Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the rotating red beacon on the 727? It is a little overdone to me as it lights up the whole tarmac, and I'd like to get rid of it if possible.Thanks,Tim13

Always seem to get answers here. I put in a new Albertron mother board so of course i had to do the hatefull reformat Now when i go to my directory to see who's working the towers like Toronto-- O'hare or what ever i can get Roger W to come up on any tower but when i hook up to unicom it won't come up but if i go to any tower that's on in the diectory it will switch over but won't do the unicom thing.Thanks Louis ml2488-cva2488--cyyc

While installing JAL flightplans by MRAI I noticed that I need a site where the fleet with their liveries is listed. does anyone know how to get the FS2002 Arrcab arrestor cables software to work in FS9 I hace the FS2002 carriers in and working OK .Does the arrestor sofware need a registration code with FSUIPC V 3.x( like Squawkbox or Servinfo)? Or will it only work wit h a registered copy of FSUIPC?Dave

I think I finally experienced the dynamic scenery slowdown issue, and it's pretty easy to reproduce.I was flying to Mooney into 16L at KPAE. As I turned on final, I noticed my fps dropped WAY down. I went into display settings and moved Dynamic Scenery from Extremely Dense to Very Dense. Fps went back up to about 28. I went back into display settings and moved it back to Extremely Dense and they stayed high. Landed and decided to go around again.On the second pass, I experienced the same thing. A flip of the Dynamic Scenery slider down a notch and back up restored my fps.I will run a Perfmon counter on this tomorrow if I have time and report my findings.Jim

It has come to my attention that the sounds for my pushback & taxispeed gauges do not work properly in FS9.The other functionality seems to work OK.These gauges use the gauge robsound.gau, that was designed by the late Bill Morad, and does appear to be incompatible with FS9 (and even may cause crashes).Unfortunately Bill died last year, so unless someone creates another freeware solution to play sounds initiated from XML gauges, you'll have to do without the sounds.And remove the line:gaugexx = robsound!.....from the panel.cfg file.See also: http://home.planet.nl/~rcbarend/extern/fs9.htmRegards, Rob

Hi, I transferred my Project Mach 2 installation of Concorde from FS2002 to FS2004. It seems to have installed correctly. Startup proceeds normally and she accelerates and rotates as I would expect but soon after takeoff she starts to yaw uncontrollably, then flat spins and quickly crashes. Is this an airfile problem in FS2004 or could it have anything to do with the CG? I find the same problem arises if I slew to several thousand feet. As soon as I hit the 'Y' key to disable slew she soon starts flat spinning and plummets to the ground.My second question relates to the wipers visible in the virtual cockpit. How do I turn them off? its quite impressive, although it slows down to the low teens fps when looking at a busy airport. i counted just over 50 aircraft on the ground at o'hare. im running a p4 3ghz ht1gig ramradeon 9800 128mb proall original Ai and all project AI airlines with real flight times.heres a quick pic of one of the terminals -

I've also seen an improvement in frames after installing the new Nvidia drivers (52.16) and it keeps it steady when locked at 24 f/sec but after flying for about 10 - 15 minutes the stutters are back. Sometime a stutter could take a second and sometimes even close to 2 seconds. It drives me nuts!Is this related to the memory leak that was reported as a bug in FS2004 - or what could cause these stutters?Also something else that I've noticed that are very strange. Is there a system to alert us to ATC messages directed at our aircraft when flying through crowded skies?Maybe a warning sound that I haven't learned how to activate?With many aircraft in my vicinity, and consequently a great number of instructions from ATC, I sometimes miss instructions intended for me.Is there an answer other than constant concentration while listening to ATC all the time?

Hi all,just finished reading the long review oft he FS2k4.What I miss is a coment on:1. does the atc change the active runway with the wind-direction, or are allways all runways avialable for traffic?2. does the atc tell you, you are on the wrong taxiway or on the wrong approach, or is it yelling at you when you fly in the wrong direction or altitude?3. As a non-tech person almost totally fed-up with endless tweaks, downloads, and patches, etc., of everything in Windows and FS, I must confess the latest official nVidia 52.16 drivers are quite stunning. I run a medium hi-end DELL P4 + Ti4600 card, and frames are amazing. With sliders set largely right or 2/3 right and 1600x1200 res, I am getting 35 to 50 fps using the highly complex Ariane 737-300 (no FSAA switched-on) in spot view using Building Storms theme.My cap is now set to the customary 24 (personal preference) and these new drivers are just superb.I was pretty happy with the nVidia 45.20 release, but this one is better because...it just is. For those of you that have finished tweaking and are now flying (be it FS8 or FS9)........No doubt some of you already know about this....for those of you that dont, its a nice challenge for FS.I just looked at a CBS show "JAG" on TV that showed a C130 landing on an aircraft carrier with no brakes (faulty hydraulics) and no tail hook (C130 doesn't have one) by dumping fuel on final approach, (to lower the approach speed) and engaging reversers just before touchdown. And it stopped (with nose peaking over the other side of the ship). I spoke with Microsoft tech support today regarding the problem of no water reflection when stereo mode is activated. I was told that they hope to have this and other issues addressed when they release a patch for FS9. I guess it is safe to say that there will be a patch.

POSKY has outdone themselves with this one, it is superb. I can't find anything wrong yet. I did notice some interesting things though, seems the wheels rotate but only the inner hubs, its convincing but I wonder why it was done this way. Maybe some of the POSKY boys can answer this. Its only noticeable when you are close up, and you want to be with this fabulous model!! The textures are superb, the detail is really nice too. I will get more time with it tonight and Im awaiting Gary's beautiful Delta schemes for her.
