Just flying around a bit when I noticed the curtis has working rocker arms on the engine. The sound of the wind thru those wires scared the heck out of me too! LOL.

I picked up my preordered copy today and it is the one in the tin box. The CD's are in a cheezy cardboard sleeve like FS2002 was. Just curious if the DVD case actually holds the CD's or if it too has the cheezy cardboard sleeve tucked inside.

I was wondering I have some nice panels for fs2002 that I would like to use with some planes into fs2004. I have the 757/767 panel from Buckz that I have used with my 757/767s in fs2002. I was wondering if I could simply copy the guages all except the gps.gau and alias the gps.gau that is made for fs2004 with that panel. I also have the Paul Goldings MD-83/87 Panel that I would like to put into fs2004 as well. Any info would be appreciated.Thanks.

I have been anxiously waiting for 2004 just like everyone else, the reason I don't yet have it is that it's not available in my area. However, I have been reading lots and lots of posts here, and I'm begining to get the feeling I shouldn't be in too much of a hurry. All I read about are problems after problems. Of course it could be that those that are really happy with their installations are not posting. Wish there was some sort of a Yea / Nay poll to guide those who have'nt bought yet. Sure would be nice to hear from Microsoft.(Yes, I also believe in Santa Claus).

Hi,I finally got FS2004. I used Nvidia driver 44.67, since some folks mentioned that it will fix FS2004 issues. Well, after I configured the display settings in FS2004, I was ready to launch a flight, but then my screen went black (except it showed the 3-D aircraft model), a few seconds later my PC re-booted!I uninstalled the 44.67 driver completely, dis-engaged my antivirus software, re-installed 44.03 official driver. Now, I can't view the 2-D cockpit! What are you all experiencing with this driver/2-D cockpit issue? Do I need to wait until NVidia officially releases their next driver? Help!Cloud9

  9. LOL, I am thrilled with this sim!!! I had all kinds of worries and fears from reading all the problems here and other forums, but I also read the good ones as well. just like FS2002 it acts differently on every machine.I have always had good luck with FS2002 performance on my Athlon 1.4 gaming machine, but it is in the shop, so I loaded FS2004 into my internet one, Athlon 1 gig, 1 gig 2100 DDR, Radeon 7200 64 mb card, cat 3.2 drivers, XP pro, just to see how it did.Loaded a flight out of TNCM, default weather, in the Lear, ALL sliders maxed (how I fly FS2002, no other way) AA checked in game, frames locked at 20, left the counter off and it was very flyable!!! when I did …

Just wondering what everyone is using in setting the sensitivity and null zones for joysticks. I have CH Flightsim yoke LE and rudder pedals, both USB. The toe brakes seem to always activate at the slightest touch and then remain engaged. The only way to get rid of this is to set the parking brake and then relase the brakes with the keyboard. Anyone else run into this issue? ThanksAndyKCMH

One area where the clouds come up short is in "substance". From a distance, they look outstanding. But flying through them is another matter. This was one feature I expected in FS2004, and was sad to see wasn't included. What do I mean? Fly through any cloud, and pan your view to either side. You won't see the vis changing from opaque to solid as you would in a typical cloud. Instead, you see yourself "slicing" through the layers that define the cloud. This is somewhat true in the forward view as well. I'm sorry to see this feature lacking in FS2004....flying through clouds is as important to the realism factor, as looking at them from afar. I mentioned this durin…

Is anyone else having any problems with their night water textures not displaying proerly in FS2004? It seems as if a large shadow is below my aircraft that extends to about 60-80 miles around me and in front with a definate contrast to water I see 80-90 miles ahead. i.e., I see a lighter blue ahead and below me is like a dark grey with clear straight lines seperating the two colors. I have tried to fiddle with the display settings to know end and it seems that with the extended terrain textures checked it does improve a bit (now the grey extends further out into the distance versus just 10-20 miles or so). My performance for the most part is very good for my hardware …

  19. Pressing the brake pedals no longer releases the parking brake for some reason. From the keyboard, I can set or release the parking brake.Once the parking brake is released (by the assigned key), the brakes work fine with the pedals (or F11 and F12 on the keyboard). No big thing, but I don't know what changed. I have tried recalibrating the brakes with FSUIPC and checking my assignments both in CHMGR and FS2002. They are all correct.Any ideas?ThanksRTH

Ok guys, I know this probably a simple answer but I cant see it. I recently got my new machine up and running after building it myself. I won't bore you with PC config, but and here is the problem since the upgrade the minimum visibility setting I can achieve is 60mls.Is there any other way other than the slider control of reducing the visibility further. I ask this because I am flying the UK using VFR Photographic scenery, and whilst I would love having visibility of 60 mls and plus it doesnt really enhance the flying experience. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
