  1. Hi All.I have the Hercules 9800 Pro but just wondered if I should be using their drivers or the ATI ones who, aparantly, make the chip on my vid card, many thanks,Steve.PS, any direct link to ATI for drivers would be welcome, I seem to be able to find everything but what I want, and if anyone knows of an impending release date for the NEW version of drivers to up-grade from the cat 3.6's this too would be welcome news, thank you againSteve,

Hi,In FS2004 when I get to the startup window (where you can select/create flights etc.), the mouse pointer disappears outside the drawn window. This was not the case with FS2002 and I wonder whether anyone knows of some 'secret' settings in fs9.cfg that could solve this. It is quite annoying as that window is pretty small on a 1600x1200 screen and it can take a few moments to locate the mouse pointer while invisible :-).I am using a NVIDIA GF4 Ti 4600 card with the 45.23 drivers and FS runs in full screen. When running the startup in windowed mode this is not a problem, but then it requires alt-enter to switch back to full screen and later, before ending FS, or on restar…

When flying the IFDG Boeing 757s I noticed that if you put a bootfull of rudder on the aircraft slews through 360 and departs from controlled flight. Is this normal? Before anyone flames me I realise that in daily practice a pilot wouldn't put full rudder deflection in as a matter of course and there have been real incidents of rudder hardovers causing crashes - however, I just wondered if the FS model was too sensitive in rudder.KFD

I'm thinking of purchasing a Geforce FX5200, any noted problems regarding FS9? I have a 1.8GHz Win XP, 512MB RAM 80GB HD Space, will the card work with that? Thanks!

Guess the title says it all. I just tried out that 20MB Olympic Airways package that was available for 2002. Got some incompatible something or other errors and just clicked past them. Tried out the plane in 2004 but the engines are not in their housings and i can see right through them. What 707's are you using in 2004, I have a panel thats good to go, but seeing as I can't wait for the CS707 any longer I reckon i need a good freeware substitute. All help appreciated.Regards,Markyboy.

I have posted this several times but It does not appear in the Forum. Do not know why (Moderator)..So here is my problem :For the last two weeks I have been getting the following message, and I Quote:"Error loading GPS-engine. The flight plan will not be used".Then the statup stops til I click on yes. This is very annoying aside from the fact that this makes the GPS useless since I can not load FPlans.Could you EXPERIENCE simmers GURUS or not, give me an advice/hint/tip on how to try to solve the problem.Should I re install the simulator ?Edmundo Cardenas (SVMI)

Hello everyone,I didn't know about FSHotSeat until I saw the announcement of the upgrade to FS9. I've flown a few hours in it and despite some shortcomings, it really fulfills some wishes I've had for a long time. I haven't purchased yet, but I am leaning that way. I do have four questions that I'd like to get user's opinions on:1) In FS2004, ATC gives step climb instructions, but the demo expects me to dial in the cruise altitude before I taxi out. How do I resolve this? Do I loose points for following ATC's instructions?2) I do a lot of flying in the default 737 - how does the checklist match up for this aircraft?3) Has anyone successfully added more SAPI 5 voices to…

I have noticed the following 2 problems with fuel settings in FS9:-1. This problem occurs when trying to load 100% fuel to jet/turboprop aircraft when the option to "Show fuel by weight" option is checked - it does not occur in piston-engined aircraft, or if that option is unchecked: when setting "100%" or the maximum number of kilograms, clicking on "Okay" causes an error message to appear, saying that I should set a figure between "0 and XXXX kg" where XXXX is, in fact, the max available & the number I actually set.2. I can avoid getting the above error message by setting less than full tanks, but then the number of kilos shown in the menu does not agree with the fi…

Hey folks. We're currently looking for an Airbus A330 pilot to test our new version2 of the plane. If you haven't seen this plane yet, check the screen shot forum. I promise you this will be one of the biggest releases ever made for FS. All for free lol. If you are or know someone that is an A330 pilot please PM me. POSKY has a spot for you. Some sort of proof will be required. Thanks a lot.

Hello all,You might remember some time ago here was a discussion that MS update Q811493 for WinXP caused stutters. Is it still an issue after MS have released so many new updates (SP2)? I mean I update my system regularly from MS online update service, but I'm still avoiding this Q811493 one. I just think that it could have been fixed already in the latest Qs and no reason to skip it. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Hi,I just installed FS2004, WOW, is this nice. I have been using Microsoft flight sims ever since they released FS98. The question that I have is about the lack of brightness with the scenery. I have turned up the brightness and the contrast to the max on my monitor but the scenery is still really dark. I fly at the mid of day and the green scenery is dark. It looks like it is at dusk or at dawn. The sky and the aircraft look great with the proper brightness. I have a new, high end system, so I don't think it has to do with the lack of computing power. Have any of you had this problem, if so, how did you resolve the issue. Thanks,Tom

Lately we have been seeing a lot of "shelving FS2004" posts, which are nothing more than thin veils on a rant on how so and so spent so many hours trying everything, and they still aren't satisfied so their shelving FS2004.Which then starts a new thread on how someone tries to help and convince the person to "stay". And so on and so forth.Hey. If you don't like FS2004, then fine. No skin off my nose. However, I really don't see the need for an announcement.Hey, if I had a sub-ghz system, I would be flying FS2002 as well. But if you want to go back to FS2002, then great. But don't use it to make a final "parting shot" at Microsoft on how blah blah blah. There are many o…

When we were using FS2K2 there were a series of standard scenery textures that needed to be available. I believe they were ASDv2.1, Nova and Nova Gold textures. Does FS9 need to have these also? Are there new ones that need to be used? Thanks!Airbus

I have ActiveSky and the new version posted today, and I've used the Novice Version of WeatherCenter, and of course, we all have RealWeather that comes with FS9. Which one would you say is the best representation of reality? I tried an experiment today in Newark (KEWR) and Seattle, and Chicago Midway. Tried ActiveSky, shut down, and tried RealWeather, and although both were relatively accurate, there was a huge difference in CLOUDS and Framerates. I have yet to try WeatherCenter for FS2004, but I remember loving it, and getting ready to buy it in FS2002, but decided to wait for the FS9 application.I will tell you what I found: ActiveSky seemed a little better on Frames, …

OK im tired of not beeing able to fly my all time favorite bird because of some cabin door in the left view angle. Today I just downloaded a new panel with some wingviews for the 777 uploaded to the AVSim library as I thought it might cure the problem via some panel view coordinates.Well, it didnt :( Still look left and straight into a brick wall or door rather. Looking back gives me nice open view of the hole in the cabin THROUGH THE CABIN WINDOW!!!Its now gotten to the point where Im asking this; Is there any way to COMPLETELY remove the virtual cabin from this aircraft??Id rather have no cabin at all then not beeing able to look outside of the flightdeck.
