This is a perplexing phenomena I have no answer for. I have 1GB of ram, and during a busy flight I will show ~320mb of physical ram being used by FS9.exe, a similar amount of virtual memory, another 100mb of physical ram for the OS and everything else, leaving some 580mb or so apparently unused. This seems odd to me! What is the purpose of the swap file in this situation? I noticed most other active processes did the same thing--divide up memory use between physical and virtual memory. I want an OS that uses physical ram first, then goes for virtual ram. Can anyone explain this?Noel

Recently I purchased a ASUS P4C800e deluxe motherboard. I use voice programs such as MSN messenger, roger wilco, etc. The sound works great but I am having problem with the microphone. The first time I installed the latest drivers from the ASUS site it worked fine. Then if I shut down my computer and reload roger wilco, for example, I can hear people talk but my microphone feature isn't transmitting. If I uninstall the SoundMax digital integrated audio under the SOUND,VIDEO, and GAME CONTROLLERS and reinstall the drivers everything is back to working fine again until I reboot and use Roger Wilco again. I then have to do the process of uninstalling all over again. These …

I'm a little confused with the update for Sky World SE. It mentioned that it solved the problem with wide server. I'm assuming that wide server is WideFS. I can not find anywhere else in the documentation where it states that the program will work using WideFS. Does anyone know if this will work? Would you be able to install different clouds via the remote computer? Thanks for any info,Jim

Hi, any help here would be much appreciated. I'm running fs2002 with the frames locked at 30.All the default aircraft and some others--T38 & Sky Crane run fine at 26/30fps in cockpit & spot view. However, I mainly use the Posky & Meljet 747-400 with the PSS PW sound set. When I go to spot view with one of these planes, the fps drops to 2/5 and the sound is very distorted. My sound card is the Creative SB live 1024 with the latest drivers. No point in thinking about fs2004 till I get this sorted. Any ideas?. I really like the "new & improved" Lear45. But I think the default panel is nasty. Hi all,Just been watching my local news, and they stated that Gatwick has been put on standby and many airport services terminated e.g. Railway, due a Delta flight having Hydraulic problems. Due to make an approach within the 20-30 mins.Fingers crossed, they've got excellent weather here, which will prove handy.I'll keep you posted.

Hi all ,Can somebody help me fix my autorudder problems . I use the logitech wingman extreme digital and I can`t get my rudder to function. Switching the autorudder on in realism settings doesn`t seem to work..I`ve tried changing the axis from my ailerons to my rudder and then my rudder comes to live but sadly flying without ailerons is a bit tricky. I`ve checked my devices .CFG and there it says that AutoCoor = true so it should be on. Could there be a spelling problem in my cfg file or is there another solution I`m not aware of.I hope somebody can help....Happy HuntingJona

Hi,I was considering upgrading my video card to a Radeon 9800 (I currently have a GF 4200) but I've been reading about problems (menu flickering, etc.) with the current drivers. I was wondering if these problems affect all Radeon owners or just a select few. So does anyone here have a Radeon that works well with FS9?Thanks,Tony

My last 2 posts in the PSS forum got censored, so I will also post this here.To fix, I need a bit of honesty.First, how many of you with this problem have tried to install the 319/320/321 into fs2004 ( I did, and get the same gauge error)Second, do a search for this file (MSVCRT.DLL), you will find multiple instances of it, I need to know (by right clicking) what version is in your main system or system32 folder.Finally, list your OS, service pack #, and whether or not you have fs2002 installed also. Hi boys, have a strange problem, it is from a po ' of time that I don't succeed in flying in the outskirtses of Seattle anymore. I make sense of better, if I load the scenery in FS2004 from the initial page at the end of the loading the black window it appears me, and after a po ' the simulator suits in error and him recharge. I recently purchased and installed a complex payware commercial airliner for FS2004. Mine is uncontrollable since I added the panel for it. Without the panel it flew very well. With the new panel I found for it, it seems to be out of control. What's the deal with that? It's the new Marco Spada panel. I'd love to fly this plane...but what panel are all of you using with it? Stan

Hello All,I recently upgraded my graphics card from an 64MB MSI GF4-Ti4200 with 44.03 drivers to a 128MB Hercules Radeon 9800 Pro.After 5 days of tweaking and experimenting, I've found no fps performance improvement in fs2004 or fs2002. If I take the default Heathrow (EGLL) as an example, I'd get 9 - 12 fps with 100% Project Ai traffic and fair weather, dense autogen and extremely dense scenery. This was with the Ti4200. I get the no improvement with the 9800 Pro for the same settings.Now I've tried the following suggestions so far after searching through the forums.1. I experience problems with sb and windows xp (freeze the computer) under FS2002. This problem does not occurs with windows 98.what can be...?

During flight, periodically the screen freezes for a a moment or in some cases a few seconds, then resumes normally. During these few seconds, the plane ceases movement, the mouse is not useable, and everything freezes in its present position. This is random, not with any particular cycle. It may do it once during a flight, or several times. Seems to be most apparant immediately after ATC communication, but happens periodically at other times as well. This only appeared in the last few days seemingly out of nowhere. Seems most apparant with the Concord. Frame rates and flight are smooth and without stuttering except for these periods of complete freeze.This has only recen…
