All,I have to conclude that all of the Nvidia drivers that support FX cards have problems in FS2004. This problem appears only when you use full-screen and have AA turned on in the driver setting. AF does not create the problem.Create a Flight menu is blank, except the 3-D model of your aircraft. Also, try going to your View Option menu - I bet that is blank too. These issues do not occur in Window view within FS9.To fly with full-screen and have AA, use the AA enabled within the game, and in the NVidia driver software, set AA = application, and set AF = x2,x4, etc.Or,You can use AA from the driver (disable AA from FS9) but will have to change from full-screen to windo…

  6. Not sure why, but mine is empty! I did have lots of Mesh's in there, as well as Landclass files...wierd, cant figure out what happened to it. My question, I know the Default Folder had a "scenery" and "texture" folder in it, did it have any files from the initial FSCOF install? Wondering if I need to look for a file on the CD, or re-install...Thanks!

Well, well, after 6 months of beta testing and trying to get FS2004 to run correctly, some of which time was spent slightly heated up wit h the MS team on the beta - I have solved my stutter problems and have gained a significant steady frame rate in 2004 with almost all sliders max at 1600x1200x32 on my P4 1.5/512/Radeon 9700 Pro Catylist 3.7 (the very latest ones that just came out). Before stutters would plauge me after the first 10 min of flying. Now there are none and I can fly at over 40fps most of the time with frame rate UNLOCKED. Visually there is no visual diff when running unlocked. What I did (and may not work for you - but who knows)was to just reinstall the …

Wouldn't mind splurging out a bit of cash on a really decent panel/aircraft combo for FS2004. Feel the need for something in addition to the default a/c.What would you recommend? I haven't really been keeping up with things lately. Here's my wants:Completely compatible with FS2004Medium to heavy aircraft, e.g. 737, 767, etc. Would also consider MD-80 or similar.Excellent virtual cockpit (strong immersion factor)Good flight model and accurate soundsThe full whack of avionics including accurate FMC.Accurate external appearanceNot a total frame rate hogThanks in advance.Joe

Is anyone working on an FS2004 model of the new Tiger? After being out of production for some time, this classic GA aircraft that was inspired by James Bede is once again being produced by the newly formed Tiger Aircraft. http://www.tigeraircraft.comTheir modern version of a legendary aircraft would certainly be a welcome addition to the FS2004 stable of aircraft. 15. Hi everybody,Something strange! As my volume is set a little louder than normal, I may "hear" the framerate of the sim (FS2002 and 2004), out of the speakers. This sounds like a steam locomotive (tshee tshee tshee) but the rythm correspond to the actual framerate displayed on the screen. This anoying sound is also to hear, when I'm scrolling an explorer window or a Word document. Deleting a text with the "Backspace" key also does generate that noise, once for each letter beeing deleted...IMHO this sound "eat" performance(?)Can somebody give me a hint, what it is or where to switch it off in the Windows environement?Specs: Dell Dimension 8300/ P4 3.06 GHz/ Win XP-Pro/ ATI Ra…

  17. I will by buying a new computer shortly and plan to have both FS2002 and 2004 installed. My question is what is the best way to install FS2002 on the new machine? - Can I copy over the Aircraft, gauges, sounds folders and end up with all of my aircraft showing up on the new machine ? (I have a home network so this is very easy to do). - What about Scenery, can I just copy over the Scenery folders to get all of my addons transferred ?Any help appreciated, I really don't want to have to go through re-installing the entire set up one addon at a time.thanks,Mark.

Hi Folks: Not sure what to do next. After more than a month of flying FS9 with increasing success thanks in no small part to the tweaks and suggestions here at AVSIM, I now have a dilemma I don't know how to solve. FS9 crashes Windows. It can happen anytime after the first 10 minutes of operation or so. It often happens if I go to a pull down window (for example: I just tried to file an in route IFR change). Windows crashes and reboots. I suspected 3rd party aircraft so I removed all. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the FS9 program but still have the problem.Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should look for next? Thanks in advance.John

I think that on my System (not "hi-end", with ATI 9000), the reason for low fps is not primarily due to limited processing power, but instead due to limited memory bandwidth (or something like that, I'm not an expert) in the graphics card. I conclude this from the fact that with very little clouds, I can move most sliders to the right and still fly at a high resolution (1400x1050) (at least when I'm not flying above NYC or so ;) ) but with clouds it drops drastically, even when there's little scenery around. Here's what helped - I reduced the resolution! This really sounds like a no-brainer, but I never really tried playing with the resolution because most of the time, it…

  23. Does anyone have any information regarding the imminent release of the FS2004 patches for the PSS Dash 8 and A320? It seems the only topics in the PSS forum these days concerns the new A330 / A340 Airbus patches and updates. It's as if the former have taken a back seat. After all the patches were due out by the end of September 2003. This of course was not a promise, but I am very desperate to hear something to keep my anticipation in control...The reason I posted here is because my posts seem to be ignored at the PSS forum and not make it past the moderator.Tom

Hi Guys,I know that there was discussion of the following FS9 issue a while back not too much after the release of FS9, but I wanted to check in and see if anyone has found a "fix" or workaround yet.I'm running a P4 3.2ghz, 1gb RAM, Nvidia FX 5900 Ultra 256mb, 45.23 drivers. With all sliders just about maxed, I get about 25 FPS most of the time. The problem I'm seeing is when flying VFR (4000 feet) over a particular city, I get 21-25 FPS. No problem there. But, when I turn 180 degrees and fly back over that same scenery (MS default), I get about 14 FPS. It's quite frustrating to go flightseeing, and then turn back to land, and all of a sudden, the same scenery gives almo…
