There I was in Olys Dash 8 at KEWR. Got my IFR clearance to KWWD. Passengers loaded up. Everything good to go. Pushed back at 1835hrs and began to taxi.....and then standstill! I was in a long line, #12. lotsa Continental. some United, and an Air France in front waiting their turn. I had to have burned a good 600lbs of fuel just sitting there. It even rain off and on. I finally went wheels at at exactly 1900hrs. Incredible. What a neat, but long, experience. Gotta love PAI/AFCAD/FS9!!Part of the long wait was that ATC was landing them on the same runway. Is there any tweak/fix to make departing/arriving flights on seperate runways?

I installed the BOS afcad a few nights ag and did some modification.First off (and I knew this before afcad 2 came out) Terminal C,D,E are messed up :) there are two legs to terminal C that are 'T' shaped- they are far too close together- IRL, there are some decent plane spotting areas there with lots of windows, plus there are 3 gates down the shaft of the 'T' Good luck witht he default :)The space between terminal B and C has a gate that can fit a 747- Virgin used to use it for their London departures. Customs is only in Terminal E, so all international arrivals are there.More importantly, the AFCAD is messed up Imho- USA and USAX are sharing too amny gates in terminal …

Am I lost? I just took off from KIND (FS2004 or FS9, whichever you prefer), Indianapolis Int'l, and did some local flying. First, I couldn't find IMS, Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Then I flew over downtown and couldn't find the Hoosier Dome. Do I need to adjust my scenery settings? I have done a good deal of local flying at other cities and so far have found all other stadiums. IMS is a strong visual cue for approaches to Kind (R-22 R & L), not to mention it's size and fame.I have my scenery densities set pretty high (have 2.8Mhz IV, Radeon 9200, and 512Mb). Am I just missing these, or are they just not there.Frank P

HiWhen i upgraded to a giga-byte ga-7vax mobo a few months ago, i installed the 512 Mb's of PC2100 RAM from my previous mobo. However, as the ga-7vax has a 333fsb, i was thinking of upgrading the ram to PC3200 (DDR400). My question is would this be a worth while exercise, ie, would i see any noticeable speed improvement ?Gary

OK...seems that athlon XP1800+ and 3D Blaster FX 5900 Ultra performs well...but...as the wheels touch down FPS touchs down even, 1.00 FPS clean!!!newest detonators 52.16, newest VIA drivers,etc...video settings are anistropic off and antialias at "Application"....intellisample to "performace"...FS graphics seting is maxed exept for weather at default....off: ground extended textures, grund scenery shadows...OK...why performs great until I touch the ground??? drops to 1 FPS until i stop the plane..if i move agin...1 FPS again...I posted this again...but this time I say IT GOES THAT WAY EVEN AT MINIUM GRAPHIC SETTINGS!!! even with default aircraft....default everything!!! 1…

im new to the whole AI and AFCAD stuff. so far i have installed and got working AI only from Project AI. and i also downloaded AFCAD 2. and so far i have got KLGA KJFK and KPHX and put the bgls in my addon scenery scenery folder. is that all i need. how can i check if i got it working properly? i looked at the AFCAD 2 AC file and looked at KLGA and have only seen like 5 gates that have writong next to them and KPHX had a ton of writing next to the gates. and i landed at KLGA on friday and tookoff on monday flying UAL and i used the UAL terminal and it was full of UAL planes because its the UAL terminal. and in FS2004 after putting the bgl into the addon scenery scenery fo…

Is there a reason for some ATC flights not to have the full ATC approach instructions?I setup all flights the same way, with IFR as the default, but do not always get the instructed approach. I am going to major airports, and keeping all ATC communications active, and replying when asked.I accept that if I miss a communication that I am kicked off ATC and have to rejoin the world, so I probably have lost that flight plan. Apart from that I can see nothing else I am doing different between flights, and have even managed to work out Garmin for approaches and all that. I'm getting this error message just recently when I try to launch FS9. Any ideas why or how to fix it? Itried replacing the PANELS.dll module with a friends, it seemed to work once, then back to the error message. I am wondering if I have something wrong.In the King Air with throttle at 1%, prop at minimum, and low idle on the mixture, I get a steady taxi acceleration up from 7 up to around 30 rather quickly once I take off the parking brake Does that seem correct? I can't slow the taxi down except by hitting the brake or moving the throttle into reverse.Thanks,Myles

FS keeps crashing even after installing WinXP Home. I want to see if my cpu is overheating but I can't make heads or tails out of MB Monitor.What does this mean:"Just drag the files you want checksummed into the window and out comes the appropriate info. Hello:I've added a couple of re-paint DC-3 aircraft to my DC-3 directory. Somehow; in doing so, I seem to have replaced or lost the FS2004 default DC-3 "Cargo" aircraft.It must have to do with the aircraft.cfg file and the Texture directory, but for the life of me I can not figure it out.I remove that portion of the the aircraft.cfg file that refers to the repaint(Ozark Airlines) but when selecting variation of the DC-3 (Cargo) from the Select Aircraft menu, the Ozard Airlines DC-3 keeps installing anyway.How do I figure out which of the Scenery directories has the Ozark paint textures?If I sent my DC-3 aircraft.cfg files to someone, could you a edit it so as not to have …

Many thanks to FSD for taking the time to integrate the Reality XP avionics and Garmin 530! I would recommend the Jet Line 2 for FS9 as one of the best $12.95 add-on's available. The instruments are exceptionally smooth and allow those who hand fly the feedback necessary to accurately fly approaches. FSD is the only company I know of that integrates other systems into theirs and passes to the customer for nothing. It is greatly appreciated.The Reality XP 530 is a fairly complete simulation of the real one, and with the exception of a few glitches (Win2k and SP4) early on, works great. The bridge supports ending above the water was intentional. The problem is that the water level is below the "shadow level" (0 elevation in GMAX). I originally had the bridge down to the water, but the shadows were way off. Read thru the scenery design forum for my posts for a better idea of what I mean. It took me a week to figure this out. I decided that most people would prefer proper shadows to a floating bridge.Perhaps there is a way to "bring in the tide"? Oh well, back to the scenery forum...Robert

I have a sneaking suspicion that something isn't quite right with the horizon in my FS9. It seems to be way too abrupt and doesn't blend in enough. Here's a picture of my horizon taken at YPAD, with clear weather theme at 'Day' time, heading 225, FL300. Currently in MelJet 777 BA colors, FL370, M.84, around 493K lbs wt and fuel flow is 18.8K lbs/hr. Winds 270/25. Flight originated KSEA. I am sure this fuel flow too high and that I'll have to ditch or land in China en route. I expected an average FF of 16k/hr. based on my add-on 777 fuel planner.Will I make it? I have recently downloaded a new Airbus A300s panel from Avsim.com - a3bgt_20.zip. It's one of the most complicated panels I've ever seen, but I am getting to grips with it, slowly: on the whole it's pretty impressive so worth the effort (the manual runs to 26 pages!).Is there anyone here who is familiar with this panel and can answer me a couple of questions?1. Can I set the 'Fail' screen so that the option 'Easy Start' is always at 'yes'?
