G'day GuysMucking around with the FS9 CFG file and played with the max_unlimited_vis line.Here are some screenies of it set to 41000 instead of the default 241401.Looks very nice to me and gets rid of the divider at distance in the textures which is very annoying at night.This is using the default clear weather with vis set to max on the weather sliders.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/45597.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/45598.jpgI don't remeber seeing anyone using the cfg file to set the max vis.Looks very similar to fs2002 haze which is far better than what i was using before.Any comments?

Hi all,Hope someone can help here. I have just installed the Tu 154 into FS2002 and have a couple of sound files missing. Also all the lights on the airport and plane have black boxes round them. I can live with the missing sound files but would like to sort the lights.Thanks Graham

I am trying to use the new afcad airports, but when FS2004 is loading I am being told that I don't have permission to install new files and that I need to log in as an administrator to complete the scenery add-on. I am confused as I am already logged in as the administrator. Any ideas on how to fix this?

After updating and installation from the 45.33 to the new 52.16 drivers at the NVIDIA sight, I loose my Media Center Icon in the bottom right of the screen, and NVIDIA toolbar in the display properties window which supplied me with tweaking capability.I can roll back to the 45.33 drivers and recover them. Anybody know how to retain this capability with the new 52.16 drivers?Thanks:RTH

I'm getting it on all my aircraft. Even tried the default 747 at 33,000 feet on AP at mach .81. Is this normal? billg

I've benn working hard on the weekend on a couple of sceneries which are quite good, except for the fact that they move the runway from its position and when I start the game on the runway I find myself a couple of hundred ft. from it, and checking the GPS I see I am on the runway. Also the ILS approach shows that I should land where the buildings are.Also I downloaded Luis Monuz Marin airport and the bushes to the right of runway 8 are closer than they are in real life (I must have taken off and landed 20 times in that airoport and I am pretty sure the bushes appear too close in the scenery).Is it there any program that allows to move the scenery, the ILS approach and th…

For example I open the sotck fs9 airport like TNCM change around the parking spaces saveit, restart flight sim ,it then loads up and I still have the origianl f9 parking spots. I must be missing something big does anyone know. I read through the directions 4 times already what am I doing wrong??? thanks for the help

Can anyone recommend a decent soundset for POSKY's CRJ-200's? I had a nice set for FS2002, but the issues with stereo separation here in 2004 made them sound horrible. I'm using the Lear's for now to get by.Thanks in advance!Scott

The turn & slip indicator in my Bell 206 in MSFS2002 has stopped working. The ball sits in the middle all the time. All other gauges appear to be fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to say it's one of the best planes I have scene. I like everything about it accept when sitting on the runway. It bounces about like it's wings are filled with helium or something. Is there anyone else with this difficulty. Also it doesn't roll down the runway well. It can't be the runways fault. I've tried adjusting the realism setting but still it bounces. Please help I really do like this bird and don't wish to send it to the recycler..No doubt about it...Ronson2k

Hey! I'm putting together some airports in AFCAD. When connecting a taxiway to an apron taxiway, sometimes I get different colored textures. Any idea what is going on here? I can't believe I am saying this, but after RW King Air C90 ride at 23,000 the other day, I have to say that MS real weather is better than activesky. I wanted to replicate what I saw with real weather inputs, and I have the most recent version of that as well as the most recent version of FSUIPC, but when I load up Activesky, the conditions are not even close to the current conditions, not to mention bad transitions. I know that this will be solved in version 2, but for the moment, I tried MS for the first time the other day, after quite awhile of AS, and frankly, the internal real weather with updates kicks AS's butt. I have this problem when landing that my planes seem to sink into the runway before crashing. FS does not seem to register that the rear wheels are there at all, and only realises after half my plane is underground. This only seems to happen to third-party aircraft and not the default FS ones. It's not specific to one plane either. Is there a way to fix this problem? It used to do this in FS2002, and i used to get the sim to re-load all the scenery when approaching the airport, and it would work, however FS2k4 will not do this using the same method of altering the simulation rate.This has probably been discussed and resolved before, but my searches have found nothing.Than…

I must say, the things you guys do out there to make this hobby what it is..Lee Swordy's new version of AFCAD is amazing, and extremely easy to use.The first thing I noticed in FS2004 was that runway 18-36 at my hometown airport, KEVV, was misplaced and off by quite a bit.With AFCAD, all I had to do was move it. I have "upgraded" my local home-port to now include a tower, some taxiways, and some ramp parking.I know I have the pnew parking, taxiways and tower working (my test flight showed all these working). But I have no new AI aircraft , as I have defined in TTools.Is there something I am missing in the tower, frequencies, parking instructions?

Hiya.Does anyone use a notebook (laptop for us oldies!) for simming?I'm thinking of becoming a "mature" student, and if I was going to spend the equivalent of US$2000.00 on a notebook, I'd want to sim with it as well.I've been told that a notebook with identical specs to a desktop, the simming experience will always be better on the desktop. I was having all kinds of problems with blurry textures on my Radeon 9800 Pro. Tried slider combinations, *.cfg tweaks, xp tweaks, you name it. Then (doh) I tried lowering the resolution to 1280x960 and everything is fine. And I don't see that much difference in quality (not worried about fps for the moment). I have AA and AF at 8 and most sliders maxed, no blurries anymore, and good quality image. When I switch back to 1600x1200 the blurries return, but I don't see that much of an image improvement when they aren't there. Is this wishful thinking on my part, or is there really not that much of a difference?thxbillg

I gotta credit MS with giving us a great sim, it really does look great. BUT, there are a couple of annoying issues. Foremost of them is the issue with textures and I hope someone can be of help. I've been flying in the sim to some islands including Providenciales (MBPV), Grand Cayman (MWCR) and Guatemala City (MTGG) to name a few and I've noticed that the trees (which arent even native to the area have FALL textures on them! The ground textures are somewhat fall like too. Guatemala manages to include some green palm trees but it looks strange mixed with the fall leaves on the other trees. I have a slight problem, however, and it may be because I've missed some of the recent discussions and clarifications on the installation of the liveries. I downloaded osa332v2novc.zip, and the house color is impressive and trouble-free. With two other liveries (klm_A330-200 and lh_a332v2)the engine nacelles and wheels come through dull gray and untextured, though. Is my problem occurring because I'm mixing up engine type and liveries (that is, the KLM and Lufthansa planes don't use the RR Trent engines)? I have the relair version of the Cessna 1272 (FS9). And as far as I understand it exists since the default flightmodel is bad and relair is supposed to react more like a real Cessna.How about other default planes? Are they also unrealistic like the Cessna? Are there any good replacements for the other in FS2004 supplied planes?
