it looked smooth. I remember with FS2002, if it went below 13, it looked real choppy but this looks consistantly good, which makes me wonder if I should even bother turning the…

Hello everyone,Just want to take this opportunity to announce the release of EZ-Landclass 2.00. It has been updated to work with FSConnect rather than FSUIPC, and most importantly, now supports working with Waterclass textures. Here is the general blurb for the program ..."EZ-Landclass is a program that allows you to change the placement of landclass and waterclass textures in Microsoft Flight Simulator

I have seen several posts on getting a solid ceiling. I too always get the hole around the aircraft when in a solid overcast layer so I can always see the ground. This can be fixed by setting the lowest visibility at the same height as the clouds. The problem is you then pop out of the clouds and have perfect visibility below (not great for approach practice). If you could set a second visibilty layer it would be an easy fix. If you set low visibility all the way to the ground you can complete any approaches.I really like 2004, but I have gone back to using 2002 for approach practice until I can solve this.PIII 800 Windows Xp512mbGeForce 4 Ti 4400 128mb

Hi there,Being the turboprop junkie that I am, I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on their behavior in FS2004.1) Are the start up sounds more realistic?2) Is taxing more controllable (i.e. no more heavy braking to keep the taxi speed under control)?3) Are the flight dynamics improved?4) Is the approach and landing more realistic and controllable?5) Are the sounds improved (especially reverse beta)?6) Do the props visually simulate pitch change form high rpm to feather ( the only aircraft I've come across that simulates this in FS2002 is the PSS Dash 8)?Thanks for any responseJ.C. At the Reno/Stead airport (4SD), I was surprised to find the marker barrels on 50' poles used to establish the courses for the Reno Air Races. Even the ones off the airport are there but are harder to see. They even seem to have the numbers on them. "Fly low and turn left".In the autogen, I found a detailed power substation, complete with flashing red lights and a water tower. It seems ironic that MS can get this level of detail in the sim but miss major landmarks like the Coronado Bridge in San Diego!!!??Larry Shinn

Hello there guys,I hope you can help me out on this.I installed right this morning FS2004. When I choose the installation mode, I got a message that FS2004 couldn't install DirectX9 and allerting me that FS2004 might not be usable properly. The reason why was due to the fact (so I read on the message) that my Windows version is not compatible with Directx9.I ignored this message and went on with the installation. But when I run the program A message showed up again claiming that FS2004 could not run without Directx9.I checked my actual version on DXdiag and it is the 8.1I tried to install Directx9 manually from the CD 1 of FS2004 but still the same message that my Windows…

Hello,Using driver 3.6 for ATI 9800pro / DX9b:- Every FS2004 flight I open I get several black flashes until it is completly loaded, looks like a redraw problem because menus are opened over menus.- All help files and texts inside FS that I scroll up, the text comes broken, I have to close and open the window again.- Sometimes changing views inside cockpit, the scenery isn't stable, it shake, front view is always ok.Well, the simulation is running quite smooth, but I'd like to fix these problems...Any tip is helpful. Thanks,Ulisses

  17. In an earlier post i did what the other guys told me 2 do. i went into the fuel and aircraft loader. Fuel was fine so i went into the aircraft loader. The first two areas were at 170lbs. each. The third was over 500 lbs! I changed it to 170 also but the plane was still showing to be too nose heavy. No matter what wait i tried to do the plane would not balance out.Its the same thing with every add on aircraft I put in there. This makes it basically impossible for landings. Does any1 know of a fix for this?

I got FS2004 and the CH-USB Yoke at nearly the same time. Okay my question. Is there a way to cordinate the controls so that I don't need to by rudder peddels. I can't assign both controls to the same axis in the sim. I can get rudder or ailerons but not both. Please help. I wish to get peddels someday just not right now.No doubt about it...Ronson2k

Yup, I've added the line: pan_in_cockpit_mode=1 in the section of the FS9.cfg file, but still no joy panning except in the front view only. I do have an older Sidewinder joystick, but it seems to be operating normally and I can pan just fine in the VC mode. Has anyone else seen this issue where the line doesn't work (I also have my pan rate set to 700, but I believe the panning didn't work when I had it set to the default mode as well)?Any suggestions would be appreciated, and if they include getting a new joystick, recommendations would also be appreciated there. Thanks much.Glenn

I didn't realize that FS2004 had added things like baggage trucks and cargo trucks to the airport scenery until I saw a post here. The trick is, of course, that you have the scenery density on at least "very dense" to see them.Something odd, though. I've tried a few airports and everyone gets the little vehicles except for sea-tac (KSEA). Sea-tac does get the jetways, but not the extraneous stuff. If I turn the scenery up to extremely dense, than I also get the vehicles at Sea-tac (but that kills my frame rate).Has anyone else encountered this variation from one airport to the next? Are the vehicles and jetways only at the high detail airports?

Anybody have any idea what happening or how I can solve it?Your help is much appreciated!!Paul

Have you ever seen those projectors where you pull down the big white screen in your living room turn on your pc and FS is on the screen just like those professional simulators? I am not to familiar with it but is it compatible with the PC? Does the projector even plug into the pc or does run on it's own?? I really don't know how to say it but hopefully you will follow my train on thought. Also does anyone know where I can get one?? Thanks, Joe

  24. I was minding my own buisness flying my Eurofighter over daytona Beach FL. When I spotted a cessna about 10NM 3,500FT so I got real close and switched my plane to the cessna 182 and begun flying in formation with him. After about 20min I was wondering where the heck was this guy going??? Finally I turned on the GPS(Global Postioning System(for you that don't know)) and found out he keep going off the coast of Daytona, FL. I was right behind this guy with my eye fixed on him. He made a hard left about 30degrees then a hard right back to his current HDG. When I looked at the GPS I realized he was going into the Bermuda traingle area and then about 2 min into the Bermuda tra…

Wow, just finished a flight from KATL to KMIA with the ERJ145 by Bill Grabowski. Minor things about it didn't work in FS2K4, mainly I kept getting a black shadow of the nose of the aircraft in my front view, but other than that, seemed to work great!Anyways, I pull into Miami International, and off to the right are United Airlines maintenance hangars, I pull up to the terminal, and there are gates, support trucks, catering trucks, baggage conveyer belt trucks, etc.!!!! I didn't check out if they were moving or not, but wow!! the detailed airports from MS look fantastic I think. Atlanta looked pretty good too.I know there has been a lot of upset people over this version…
