Hi allFinally got a chance to do a long flight today around NZ......... first ILS landing failed as I was not sure why I was experiencing probs...... so away I went again everything going not to bad untill my approach then noticed what a lot of posts have been saying about those dreaded frame rates dropping right down Its so bad that on touch down It was more like a slide show.....One Is getting that frustrated with this sim.. I really think It has been made more for users who want a game ( pretty scenery)... I really thought that owning a P4 2.4g 512 megs of ram 128 meg video card would be more than enoughI see a lot of people saying turn the sliders down or turn them of…

I have FS 2002 professional and when I first started using it i had lots of traffic (AI) and atc was allways directing them and Id see them at airports and such. Ive added third party scenery and Lago, FS Navigator and registered FSpuic along with others and I seem to be alone in the sky and at the airport now. The start up still shows loading AI traffic but I see none,,,,hear none etc. What the heck do I do? Did I do something wrong someplace? Help!!Thanks in advanceDizzy

Yes, my sim is ill. Last night I downloaded aerodesigns A340 for avsim.com and a 777 with a self installer. Got them loaded and started up MSFS2k2, splash screen came up and start menu ( do use this instead of going straight into the sim). Once I put the mouse over the drop down menu for aircraft, the sim shut down. No error message, nothing. So I double clicked back on FS and the usual start up commenced. I clicked on the aircraft button, aircraft came up, I clicked on the drop down for airbus and the sim shut down, no error message. This went on for several tries before I decided to just reboot.I thought, Ok, the a/c I installed must be bad, so I uninstalled them. Reboo…

I now that I need rudders when making a crosswindlanding, but exactly how do I use them?I suppose the point is that you can fly the runway heading without being deflected by the crosswind. How? When applying rudder my bankangle always change. Is that normal?I'm using FS2004 and realair Cessna C172.

I'm trying to solve the new processor v old bank balance problem. Would be a big help if anyone running Athlon 3200 could give me an opinion. How does it fly in 2004? And maybe, too, how it compares with the Pentium equivalent, whichever that may be.

I thought it well to start a message where we could put a list together for MS of things in FS2004 that needs to be addressed in a patch or next release:1. The drop in frame rate after flying for a while2. The fact that you can not request runway lights in bad visibility and have to wait until it drops below 5mi to get approach lights and 2mi to get runway lights3. The online weather update every 15 minutes are not accurate and if it wasn't for Chris Willis' clouds, the default 3d clouds are unflyable unless you have a Pentium 7 with 4 Gb RAM4. The strange fog behaviour arround mountains5. The power settings for some aircraft are totally unrealistic while the same aircraf…

I purchased the A340 and noticed an error. I checked their forum and didn't see a single post on the issue so I posted. Next time I checked there was an official post asking us to check the forum first because there were 51 posts on the subject I posted about!Reason 1 is delay to posts.I have since posted 2 posts about a serious issue with the A340. None of them have appeared AND this issue is not in an official 'bugs' post.Reason 2 is posts not appearing and issues not being answered.Simple response, people post here.Ray Keattch

Hi;Early on, I copied the tip for excluding objects from scenery. (FS 2004)Apparently I did not interpret the tip correctly as I did what was said to do, but the objects are still there. Heres's the tip that I copied:A simple edit of the scenery.cfg should do the trick....you can put an "exclude" around the object. You simply slew to the NW and SE corners of the object (I always allow a bit of buffer room), note the NW and SE lat/lon, and enter the cooresponding coordinates in the exclude statement....here's an example of one:Exclude=N45 30,W120,N45,W119 30,objectsSo -here's how I ammended my FS 2004 scenery.cfg file;[Area.010]Title=Western North AmericaLocal=SceneryNAMWL…

Hi,Is there any update for PM2 Concorde? It looks great in FS2004 but it seems to behave rather "heavy". While flying from EGLL to KJFK, I noticed the nose a little bit higher than in fs2002. Also with full fuel tanks I couldn't make it to JFK. The yaw dumper seems to make horizontal oscillation in it as well. Here's a pic about the nose:

