Hello,IN FS2004, I was on an IFR flight from Copenhagen to Amsterdam. My IFR flight plan was filed in Copenhagen, and I went along the high altitude airways to Amsterdam.Then, as I was approaching Amsterdam, after a descend to 2,000 ft., I was not directed to the ILS for runway 19L, where I was supposed to land according to ATC. Instead, ATC switched to VFR and asked me to report runway in sight???!!!???No, My IFR flight plan had not been cancelled at any time!I am going to get an alternative to the default ATC very soon, as I have experienced so many mistakes and errors in the two months I have been flying in FS2004. Thinking of buying Lyons' Stinson package. For some reason can't find any reviews or screenshots here or other sights. What's the deal there? Do those that have it use it much? How 'bout some photos in the screenshot forum Bear (or others that have it)?

Hello all.When using Flightsimulator 2004 with Squawkbox I always get various illegal dll shutdowns.Most often I get a error with "fe.dll" and "g2d.dll" causing FS2004 to shutdown.This happens ONLY when using FS2004 together with Squawkbox, otherwise the sim runs smooth.I tried various scenarios but both make FS2004 crash: - Using hostsb.dll in FS2004- Using sbhost.exeMy system:Win Xp, AMD Ahtlon 2200XP, K7VT4-4X MoBo, CMedia 8738 Sound, Geforce Ti 4200 with 52.14 drivers (tried 45.23 still the same errors), I even reinstalled Squawkbox, FS9 and WIndows XP... still the same problem.Help would be highly appreciated. I am having trouble banking to the right. Left turns are fine, but the aircraft seems to have a resistance to turning R. I have props and manfolds set equally and both engines seem to be running well. Has anyone else had a similar problem. btw, I am using Trev Morson's airfile and cfg for the stock DC-3...could that be it?I'm writing at work, not home, so cannot test anything. But, maybe someone can give me the answer to my control problems. of course, maybe the DC3 is a democrat, and resists turning to the Right for political reasons...:-)Sherm

I was wondering is anyone else is having trouble getting to the Fly Tampa forums? I haven't been able to get to that part of the web site in like 2 days.

So far I haven't had any problems downloading/installing/flying any planes in FS2004. Tonight I downloaded two excellent aircraft (Milton Shupes AC680, and an Antonov AN-24). Both aircraft contained a seperate guages folder, the contents of which were supposed to be dumped into the guages folder of FS9. Both of these guage folders had guage files as well as 1 CAB file apeice. After installing these files, whenever I fly ONLY these two planes, the stuuters are almost unbearable to fly with. Other than these 2 planes, my flying experience is smooth and a joy. Have I done something wrong in installation? Do you place CAB files into the guages folder (like I did)? Anyone have…

I'm still on a high from an event that I won't soon forget. I'm sure many of you will feel I'm trivializing, but to finally get back into an aircraft for flight, after a 20 year absense, well, it was a blast. I just wanted to share some observations as transposed from flight siming to the real thing. My last flight on any aircraft was aboard a company owned Grumman G2, which back 20 years ago was just about the epitomy of private flight. Hi Everyone,I've noticed that traffic onto some runways start their take off runs fairly prompty while others take ages - creeping along the runway for a minute or so before taking off.I've just finished Olso Gardermoen (ENGM) and planes take off without fuss or delay from runway 1L.I downloaded EGLL off the library and observed planes taking off from Runway 9R. They joined the runway, and then crawled along the runway for 150 - 200m before stopping and beginning their takeoff run. It's really annoying, the number of takeoffs is greatly reduced whilst the queue keeps growing and growing.I've tried modifying the afcad, adjusting the angle of the taxiway to the runway, ad…

There I was, waiting for clearance to cross 27R at KPHL. I had to hold because there was a 737, Fokker 100 and MD on finals. I watched as eached touched down (tire smoke was cool) they slowed and then.....vanished!! The gates had lots of a/c parked, but I was hoping to see some taxiing. Any clue as to why this is? Thanks!

Hey allIve been around this site for years and always found help when I asked; I never complain etc but Im really disappointed that so few of you even looked at my request for help! - sorry.I still have real problems with FS9I get the acontain error all the time now so effectively I cannot run FS9.I have tried deleting the cfg reinstal vid drivers, different drivers, recompile of traffic etc but to no luck?Has anyone else encountered this error??Can anyone help or is it reinstal again (Ive only done that a couple of weeks ago)I cant believe Im the only FSimmer who has had this error surely.Comments anyone?SunWin 2000 pro

Hopefully someone can help me. I started up FS9 today planning on relaxing for awhile but,,, for some reason I have lost the ability to call up different panel views (overhead, throttle, GPS etc) by using the Shift+number keys? I don't have a clue what happened but this is the case in all aircraft, both default and add-on.Any ideas?Thanks in advance,George Stoddard

Hi,Like many of us, I suspect ;) adjustments/tweaks are made in FS9.cfg without really understanding the whys and wherefores. For example, the following 3 entries are often recommended, usually without explanation:RenderToTexture=0TextureAGP=0PanelAsTexture=0Now, if I remember correctly, the PanelAsTexture=0 line sharpened up either the 2D or VC, I forget which, but what exactly does this switch do at hardware/software level?The other lines also remain a mystery, but there they are, added to my FS9.cfg. I installed AFCAD 2 and I installed two Afcad files, YVR and LGA (look great!!).I took off from YVR to SEA and after 5 to 8 minutes, thew sim started to stutter. My fps drops from 19 to 1, 5, 10 and back to 18...and 1 again.Very strange. Someone else had this problem?

Has anyone else had problems with the Posky 757-200 textures not completely loading every time you switch views? If I am in cockpit view and switch to spot view sometimes the right side textures or the right side wing textures don't load. I had the same problem on the ground at dusk when the left side textures loaded but the right side textures and effects did not load. Reloading the aircraft fixes the problem. I am using a GeForce3 Ti500 video card. Thanks, Bob.

If one is using/waiting for the Ultimate Traffic to work with FS2004, would putting Project AI traffic on affect this? Can you use both at the same time, or should one use one or the other/

Hello... Does anyone know of an add-on utility for FS2004 that would permit someone to view all of the planes in a multiplayer situation? I am thinking of a radar like screen used by air traffic controllers to see the planes in a given region. And it would be useful to toggle visibility of AI planes.I have looked in the forums and performed Google searches, and looked at VATSIM without getting any answer.
