I downloaded/installed Trev Morson's aircraft.cfg file recently to modify the handling characteristics of the default DC-3 in FS9. I noticed the download also included a file titled aircraft.cfg-special-effects.cfg. There was no mention of it in the readme file. Does anyone know what to do with that file?Thanks.Dewey

Hi all,I have downloaded the Richard Probst 727 panel along with the updates(rp727ico.zip, cfrp727.zip, rp727pn4.zip). I'm using it with the FFX/SGA 727, and I'm also using the Charles Fox (cf727fd2.zip) airfile/weight update. Everyting works fine with one exception. The autopilot is no where to be found. Specifically the "ail" and "elev" autopilot paddle switches that are shown in the readme file documents are the ones that I cannot find. I've searched the main panel, along with each sub-panel without success.When I pull down one of the radio panels(the ADF/transponder one), it looks like there should be more there, as the bottom third of the window is just black. …

Does anyone know how I can get A/C to fly with a lot less pitch up. I have all kinds of Aircraft. The only ones that fly correctly are the defaults. I do not like to fly defaults. THX:-violin

Greetings! (again)...I open fs9 with notepad, use the pull down menu to open "all files" type and run searches...no fs9.cfg??I looked inside the Config folder...nope. I see fs9 with no cfg. listing after name. Open it and it looks like reams and reams of code. Certainly not what I was used to when playing with the fs2002.cfg file.It HAS to be somewhere. I see scenery.cfg, I see display.cfg, devices.cfg, I see Johny and Margeret and Phillip and...So just where the heck is it? (Ooooo...no, no. I have tried a Convair 440 whith swedish Linjeflyg livery, based on Tom Gibson/Greg Pepper CV 440 for FS2002. It seems like the rudders react with a 2-3 second delay on the yoke signal. We have a AMD with 1 Ghz processor and NVidia Geforce II MX 400 256 bit 64 MB memory. RAM 256 MB The yoke is a Sidewinder Precision 2 usb yoke.What can I do to reduce the delay?

Hey guys. At our request, the A330 V2 files have been removed from Avsim's file library. This is due to a little dispute with Eric Marciano. We will be rereleasing the A330 with no VC but with wing views soon. I have to figure out what to do with this mess. Hopefully, I'll learn to make my own gauges to use with the VC and then we can release the VC version. Sorry about this folks. I felt it was the right thing to do given the fact that Eric was upset with us.

Hi,I downloaded the "PAI Installer", The "Default Commercial Package", the default GA package (with realistic callsigns) and a whole bunch of airlines packages...For some reason, the annoying default AI (Soar, Pacifica, etc..)is still very much present.I read carefully the Readme file but I still don't get it...Perhaps I shouldn't have installed the "default commercial package" and the "default GA Package" as they might only "upgrade" the default (crappy) AI...Am I dumb ?Thanks in advance for your explicit guidance !!!Twister :-)

Greetings from Poland.Does anyone know how to place passengers (or extra passengers) into FS2K2 or 2K4 aircraft? I notice that one of the default Cessnas has a pilot and front seat passenger/co-pilot. I also see various pilot models in different default aircraft. I'd like to fill a Beechcraft Baron, for example, with five passengers to feel the difference in the way it handles. Or simply to place a passenger in the front seat of the Piper Cub from ACOF. Because it can get lonely up there... Is this do-able? Can one cut and paste from the model's code? Do you need extra software for this? Michael Dembinski of Warsaw, Poland

I am using a FX5200 Video Card from Maddog called the conqueror FX5200 Plus, I have no problems with FS9 apart from one.All my aircraft have no textures only grey, everything is grey including the tyres, AI aircraft are the same this only happensin Spot View. 2D and 3D screens are fine textures are there I am using the 45.23 drivers. I get good frame rates and the sim is smooth only the aircraft textures problem if anyone has had the same problem would appreciate any helpBruce

