I've just installed a fs2000 version of the J3 Cub (piprj3mm.zip) along with the fs2002 update (j3cub_02.zip) I'm using FS2002.The airplane loads fine but it seems rediculously underpowered. Sitting at Meigs, I applied full throttle and the RPM indicator barely went over 1500rpm. It also took the entire 4000 foot runway just to accelerate to 40 mph. I managed to lift off with extreme difficulty but could not fly out of the ground effect. Wound up in a high-pitch attitude with decaying airspeed about 10 feet off the ground.Does anyone have any ideas as to what's wrong here? I do not experience any problems with other aircraft.

Hi, For saving your time and problems with the upcomming month trying and finding solution about fs2004.-Installing fs2004 with Windows Me, you will get poor performance and tons of stutters. Windows Me have problems with bad memory issues/bad headaches by default, you can trying by fixing this, by adding more ram and use the the DirectX.cpl, by reducing the sound accelerator to the complete left, this can disable some stutter on some sound card type. Available here: http://www.3dcenter.de/downloads/directx-9...ntrol-panel.php-HARDLY recommended to use Windows Xp 512 Ram min; win2k updated and win98SE updated are good also.-Defrag your computer before the installation o…

Is there anyway to use the old ActiveCamPro in 2k4? I just need the old one to play with until the updated version comes out. VC flying without it just isn't the same :(

I installed RealAir SF260 and I got clickable VC! Not all the buttons work but the radio stack and some knobs work. That's pretty cool. :)

Hello guys, I'm just starting to get involved in the FS community, and needing some help pretty bad. Is there anywhere on the internet that might give a good reading of what each gauge in the plane's purpose is? Like the Heading indicator, those numbers are confusing as heck, and if there was a place that would explain them it would help alot. And I would also like to find somewhere that shows how the flaps work in the air, and fuel mixture and everything. I'd like to get involved in this pretty heavy, but it's hard to do with the lack of knowledge I have on airplanes. Thanks a bunch guys, and it is appreciated. Darin

  7. I have read the now locked thread regarding other site's policies regarding the posting of material on FS2004. AVSIM's position is simple; the boys and girls at Redmond have an open line of communications to the senior staff at AVSIM, including yours truly, and we haven't heard boo from them. It is obvious that FS2004 has been released to the public starting, apparently, in Sweden. For whatever reason, and no one on AVSIM can answer the implied question, release of FS2004 occured prior to the announced date. That's a problem between MS, its distributors and retailors. So, if you haven't noticed, AVSIM is open for business with FS2004!

Hello all,I've used FS2004 for about an hour now and it seem that every AI aircraft calls a missed approach when landing. I dont' know if this applies to PAI aircraft or default aircraft. Has anyone else seen this behavior?-DN

Thanks to JohnM, I've opened up my hanger doors for the default Corsair. The default has no radios, no nav equipment that we have these days, just a compass, and some old car maps.My challenge, to fly across Canada with only car maps and the default Corsair. So far, so good. I departed Vancouver and just landed in Hope, BC (a little grass strip surrounded my mountains). I also have a VFR supplement which has all the airports in Canada. So with this, and some old car maps, I'm navigating the hard way, look out the window, look at the map, and guess where I might be.What a blast....

After reading the unreasonable responses here and after much consideration I have had enough of all the rulz and heavy handedness, I am Leaving! I Have already setup a 24hr self-imposed deadline to have a FS related website where there are plenty of user resources and tips for flying, designing and tweaking, tweaking plus tweaking.I invite all to help me pick out a good name.com (suggestions like Cloud9 and such will automatically get one banned for life)I hope this serves as a lesson and a warning to Tom and the others like him who provide these free services for us sim crazed nuts -Don

I Can't seem to find any info regarding FSMeteo and compatability with COF. I've had a look at Marcs site where their is no mention of 2004 and also mailed him.Has anyone heard anything ? I'm considering buying ActiveSky this evening in preperation for 2004 as they have just released a beta patch for compatability. If FSMeteo is going to be updated I'll hang fire for a while. Cheers !!

Lee Swordy salvaged FS2002 for me... I've become so spoiled by having my local military base full of acft, I cannot stand seeing it empty now! I can't have my military acft going to civilian airports (they'll get cooties, dontcha' know?)... I could die here! *grin*

I know the AFCAD utility for FS2004 is not yet available, but I swear I saw some screenshots parking at addon airports in FS2004. If AFCAD is not available, how was it possible to do that? Thanks.

  20. It might be nice to reduce the overall clutter on the board and make it easier for people who are trying to find a copy before the 29th...Speaking for myself, I am DESPERATE to find a copy this weekend. It's the last two days of my vacation, and I won't have any time to even look at the darn thing for the next 3 weeks. So, if anyone finds it avalable in the Tacoma/Seattle area, give a shout .... I tried all of my local stores in Puyallup without success this morning.

Hello everyone,I just wanted to drop a line to Thank all of the Beta Testers of 2004 that took the time to keep the rest of us non-beta testers posted on the new flightsim platform with requested screenshots and other interesting information. I realize that something else must be given up ( IE time with the family etc ) to continually post info about the new sim for everyone else to know about. After reading some other posts about some "issues" with the new sim, I personally expect some "issues" as with any new product and will not let that stop me from continued enjoyment of simulated flight along with the rest of my fellow simmers. Along with many of you, I too have alo…
