Hi there,Like most of us, I've been tweaking away at FS9 for a few months now. I've found many a suggestion here on the forum and have made a number of changes to my FS9.cfg. Even the most basic of changes however, haven't made one bit of difference. When I changed my video card I booted up FS9 to make sure everything was working correctly and it was. The FS9.cfg was not altered before the boot up. I went in after and changed the details (just for the sake of it). My point is - changing details in the cfg. seem to do nothing for me. For example, I tried altering TERRAIN DEFAULT RADIUS.... nothing changed in the sim at all.Could it possibly be OS? (WindowsME)Boone,"When th…

This subject may have been covered before. I have searched the forums and i have not found an answer. Can any one tell me where 1. Disneyland is in FS2002 or FS9? 2. ******* in Rio Dejanero3. And why does a beautiful airport like Kansai INTL look so terrible. I thouught one reason for no disneyland is commercial rights. If so, does anybody know if there is a downloadable scenery file.

I am probably being dumb here but will ask the question anyway. I can't seem to get vectors from ATC - the most they will tell me via the atc options is which general direction the airport is in.Do you need to have a flight plan loaded before ATC will give you proper vectors to a runway? Anoying if this is the case!I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain this subject to me a bit better than what I already understand.Cheers.

I got FS2004 running good, have many of my add-ons working now and find I spend all my time flying with FS2004. With my limited time, I beleive there is no going back now. FS2004 is the brave new world where I will spend my time till FS2006 or so.

I was wondering if someone could do a landclass fix for Jeffco Airport in Colorado (FS2k4)??? As things are now, the lake that's on the airport grounds dips into or is part of a hole. Almost looks like there's a waterfall or something going on. Go to the airport and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanks...

With an accurate analog panel....It is one of the most popular Part 135 cargo and charter operation aircraft in the U.S., and I'm sure Europe...It is very inexpensive and is a real workhorse, would love to see one...The one in the library is ok, but obviously the detail is lacking. i did as someone said, downloaded the default commercial traffic package and installed it like a regular package, but the AI planes are ther still. can someone help? would it help to deleat the default ai planes to get rid of default traffic as i never fly the default planes?adamYou cant truley understand flying until you have actually tasted and felt it.

Pilots,Need some advice here, I have got a new rig coming this weekend P4 3 gig etc.. with Win XP, now can I just burn my old FS 2k and all its addons from this PC which is currently running Win ME and copy the files straight on to the new hard drive or will it not run without a full install on the new pc?Also when FS 9 settles down I will convert, but I understand the Graphics card I am getting with my new setup might not be up to the job its a radeon 9200, is it worth taking my G Force ti4200 out of this machinecheers for any help.RB211

Does anyone know how to get rid of the visibility line that starts at about 60 ft above gound level when you customise the weather settings? I am sure its not a video card issue because when I use a weather theme I don't get this problem. Anyone have any ideas? BTW I have FSUPIC installed and registered but this has not helped. Colin

Hi AllI have been attempting to use the GPS FS2004 with the Lear 45 without any success in coupling the two programs.Example.Create a Nav Flight plan using the flightplanner IFR.After receiving clearence to navigate on my own activate AP with Flight director but the GPS does not take control over the aircraft have to manually make all turns towards the Nav aid.I have tried flipping the panel switch from GPS to Nav with the same results.Also have tried imputing the ILS Freq. to the 2D panel without any success again have to type the correct freq. into the nav panel.Is this the way the GPS works or Any assistance would be appreciated.Kenny G.

My 1.4 Athlon, 512MB DDR is coupled to a ATI 9000 PRO 64MB. I am trying to minimize the fairly regular pauses (2-4 seconds in duration) when scenery is loaded into memory and the flight can continue. Where will I realize the best bang for my buck...increasing RAM or VC memory? I know doing both is optimal. Which one is more critical?Thanks.Chris

I was trying to install a supposedly FS2004 Scenery version and the author asks that the Nova_Nova gold, VOD textures 3.0 Airport textures,ASD vol 2 be included in the texture folder of FS2004.Is this OK?, Safe. etc.AFAIK aside from the different bgl specs , the mayor problems to porting sceneris from 2k2 to 2k4 are the textures. I have not done anything yet and I have a full back up of the FS2k2 textures. I am waiting from advice from experienced simmers in this Forum before installing it. Here is my problem. I fly online all the time. I love it....but everyone knows that from time to time your flight does not have ATC at the airport when you are landing. It either never did, or the controller signed off mid-flight. Here is where I run into problems. Im using the PMDG 737 with the STAR programmed into the FMC. From the last point on the STAR, how do I vector myself to the right point of the runway I am landing at. Do I need some sort of DME arc? I dont know how to do these. I figure if I knew how to do these, it would save me some agony of a long good flight then a landing without the proper procedures. Are there any good tutorials or web pages th…

Hello all,Is it just me or do the landing lights in FS9 stink? I just landed at night during a thunderstorm and I needed to turn them off just to see where I am going. It looks like the landing lights just create a bright white haze over the textures instead of actually Illuminating the surface. I think it was FS98 when the landing lights actually helped to see in the dark. Ever since then the lights have been just an effect to emulate the look of lights. Anyone else have this issue? or is it for some reason just my computer?

Wow!The highest I've seen my fps has been 13 in a quick flash. Video card runs a little hot but my Alienware Cooling system (6 fans) keeps it under 60 degrees.Anyone having nice results with this beta driver?Tim

Once again, I am surprised at the speed of approach paths into KIAD. This is about my fifth arrival into KIAD this year at what I consider to be high speed and it just blows away pre-conceived ideas about a long slow stable approach to landing in a jumbo.Descending in a UA 777 on a flight from EDDF, we pass KIAD hdg 190 at IAS 250 and about 4000'. We continue at this speed until we reach 2200' and then quickly pull back the thrust, throw out flaps, and a few moments later bank right for the 180 back to KIAD 1L not more than about 6 nm behind us. I'm using Lear 45 in FS9 and I cannot find a way to control the red beacon from the panel. I'm hoping someone can help me.The 2D panel lets me control the navigation lights+panel lights, the white strobe, and the landing lights. The 3D panel also has an independent switch for the taxi lights.If I want to control just the panel light I can use the key command, Shift+L.If I use the L key, it turns on all lights including the red beacon, or it turns off all lights. But there doesn't appear to be any way to independently control the red beacon without affecting the other lights.I also find it odd that the 2D and 3D panels indicate BCN/STROBE on one of the switches, but it onl…

Need help from some of the guru's out here! I have a few "freeware" aircraft I have downloaded and loaded into FS2004. They are all in their own aircraft "folders", ie; 737-800 etc. I have a buddy of mine that has no clue on how to work with folders, editing aircraft config files etc, but would like to have some of these aircraft. Short of downloading, unzipping, configuring etc to his machine which I can do, but I want to try to save some time, can I just copy these specific aircraft folders from my PC to a CD or diskette and then drop them into his copy of FS2004 aircraft folder section? Will they function without any other configuration changes? If there are any othe…

Hello and thanks for reading!I recently upgraded to WinXP (after reformatting my C drive) and updated drivers for my video card (geforce2 MX400), Motherboard, soundcard, joystick, rudder pedals, BIOS and mouse. Then when I installed FS9 I got extremely poor performance. I am not even talking about the flying part either! The menu screen at the beginning loads very very slowly and clicking between screens can take up to a minute! I sometimes am able to get flying but at about 6 FPS at best.I am at a loss to work out why I am getting such a poor response from FS9 because when I was on Win98SE I had no problems at all!