Hi I was looking forward to try some real weather flying today - and boy was I disapointed.I'm from Denmark and therefore selected the closest airport for me - Vaerlose AB. I sat the time to the real time and let FS2004 fetch the "real" weather..... But no - it wasn't the real weather. In real life the sky was clear and really light blue and the sun was shining. Temp. about 13 degress C. In FS2004 I got partly clouded and visibliity at 16NM. What gives?I have read about fsmeteo and other "weather" programs but do they present a better "picture" of the real world weather here in Denmark?Any suggestions about which one?CheersMarkDenmark

I know that MS cannot, for obvious reasons, put onto FS9 every natural or man made scenic item that exists in the world. However, is anybody aware of how much they have put on or if there is anywhere that provides a full list?Victor

A couple of questions if you could help:What is this AGP8x that the new FX cards come with?What does it do?Where do you see in your DISPLAY PROPERTIES that it's been used?Where do you set it?I've read some posts to disable AGP in Directx - should I or not?The line - TextureAGP=0 - should be added to the DISPLAY setting in FS9.cfg ... does it got to do with the AGP8x or not?Please help with this.RegardsT

Dear Avsim Members, I am having a problem with my FsSkyworld and Real weather downloaded from Ivao.The Problem is that if the metar (let's say LMML)is saying that No SH are observed and that COVOK IS OK,I should see no rain at all,but the thing is that I am still having a rainy weather.Do you think that the cloud settings in FS SKYW are wrong?I have the Autoinstall every 1 min change!Last flight i had was that i noticed Thunderstorm cluds layers in the FS Skyworld menu!Hope that you will help me!Regards,J.ZammitA320 Captain

Ok.Trying to be a "team" player right now. What are the best drivers and possibley tweaks for your current cards.I'm using 44.33 and I have flickering and mountain shakes. Nvidia are suppose to release the official 5x,xx driver. Hopefully this will be gesred to fix flicker, etc...Tim

These drivers will enable anaglyph 3d on almost all directx and opengl games.All you need is a pair of anaglyph glasses. I've got FS9 pretty well tuned at this point, and I am happy with the consistent performance using the default aircraft.However, I have purchased a couple payware planes, and they just aren't usable for me because of the very signifigant hit on performance. For example, I had the FSD commander in FS2002, and upgraded to the Gmax version tonight. I used the utility they provide to transfer the plane over to FS9, and took it for a test drive.Basically, my frame rates were down by 30-50%, and landing was very difficult because of the stuttery performance. I have also tried the dreamfleet cardinal (not yet fully FS2004 upgraded) with similiar results.Now, I fully realize that…

Does anyone know what happened to Project Airbus?They now have an extremely simple website that is no longer updated. The forum is gone.In addition to the amazing A320 they made, they were also making an A318, A319, and A321. I think they also were making an updated Antonov AN-124 and had plans for an AN-225.Anyone know if they are still alive?Regards

I searched for tweaks for my new Radeon 9800, and saw one tip which suggested to add PanelAsTexture=0. Doing so, caused my framerates to drop by 20fps!Just thought I would share.Regards,

I am in the process of building a new P4 3gHz system dedicated to FS2004. I bought a Soundblaster Audigy 2 and I am considering different speaker systems. I was thinking about one of the new 5.1 surround systems such as the Logitech Z-680, but the question is: Does FS2004 offer native Dolby Digital 5.1 support?? Sorry if this becomes a double post but I don't see my original. I recently downloaded the F-16C Fighting Falcon Block 50 'Aegean Ghost' Hellenic Air Force and do not see any gauges light up in the 2d or 3d cockpit. Also, the .pdf note included in the zip has no info in it so I had to use the FS9 configurator to install it. With the exception of just a few "buttons", there is hardly anything that can be clicked or switched in the cockpit as well. Everything else works fine and I've wiped and re-installed several times. Is there something with this download that needs patched?Thanks for the help !!!!

It was quite a windy day today in Toronto. West winds sustained at 22 Kts and gusts to 32 Kts. The question I have is can you fly a Cessna 172, Grand Caravan or similar aircraft in these conditions ? Mark.
