My apologies if this has been posted before. You'd think since Microsoft included Antarctica airstrips for the first time in FS9, they would have QC'd them. But try flying out of Mcmurdo Station (NZWD) and beware of the bizarre terrains. The runways extend into the ocean and the mobile tower either floats in the air (when you are on the ground) or in the water (when you are in the air). I'm not complaining; I like alternate realities and parallel universes. Sorry for the bad screenshots. Hi everyone,I wondered if anyone may be able to offer me some advice regarding a somewhat annoying problem that I have with FS2004. For some reason it seems that FS2004 is not shutting down completely when I exit the programme. This only becomes evident when I shut my computer off, and there is a pause before an information window opens and states that it is attempting to close down my fs9.cfg. A progress bar is displayed in this window, and there is the usual choice of 'end now', but when the progress bar is full the 'program not responding' window opens, at which stage if I select 'end now' the computer will complete its original process of shutting off.First step wo…

This started out as a search for a weather add-on. I own FSMeteo, and Marc has offered his normal "above the call of duty" service and support. He's e-mailed me two versions since FS9 was released, and I was anxious to try them both.But both versions were afflicted with the stutters. There are two types I experience... a subtle and almost unoticeable rythmic "hitch" that occurs every 3-4 seconds. I started seeing them today... but only because I was looking for them. Hi All.I wonder if anybody else out there using Just Flight's VFR Photgraphic Scenery has this problem.To get the best out of VFR realistically you should fly at about 2500ft in a Cessna (slowish plane) with visibility set to about 5 or 10 miles.It doesn't realy matter what kind of weather you have set as long as you follow the basic rules above. In FS2002 these settings worked perfectly and you could have an extremely realistic flight and even check out your own street.I have found in FS2004 that when you set the weather distance in customised weather setting to about 10 miles, rather than the distance view being shortened you get a mist effect which cuts down visibility…

Hello,Is anybody experiencing a extreme frame rate hit at KPHX? This is the only airport that I have this problem. Yes, all airports with photoscenery has some hit to it, however Sky Harbour (KPHX) takes a BIG hit. Enough so, that it is impossible to land.If it is just me, does anybody have any suggestions as to improvement?Thanks,Paul

Whenever I land in FS9 the simulator pauses for a brief moment as soon as the wheels touch the runway. Although I only fly the default cub it happens with other a/c as well.It also happened in FS2002 and I was running that on a different computer in those days.Otherwise, I don't suffer from any stutters and everything is smooth. Does anyone have a clue as to why this may be happening?My system is a P4 2.6 Mhz Toshiba laptop, 512 Mb RAM and GeForce 4 card.Thanks for any info.David

hii've seen a couple of posts regarding autothrottle probs but havent found a solution to this one. ive only experienced this when using the default 737 (havent tried other planes).on final with AP enabled upon disabling AP the throttle to the right engine is 'stuck' at whatever setting it may be at - that is, it will not respond to controller input which is my usb joystick (though i can change it onscreen with the mouse). there will be no probs with the left throttle. in order to remedy the problem i have to restart the flight. any input is appreciated.thanx.jesper

Hi,a few days ago, I baught my self a new HD (120GB 8MB by WD). I installed my WinXP and every dirver needed. Since then the FS2004 crashes in irregular intervalls. Sometimes after 5 min of flight, sometimes after 30 min. The picture freezes and the sound gets stuck (repeats the last sound, real noisy). Every other program works just fine (other games, benchmarks etc.). Mysterious is that on my other HD the same system just works fine.Read some posts about the same problem and people gave some suggestions regards CPU temp, RAM etc. Can't be it, because on the other HD FS2004 just works fine.Does anybody have a clue?Thanks for every reply.Best regardsFrankMy system:XP2100+…

My system has two video cards:1: NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX400 with 64 MB (AGP)2. S3 ViRGE DX/GX with 4 MB (PCI)Configuration:In the BIOS the S3 (PCI) is the default monitor. If I select the NVIDIA as default monitor the system doesn't start up the S3 anymore (I suppose because the S3 is too old to act as an non-default monitorIn Windows XP the NVIDIA is the default monitorProblem:This all used to work fine. Anybody got Lonnys panel for FS9 actually working properly?When I try it with the posky 767's I get a problem with autopilot.The airplane gets a very large angle of attack and not enough power to the engines.Eric

Hi,I was having a lot of stuttering and computer crashes since I installed FS2004 on my PC. Yesterday when I was flying my brand new PMDG 737, I again had a computer crash. Normally I had to wait 1hr to let the computer cool down (please note that it is not overclocked!!), but this time I was not able to restart it again. So I concluded that some part of the computer must have died.Today I tried to find out which part had died, so I took out each component one by one and replaced it by a spare component that was left over since I upgraded it earlier this year. I need better frame rates. I dont know what they are, but they are not smooth at all. It seems no matter if I have all sliders on graphics maxed or set halfway, there is not much difference between the two. P4 2.4g 1 gig mem. 128mb 4600ti video. with dx9b and 45.23 drivers and set at 1600x1200. Do i need more ram? I would think I have enough. Is there any other way for better frame rates. Thanks.

I have an interesting re-occurring problem with flying in Southern California.Particularly when I depart KAVX (Catalina Island) and head inland toward Long Beach (KLGB).About two to three miles departing runway 04, I hit a fog bank, no matter what the weather is.Can someone try downloading the current weather and depart runway 04 KAVX and head 045 toward the main land climbing to and level off at 3,500 feet and see if it happens to you?Is this a bug?Microsoft: WHERE is the FS 9 PATCH? I have downloaded the Thai 747-300 by Posky for FS2002 and I've seen many screenshots with the spikes enabled at the end of the wings (a customary feature of the 743). However when I load the plane up these spikes do not appear and I was wondering if I need to a assign a key - what do I need to do?? Also I would like to know when these spikes should be used. I bought and downloaded the PSS 330 and 340, and have tried 4 times to install it. It gets SO far, and the download aborts and can't complete. Got as far as 6 out of 7 files, and the NavData didn't complete. What kind of download is this? I've never had a problem with Payware before. Why does it have to go through all that separate file downloading? Are any of you having the same problem? I have Cable Modem, and this is bull____! Stan

The BEST frame rates I can get is 9, and that does not last very long either. AVG. is 7. Now this is what kills me: It does not matter what resolution I am running, or where I have the sliders adjusted to, or if AA is running or not!!!! Very upseting. I am ready to purchase the upgrade version for FSMETEO but i'm unsure wheather I need the upgrade or the full program. I currently have version 5.0 installed on my computer. I can't remember if I have purchased a liscense and if I did when. Any input??
