I'm thinking of moving to an LCD monitor but seem to recall some comments that they were not too good for flight sims. Will appreciate opinions and experience with them. Is there a good LCD to recommend?Thanks in advance

Ok so I am climbing at about 2000 FPM and am going fine until say 20,000, when it seams I cant maintain 200 Kts or anything more then .6 mach. I switch to about 1000 FPM and it helps a little but not much. So the speed steadly drops (at full power). Fuel was about about 60 percent.Any idears?

Checking the panels of the DC3 and Ford TriMotor, both have only one rev counter.Even making allowance for the age of the aircraft and the relatively primitive instrumentation then available did they really fly around in those days with only one gauge to show the RPM? If so which of the two engines on the DC3 (or three on the TriMotor) is the rev counter showing the RPM of?

Does anyone know web sites where I can find good scenery for FS2002? Im looking for the holiday airports in europe (like Faro or Palma) Ive been looking here at avsim but only found Faro and Palma so far.

Can anyone else check to see if they can see any bridges crossing the Mississippi River at St. Louis (There should be 2 or three near the Arch) They were there in FS2002. BTW, this is not a complaint, just curious if I have a setting wrong. I see bridges in other places in the FS2004 world. Maybe MS left them out. Thanks.

Has anyone found FS2004 in Miami?I called 4 Office Depots in Miami and none of them have it. They were all uniformly rude. Their attitude was like "what, you're calling a serious office store like us about a GAME???" I asked them what date they expected to have it and two of them said they have no idea, the other two said "We don't do dates. It's a game, why don't you call EB or Best Buy."When I told them Office Depots all across the country are already selling it, they replied "This is Miami, it takes longer for things to get to us." Hello??? Ft. Lauderdale stores have it, Orlando stores have it, Tampa stores have it.So has anyone had any luck in Miami?

Hello simmersI just got the ATI Radeon 9800 pro 256 mb. I also just got FS2004. The graphics are absolutely spectacular!! However, there are two MAJORLY ANOYNING BUG with Catalyst 3.6 drivers. 1) When ever you press the alt button to access menues there are about 6 on/off screen flashes EVERY time which is increadily anoying and gives headaches. It might cause seizures which is NO joke. 2) When accessing emmbeded windows such as kneeboard with text scrolls within the text is increadily streched and unreadable which is quite anyoying for the nav log on the kneeboard.Has anyone (Beta Testers) wish FS9 FS2004 been able to find a fix for these two problems?Can someone running…

what program will allow me to tweak settings in Radeon card, like LOD level on mipmapping. The control panel with ATI does not allow me to finetune as much stuff. And Rivatuner says it does not recognize my video driver.Any help?Thank you!Christopher

So far the screens that I have seen with fs2004 or Century of Flight look outstanding to me. I am really looking forward to it in that aspect. The main concern that I have is the 4th cd problem. I am not sure if this was a beta issue or the final retail program has the same issue. So this is what I am up against. Fs2002 installed perfectly on my Dell Deminsion 8200 2.4ghz system. I would like to install fs2k4 when it comes out. Should I wait? Should I install into another directory? What can I expect with the installation of fs2k4 Century of Flight? FS2004 is coming to my city this coming Tuesday, and I can't wait. I know that the defaults are still the fake airline liveries, but are can the aircraft in FS2002 be used for FS2004, and the same with scenery, and flightplans?

Yesterday for most of the day the forum seemed very slow. Today it is worse. It was fine at 5:00PDT but now it is at a crawl. Anybody know whats going on?Pat Callaghan

Like many others I don't like, in fact resent, having to keep a CD I have purchased in the drive. If no-CD cracks are verboten, then how does one go about making this Virtual drive? I haven't a clue. Must there be a virtual drive for every program that requires the CD in a drive? It beats me why copy protection isn't adequate.

In FS2K2, overcast skies completley covered the sky - no holes at all. This is still the case with FS2K4 when you are viewing overcast skies from below the layer(s). However, once you climb above them, they are not oversact at all - just scattered.This is frustrating when you're flying the jetliners - there appears to be no way to NOT see through the scattered clouds below - in effect, you never see a continuing layer of "overcast".Maybe I'm missing something??

A little help from some pro would be nice.The new taxi signs are great, but when ground tells me to taxi to Gate E3, I still cant find it. The gates do not have numbers even with the scenery slider maxed out. Also when when ground says taxi to runway 9 via A3 S W and I get to the S intersection the sign says <---S---> How do I know which way to go? I try to figure it out based on heading but some of the taxi ways are not that easy to figure out. So for now I still have to use the progressive.Maybe runway signs would also help like real worldAny tips appreciatedBill

Still haven't purchased my copy yet so here are two questions about which I'm really curious, concerning IFR/ATC:Does ATC "step you up" in altitude rather than (as in FS2002) simply directly clear you to your FL with no intermediate altitudes.Are speed reduction instructions given by ATC when on approach, i.e. "Learjet N700VC reduce speed to one six zero" In FS2002, no such instructions were provided. Here's the scenario...Had been running the gold press release version. Uninstalled it yesterday and installed the commercial retail version. Ran commercial release yesterday afternoon - no problems. Shut down, went to bed.Got up this morning, tried to rerun, and no panel display in 2d mode, nothing. Nada.Guess what? Corrupted BMP's and other files in FS2004. Did a chkdsk and whoa... fixed all of the corrupted files/links/references and FS2004 booted up fine.Keep you eyes peeled for corrupted files and link tables guys. My new computer has 2 hard drives. Fs2k2 is currently on drive C along with Windows XP. I was thinking of installing FS2004 on the other drive, but I have a couple of questions about this installation.1) I have the latest DirectX9b update installed on the C drive. Does the FS2004 installation give me an option to skip installation of DirectX?2) Do I need to have DirectX on Drive D if it is already on drive C along with Windows XP?Thanks.
