Just did an online flight from Washington to Orlando and updated the weather to see hurricane Isabella ... no sign of it!Then returned flight with ActiveSky and again ... no sign of it!Does anyone know where M$ will have storred the huricanes maybe in the area close to all the bridges?RegardsT

Within CoF you can select if you want General and or Commercial AI traffic. I have two questions on this. What are the chances that Ultimate Traffic will work by deselecting the MS AI commercial traffic and allow for UT traffic to show while not touching the General default traffic having it selected? That way you could keep all your default AI general traffic and add/replace the commercial traffic.My second question is since AI traffic can and does slow down the sim due to the work load do you feel that we should have seperate sliders for amount of General and Commercail traffic available in the next version so that the simmer could customize the AI traffic to there s…

I wonder how hard it would be for Microsoft to program the airports realistically as far as hours of operation are concerned.For example, Roberts Field's (KRDM) Ground and Tower are operational from 0600-2000 local time. After that Appch/Dep takes over. I wonder if they can work that into FS2006 or FS2007.

As a devoted Flight Simulator hobbyist since FS98, a GA pilot in the real world, and an avid reader of this and other similar forums, it is obvious to me that despite all the numerous and helpful suggested tweaks/changes, many on mid-range systems and below are just not getting the performace they expect out of FS9. It is not good enough to say "Upgrade your system". This sim came with the promise on the box it would work on systems above 450MHz! Can't connect to any of them tonight.

This isn't a topic directly related to FS9 but it does affect how I download files for MSFS. I'm using Windows XP Home version and until 2 days ago downloading files were simple. I would click on a file for download, the screen came up and asked if I wanted to save or open it, I clicked save and where I wanted it to go..... great. Now, for some reason when I click on a file to download, it immediatly begins to download into a temp directory without the extra window asking where? I'm sure I must have accidentally canceled this feature but for the life of me can't find how to correct it.Any help would be greatly apreciated.ThanksDave

Simple question hopefully. If crash detection is turned off, which it is at the moment for me, would I be able to make a reasonable "wheels-up" landing, or would the aircraft still sink into the runway?

ok I am new to all this so here goes ,I bought form a shop FS2004 A century of flight , installed it and tryid it out and it works great, ok so far so good.I also bought 727 pro from a shop which came on cdrom with a registration card.now i go to there website and find there is an upgrade from 2002 to 2004 edition called cs727_13up15.exe which will update my 727 pro to 1.5 sound good I thought and downloaded it , it tells me i need to put it in the place theat cs727_13.exe is well that file dose not exist , it also tells me i can use my 7 digit code if i have registerd the product , well i cant register the product, so i can not updtae my SW which I only bought today , no…

Fellow Pilots: After successfully operating FS9 for a month or more and cautiously tweaking using the recommendations posted here I am experiencing turmoil. FS9 loads and seems to operate smoothly but after about 20 to 30 minutes (it varies) windows crashes and I loose my flight. An error report is generated and sent to Zeus on Mount Microsoft, but so far no fix has descended. Any observations/suggestions as to how I can begin to unravel this mystery? After 6 weeks or so of using FS2004 quite successfully I find there is still just one thing about it I don't like too much - the GPS.It certainly isn't so clear and easily readable as the basic one that came with FS2002.Does any body know? Has anyone tried? Is it possible by any means to copy/move or whatever, the FS 2002 GPS int FS2004 and substitute it for the fancy thing we have there?I can live with it- I'll probably have to- but if there's a chance of changing it I'd give it a try.Dave

Here's one more "bug" in new FS, it seems.When resting at airport and switching to Tower view, I noticed the Tower doesn't seems to originate from where it supposed to be! Instead, the view almost always seems to be from a position opposite that of where the real Tower location is. And this seems to apply to ALL airports I tried so far.Is this really a bug?

..haven't seen this mentioned before, but - in fs2k2 the horizon is pretty close to "real world" as it can get. In fs9 - no matter how much I dicker with any of the settings - I CANNOT get that beautiful, long-distance haze where the sea meets the sky. It is always a hard, blue or aquamarine(?) solid color with no "fuzzy" haze at all. Doesn't matter whether you're 5, 10 or 100 miles away - it's always solid. I used to enjoy flying around the Med, Greece, North Africa, Naples, etc., in the MAAM "BT" Mitchell - and it looked SO real: now it's just so artificial-looking; scenery "dithering" and so on. Everytime I look in the SS forum it is totally dominated by FFX DC10 or some other heavy, flying over some nameless place, with great clouds and maybe a lightning effect.What about a place only for us G.A. lovers? I get no satisfaction from hauling a 747 at 37,000 feet from place to place. Small flights under 10,000 feet. Small planes that move when they get hit with turbulence. Real cockpits and screenshots of the landing from the cockpit.Am I alone?

I notice the only way to look up all detailed downloaded weather info. (cloud base, winds aloft, turbulence, etc.) is by clicking on custom weather - advance, whereby I can then probe on these pieces of data, before switching back to getting real weather download again.Does anyone knows how I may obtain and view these info WHILE flying my plane such as Cessna 172 / Piper Archer / etc.? It will be excellent if I can obtain such info on weather at any nearby weather stations in the area I'm flying in, other than tuning in to available ATIS.
