Hi I increased the aircraft TRAFFIC in FS2004 to 100%. I have noticed a considerable slowdown. How and why does that happen? I mean, I don't see a significant number of planes at most airports in spite of the increase I input. By my increasing the percentage, does that slow frame rates by what's flying as well?What percentage do most of you use...and what else can you tell me about how this setting works? Thanks, Stan

What is the proper procedure for deploying spoilers on the descent phase of flight? I fly on business alot and I notice that pilots seem to deploy them toward the latter part of the descent for maybe a couple of minutes just prior to lowering flaps. I realize they are trying to slow the aircraft to below the max V speeds for flaps and gear but is there a proper time these should be deployed or is it left to pilot judgement? I'm trying to qualify for a rating in a VA. They have a training program which is good, but I suspect it was written with FS 2002 in mind because one of the training flights called for setting the weather to 700 foot overcast, visiblility 2 miles, winds calm.I have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.I did the following:World >Weather >User Defined Weather >Customize Weather >Advanced Weather >Clouds Tab >Clouds Coverage:Overcast >Wind Tab: Calm >Visibility Tab: 2 miles I shouldn't have bothered because even with the above settings I could still see the ground (foggy) from 6000 feet, and I could definitely see the airport runway lights when on approach…

I was wondering how many of you are aware that the Socal Mega scenery is only for the summer. Has anyone been able to add it to fall, winter, spring yet? I would like to know about this. Any info would be helpful about this.

HeyIn FS 2002, when I get vectors to the ILS by ATC, the Final Approach is very short ( about 5 to 6 miles ). As this is unusualin Germany, does anyone know if it's possible to change this pointof Localizer - Interception to about 8 miles?Thanks

I know there have been some discussions about what the right settings are for a monitor. Some even claim to see weird color patterns when looking at FS screenshots because their monitors are calibrated for photography or other applications. I have a 2.08 AMD Athlon PC with 512MB or RAM, ATI Radeon 9000 graphics and a Creative SB Audigy soundcard.I recently upgraded to FS9 after a (reasonably) trouble-free FS2002 installation. In FS9, immediately I got lock-ups when switching to spot plane view. Its already been 2 weeks since I have been getting a very annoying message when I start the FS9 simulator.I get an error message which says the following , and I Quote:"Error Loading GPS-engine. The flight plan will not be used". Then it stays there til I click OK and then the FS9 startup continues.What should I do ? re install the FS9? Hi, I have visited his website several times and see that he only has paint kits availabe for aircrafts. His fabulous 777 is not avaiable. I have sent a couple of e-mails to him but there is no response. I read an article that was written up about his great work with flight simulator but after this, it seem he has dissapeared. A few days ago I was complaining over at Lago's forum because their Twin Otter had blurry external textures on my system. Forum user Kofi told me to increase my mipmap slider in the display configuration dialog, hardware tab. I increased mipmap level from 4 to 5 and voila, crips textures on my Twin Otter.But this is not the end of the story! I started to compare the default planes with mipmap quality set to 5, and then back to 4. What a difference! Examples for big improvements are the Baron, DC-3 and Vega (white). Dreamfleet's Archer looks much better, too. Other planes were not affected at all, like the default Cub, Dreamfleet's C310 or the RealAir Simulations SF.260 - …

Hi all :-)Had probs with my system/Fs9 ever since I installed it, after many changes and 'tweaks' along with reformats and heaps of :-8 I have now come to a sim that runs nice and mostly smooth, very slight occasional stutters, which I can live with, this is wot happened:Crashing to 4bit desktop, found my AGP Fast Writes to be the cause.Hard Lock-ups, 'Video Bios Shadow' was to blame.-------------------------------------------------FS9 running with huge stutters and at times FPS running from 2-20,cause was Realtek on-board sound driver, press 'Q' and FPS would rise to a better level but it still stuttered. I have NVidia FX5200 under Win XPWhen I open the NVIdia view boxes, I notivce that the AGP is noted as being , I quote; BUS "AGP (PCI 8X) ". 128 Megs memory My board does support 8X AGP and when in Win98se (dual boot) I get straight 8X AGP described in the NVidia settings box.Any reason for thisI dont notice any difference in performance.ALlen

I and looking for airport scenery of Perth and Melbourne. I found a freeware scenery of Melbourne, but I didn't like it that much and didnt find any scenery for Perth. Is there any payware products for these airports?

I did a flight last night in New York City (I guess all the 9/11 reports yesterday made me want to do this) and I noticed that none of the building had any lights except for the Hazard lights. They appeared as black silhouettes. I don't know if this is a settings problem or an MS goof-up again.I have all other lights:Runway, Approach lighting, Rotating Beacons, Aircraft Lights, etc.Please let me know if I have to change something on my end. This is very disorientating since I VFR fly most of the time.Thanks for any information you may have.