  16. Who wants to get the domain www.scenery-design.info?I've decided to close my website in a few days. Due to my job at Aerosoft and my very large website about bicycle travelling (www.fietspad.de) it's not possible for me anymore too keep my website up to date. Therefore I offer this domain for free to anyone else. The only condition is, that the new webiste on www.scenery-design.info should have something in common with scenery-design. Everyone who's interested can send me an e-mail ([email protected]).Best regardsSasa

More of a poll for those of you who, like me have recently been experiencing stutters in FS9: How many of you have altered the "texture bandwidth" setting in FS9.cfg? I'm wondering if it is possible to set this too high? Maybe fs can in certain instances exceed the ability of the video bus to transfer data, thus leading to errors and stutters. All of my pauses seem to be related to texturing in some context: Changes in visibility due to weather, drawing of autogen and other buildings during flight or approaches to airports, changes in light conditions due to time. What are your thoughts?sg

Just wondering if I look at some screenshots from FS2004, how do the guys get those orange sunsets - I've flown in FS2004 since the release I no where - real weather, industrial area, low clouds, high clouds, humidity, tropical, desert ... nowhere! Is it a setting or what?I'm using a MSi FX5600Pro 256DDR VideoCard.Kind regardsTerblanche

hi everyonelast day i was testing my FS9 and i was getting again enoyed to see that it does not run all my airports that i have and all my aircrafts that i have. i am sick to purchase most of the stuff again, that for what i paid a lot already in FS2002so i thought - what if i could convert my FS2002 to perform like my FS9?i made a safecopy of my complete installation of FS2002. then i started to copy elements from the FS9 to my FS2002finally it was amazing. some elements worked- i tried to copy the ATC file. since FS9 offers much better quality. unfortunately this did not work out :(- i tried with the aircrafts and panels. no luck the technology is different :(- airport …

Hi all,Does anyone how to fix the real weather problem when stations are reporting unrestricted Visibibilty in the European format? You know, in the USA, V10 means unrestricted. Here, 9999 is unrestricted, and the simulator sets visibility to a little below 10 statute miles on sunny days. This happens when you obtain real weather from airports across europe. Not across america. It didn't happen in FS2002. It's a PITA.I can't get it to work.Cheers,Rafa.

Hi All.I'm posting this quierie again as I dont want it to drop down the list.I wonder if anybody else out there using Just Flight's VFR Photgraphic Scenery has this problem. To get the best out of VFR realistically you should fly at about 2500ft in a Cessna (slowish plane) with visibility set to about 5 or 10 miles. It doesn't really matter what kind of weather you have set as long as you follow the basic rules above. In FS2002 these settings worked perfectly and you could have an extremely realistic flight and even check out your own street.I have found in FS2004 that when you set the weather distance in customised weather setting to about 10 miles, rather than the distan…

These aircraft are some great birds and is a must have for any big iron flyer. What I like most about these planes is how framerate friendly they are. PSS hasn't done what many developers do and that's break the wheel when bringing out a new aircraft. What I mean by that is PSS had a winning formula with their A320 series. They retained the basic virtual cockpit (although it's not complete in it's latest incarnation) from the older A320 design (I know Airbuses have the same cockpits) which means great framerates. Many would have redesigned the VC with unnecessary candy due to it being an FS2k4 release versus a 2k2 release and totally blown it in the framerate departm…

Hi everyone,I have a couple of problems with FS2004 ...1. When flying above mountainous areas the fog boundary in the valleys seems to have a hard edge.2. The real weather download always seems to generate a light fog or mist even on a perfectly sunny day.3. I am getting terrible texture shimmer on buildings and trees when flying.I am using DirectX 9.0b and a GF4 Ti4600 with the nVidia 45.23 reference driver.Has anyone got any ideas to fix the above ?Thanks,Sean.
