Howdy all!I'm about to start my flight training and the school I'm attending primarily uses Cessna 152's for the Private Pilot portion of the flight program. I thought it would be a good idea if I got used to the good old 152 in MSFS before I actually take one up in the air again. What are some of the best freeware models you folks have run across? Also, I've been looking for a good freeware 737 panel as well as a 777 panel for some of my VA flights. I've got my 757/767 and 747 flights covered by none other than 767 PIC and Ready for Pushback but I still need something other than the generic panels supplied by MS for the 737 and 777. I don't need visual or flight model…

Hi all, I have recently upgraded my computer to Win XP Pro using a full format & install. I have a annoying ticking I hear in the background. It is very faint but it will get louder as I turn up the volume. I is also in all planes. I have all the latest Win XP drivers. I have a Sound Blaster Live sound card. Any ideas? Thanks.Pat Callaghan

Hi,The main reason why I went to use FSMeteo was that with FS2002 built-in weather, when you had missing weather stations reports, you found yourself suddenly in standard weather, i.e. blue sky, 29.92 in. Hg and no wind, even if you were one second before flying in a horrible snowstorm !Has this problem been corrected in FS2004 ?ThanksAlain

I just tried out FS on an older (400 Lumen) video projector that I borrowed (for a karaoke show I'm doing). It was pretty neat to have a big old 8 foot video rectangle on my wall, and showed a great deal of promise, especially on my two monitor system. Even my wife was impressed, which is in itself a tough sell! It was on the primary monitor port, and showed no particular problems to run this way.My questions....Has anyone else tried this, and what would be a good and/or recommended projector (without spending a total fortune) to do this on a permanent basis.I know nothing about these projectors.TIA...Bob (Lecanto, Fl)

I just wanted the team at FFX/SGA to know that I deeply appreciate all your efforts in designing the DC10 series. The plane is just fantastic. I had a chance to fly them and they are just great, love all the detail that you have put into them. I especially loved the Sun Country DC 10. It brought many warm memories for me, as I got a chance to fly on her to Maui where I got married. Thanks for making them for all of us to enjoy. I also like to thank-you for making the other planes you made, again they are great. Thanks for all your hard work in making them for all of us to enjoy.Kind regards,Charles

  6. Hi everyone,Can anyone please point me in the direction of a good gauge designer/editor program that is preferably free. (But i will pay if good)I have a few ideas for some custom gauges, The ability to design from scratch is just as important as being able to edit existing gauges. Also the ability to work with XML gauges is also very important.I've already heard of CPD (Custom Panel Designer) &FS Panel StudioHowever these are for the whole panel. I really want to focus on just gauge design at the moment. (I think that CPD doesn't let you edit/create gauges anyway?)Look forward to your help.Al

  8. Hi, all, Just read in a review that you need the fourth CD in the drive to fire up FS2004.1. Can I remove the CD after starting FS and put in another CD (for Example SIM Charts?)2. THe 4th cd is going to be damaged very soon, Can I Legally make a copy of it and use the burned copy on my machine?3. if burning the CD #4 is technically possible, then what is the security strategy here, anybody can burn copies of CDs in todays computers, I dont get it.Other Question:I want to be Beta Tester for FS2006 to have a copy of the sim before it hits the shelves. how do I apply? (Just Kidding, This wait is driving me crazy!!!!!)Thanks....

Sometime little things in life can bring a lot of joy and I am now seeing this for the first time with FS2002 and soon to be FSCOF.I just purchased a new PCIntel P4 @ 2.8 Ghz.512 MB Ram80 GB 7200 RPM ATA DRIVE128 MB Radeon ATI 9800Wow, what a difference. I can now load or run any scenery or plane I want and not have to worry about lousy frame rates that I saw on my slow, but dependable, PIII 450. I have all the sliders maxed, running very dense scenery addons and a fine Meljet 747 and I still see 30 + FPS. In the air, when I view the plane from underneath, the FPS shoot up well over 100. In some cases, I think I need to limit the framerates as the controls have now become…

Tonight I took my first test flight in the new FFX DC-10 (yes, i know im behind the curve but i cant break away from my FFG DC-10 NWA:) ).I noticed something very odd. When i was cruising the aircraft needed about a 5-6 degree nose pitch up angle to maintain level flight (.82 at FL340).Im used to about a 1-3* angle. I dont know what the real angle is anyway. So it seamed like it was haveing a hard time staying level. But on approach, I was having a hard time staying DOWN. I have about 30 degrees out of 50 flaps down with 19000 LBS fuel at 140 Kts.I needed about 2-3 degrees pitch down to stay at -800 to -1000 Decent rate. I just barely got a chance to flare out or i would h…

Hi When ever I aquire new addon aircraft one of the first thing I do is playing with the lighting systems. I sit my aircraft there at the ramp and switch on and off each light and observe it from spot view. I tried nav light, strobe light, wing light, logo light, anti-colition light and so on. What I see is some time each type of light doesn't respond to it's respective switches, for instance logo light will come on with nav light. So is this due to "FS limitation" of how it manage lights?editoh, BTW.in RL is cabin light control via cockpit or is it controled at the back? In FS I think it come on when nav light switch on, I'm not sure

I was seeing if any of those great ac painters out there could do ffx's 727 in the new UPS or Emery Worldwide colors? Thanks.

  19. I was wonderin if FS03 wx is much improved over previous versions of FS..i.e will the weather be constant...more reporting stations giving us feel real sit..with no long periods of clr sky, ovc, clr, ovc.. a few high alt clds .....know what I mean? Some of the freeware programs..no matter how you set em up..are the same as FS2..if not the close? Will the WX in fs2003 satisfy us....me !! :)MB

How would I add cabin lights to a plane? I have a Gulfstream 4 and at night there are no cabin lights. Can I add cabin lights by adding a line or two in the aircraft cfg file? Or would that have to be painted in using a paint program?

Sniffle Sniffle....With all of youse (I'm from Chicago originally, and I still use that pronoun) soon to get your copy of FS2004, I won't feel speshul anymore. No one will be rushing to see my screenshots. No one will want to hear me describe flying in the weather. No one will care. I feel so alone. So I've asked Microsoft to postpone the release of FS2004 for another eight weeks, so I can feel important and needed again. Considering my stature in the community, they immediately agreed....OK..... So they didn't.... But I had ya guessing!

Seems that, according to the Nordic site, Sweden has MS connections!"The Swedish software retailer Software Express has received their copies of Microsoft's new flight simulator FS2004 - A Century of Flight. Their shop can be found in Stockholm but the simulator can also be sent out to customers by regular mail, also to other countries then Sweden according to forum user Krister Lind
