I really like the new DC10 by FFX, but I have a few questions. Where can I get a panel for it that works with FS2004. Now I'm using the 737 panel, as it's the one I'm most familar with. Also I have some problems with level flight while using the autopilot. When I'm at FL32000 and cruising at 0.82M, for example, and I have the autopilot on I get a 5 degree nose up pitch...I think this is a little too much.p.s. if this is in the wrong forum please tell me where to put it as I would very much like a fix for this.

Has anyone checked out how FS2004 handles high altitude and mountainous apporaches, does it still fly you right into nearby mountains like FS2002??Randy Jura, KPDX

Hi FolksI an have a stange display phenomenon. When I set visibility to 20nm or below, the runway and virtual cockpit disappear! Please see the attached screenshot below. When I climb to about 1000 ft AGL, the upper half of the VC is shown. Does anyone know why this happens? I would appreciate to know.

Hi,Just thought I'd share my FS2004 experiences with everyone. Installed it no problem. Frames are smoothe, no stuttering. Sliders are at mid to ultra high range. Haven't seen anything less than 15 FPS. Mostly in the mid twenties. I've even tested it and successfully achieved 55 FPS in clear skies.I read somewhere that FS2004 doesn't run well on anything below a 2.0 GHz. That's completely false!Regards,Canadian HawkC-GTGKSystem:Pentium 4 1.8 GHz512 mb RAM60 GB Hard DriveATI RADEON 9500 PRO 128 mb

  5. Hi everyone! I finally bought my copy of FS2004 and it's pretty amazing. However I tried to install FS Falcon from LAGO it didn't work! I tried to install Flight Deck III and gave me error after error and I tried loading the selected flights from Flight Deck III and my coppers kept falling in the water and there was no carriers! Does anyone know about updates for these addons??

  6. I just got FS2004 and it's just amazing. However, I can't enjoy the Lear because it keeps wanting to go nose high.Am I missing something. I'm certainly a green-horn when it comes to "flying" so is there something I need to do to acheive level flight outside of autopilot? Thanks

Just a short note to let you all know that OceanFX will be updated to support both FS2002 and FS2004. This is only about the utility, not the textures themselves. That would be Ed's department, not mine.I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my FS2004 copy, but hopefully I will have it finished by the end of next week, maybe the beginning of the week thereafter. Fingers crossed though.Johan de Vries

This is not meant to be a flame post or a complaint department. This is light hearted in nature and lets keep it that way. What is your favorite FS2004 goof so far.I think I had three for FS20021. Prince Edward Island being non existant2. Banff Airport being at the bottom of a pit (and similar mesh goofs)3. The London goofs with the Millenium Eye and the Dome being swapped. What are this versions biggies. So far, I think the Rock of Gibralter missing (again) deserves mention, (in FS2002 there was at least a 'hump' (Pro Pilot 99 still has the best Gibraltar ever simmed)House in the middle of KTEX (I believe) runway.Any others?Remember this isn't for real complaints but …

I just finished installing fs9 but in my display properties within the game, the only resolution listed is 800x600x16. I was running 1280x960x32 in fs2k2. I would like to up my resolution but there is no other choice listed. I have tried at least 5 different drivers and I still get that one choice listed. My graphic card is a plain vanilla GF3 on WinXP. Can someone please help me out Thanks. Madmax1

Is it just me or are the moving water droplets in the VC actually blue? The rain looks awesome in 2D, but lousy in the VC. Just wondering if this is a video related issue or if the rain drops are really blue :)I removed my VCRainMoving????.bmp from my scenedb/world/texture folder for the time being.

Hi all! As we all know those of us with Nvidia GeForce FX cards cannot see their 2d panels.. In the "Flight Simulator News" section however it says that the drivers will be available today (August 1st). Does anyone know where they are?? I have tried the guru3d.com site and those drivers don't seem to satisfy the problem. See you in he skies ;)

  16. FS2004 problems:One:My 2D panel starts to flicker on and off for no reason. I suspect this is a Geforce video card problem that everyone is having. My video card is a ASUS GeForce3 Ti 200 running 44.03 drivers. It looks like it may be a Direct X problem. I just took my wife on a little scenic tour of New York City in the FS04 C172 and even she was impressed by the scenery. The sun's reflection on the Hudson, the scenic ferry boat going out to the Statue of Liberty, Yankee Stadium (and she really liked the Met Life Building since it had its name on it.) I then took her over Niagara Falls (Horseshoe needs work - too straight like the American Falls) and tickled her pink with the Skylon tower and the Maid of The Mist in the gorge. I'm sure there will be many other highlights to see throughout the world as well! So far so good! :9

I have been thinking recently about the planning that must go into a series like FS. I'm sure they have an overall plan and are pacing themselves for each release, partially constrained by hardware. I bet if we could see some of their ideas for future editions it would blow your mind. FS9 is already having that effect on me :-)Todd

Hi All;I know I saw a question about the low level of the ATC in FS2K4 but for the life of me I can't find it now. Has anyone figured out how to increase the volume? I have set mine at 100% and all the others I have set to 10% and I still can hardly hear ATC. The volume on my PC is maxed out both within the PC and the speakers. If I increase the volume on the speakers any higher I get a feedback hum.I had no problem with FS2K2 so it has to be something in FS2K4.Any ideas?:-hmmmmaxsdadhttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg

After tweaking my sim setting to the best that I think they are going to get, and being a GeFrce FX 5200 Ultra owner, I settled for using windowed mode as I generally got better performance and didn't lose my 2-d panels (although I lose the 2xAA by using windowed mode). I have always waited until FS2004 starts and then "maximized" the window and can average 10-13 fps at the Seattle Tacoma default with the "Major Thunderstorm" theme. Tonight however, I didn't bother to maximize the window and lo and behold I am now getting close to 20fps during the exact same setting....Is this common knowledge that I didn't know about, or did I stumble into something here? If this IS comm…

I was just flying around JFK without a flight plan, and I requested vfr clearance to land. The weather was heavy rain with terrible visibility. My clearance request by the tower was denied saying "Negative, airport is IFR only request denied". I flew in on instruments anyway, and the runway was obsured until a few hundred feet! The ATC knew there was no way I could visually find the runway. :D It is little things like this that make this sim so much fun. I just thought I would share, I was rather shocked that the ATC was paying attention to the weather other than wind direction for vectoring flights.

  24. hi,I am getting this weird problem when ever my machine tries to render fog or low visibility in fs2004. This is what happens when I lower the visibility..........(look at the pic). Also it doesent show in the pic but when this happens all my autogen objects turn white. I have a feeling this has to do with my video card (radeon 9000 pro is an 8500 with a new name) BTW. How do I fix this? You gotta admit this dont look right and actually makes the sim look quite ugly. Andrewhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/27222.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/27224.jpg

I've seen a lot of "fixes" whereby you have to edit the FS9.cfg file. I tried editing mine but have been unsuccessful. I have Windows XP Home Edition. I add a line to the config file (such as fssound.dll=1), save the file and restart FSCOF. The fssound.dll error msg still comes up. I go back to the config file and the line I added is no longer there. I checked FS9.cfg attributes and "read only" is not checked. I went to the Documents and Settings main folder and checked its attributes. It states "read only" so I unchecked this box and told it that it applies to this folder and all sub folders and files. The system goes through a bunch of data crunching and removes…
