Hello,Is there any way to reduce the road lights seen when flying outside ofcities at night in FS9? I'm assuming they are supposed to be car lights but give the impression of one long traffic jam!Victor

Looks like someone made a boo boo. The AFCAD2 file by John Kramer, that's me should be Portland OR KPDX not Kphx. They must have not looked at the airstop code that close.John

After having used Active Camera in FS 2002 and having just purchased it for FS9, I have to wonder who isn't using it. Being able to use the mouse for the virtual cockpit (and all other views, of course), I find it indispensable. And don't forget the head latency effect. It almost makes me sick sometimes. Enough blabbing here...it is in my opinion the best addon for getting the 'feel' of flying that I'm aware of. Any thoughts? Greg in KAVLp.s. now where did I put that glass of wine at......

Hello all... I know it's a bit OT, but since I need a screenshot program primarily for FS I'll ask here. In everyone's opinion, what's the best screenshot program available? I've used the trial of SnagIt and found it to be kinda nice, but the price is a bit steep. I don't mind paying for a program, but a little less than $40 preferably. I've found the price of EasyScreenCapture from LongFine.com to be acceptable ($20), but I haven't heard anything about it.What I need is:A program to sit in the system tray all the time, and when I hit the prnt screen button automatically save an image in a format of my choosing into a directory of my choosing without any kind of water…

I need help...When I use the FS on-line weather, my FPS crashes/and the sim stutters horribly. With clear skies on the weather theme I can hold a steady 19 - 20 FPS but if I use current weather...slide show and stutters. FPS in the 4 - 8 range. Even if there are no clouds in the on-line weather it stutters. Seems that no weather in the cloud themes is actually a 'null weather' where no clouds in on-line is a 'zero weather'. They only way not to crash the FPS is to use the clear skies weather theme. So, here is my story. I'm a college kid in the midst of flying lessons (when i can afford them!), and i picked up FS9 as a fun flight-oriented distraction. I ended up getting hooked, and played a lot of FS9. Ever since the switch from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time last weekend, my copy of FS9 has not adjusted properly.Anyone else experiencing this problem?Some people have mentioned that their scenery re-indexed, as did mine, but I cannot get my FS local time to synch properly with FS GMT.I've read about the utilities that are out there to fix the timezone problems, and I've tried them, but still no luck in getting FS to understand Standard Time is now in effect.Bare with me as I give you an example and perhaps some of you that think your clock is OK can check this out and find that you also have a problem you'd didn't realize was there.I'm located in the Pacific Time…

I blew away my FS9 installation completly and started a nice re-orginization of all my Flight Sim Software....I re-installed and followed pretty much One Tin Solders tweaking guide but now I have a pretty severe pause that happens when im flying. My Frame rate is steady at around 19 around KSEA which is pretty good while im in VRF mode I hit well over 20 when im High Altitude but the pause or stutter is killing me....I have looked at all the usual places and I cant seem to find the issue. I have a strange problem. My Fs2004 Views are cycling every few seconds and I cant seem to stop it. It jumps form cockpit->virt cockpit->tower->spot plane-> back to cockpit. Anyone know how to stop this madness?

Well, I found it interesting, and the joy of these forums is that I get to bore you all with it too!I've flown into my local (NZWN) a hundred times in FS8, and I've always had the same approach path given to me by ATC from TOD. Always from the West, and it never varies.However, tonight I was approaching from the usual direction (small country!) and Lo and Behold, ATC directed me across the face of the airport and gave me an approach from the East.This is unprecedented, and quite frankly, very exciting. Greetings,Recently when flying any aircraft or from any airport, the sound quits on me and the framerates go down to 0 or 1 for a period of time. The sound never returns but I am able to fly around and switch aircraft and airports. It tends to happen when switching views and it happens within the first 5-10 minutes of being in the sim.Interesting to note that it effects my entire system's sound. I no longer have ANY sound in Windows. Restarting the Sim doesn't fix it. I actually have to reboot entirely to get sound back.Thanks to all for your assistance!

Off and on I've heard of people having problems with door and engine selection. The most common example is using E+1 to select the left engine and then E+2 or E+1+2 not working (only engine 1 remains selected). A similar problem exists with door selection. I had this problem myself, and since I prefer to start engines manually, it was quite frustrating. I spent a long time trying to fix the problem. I am building a new FS9 machine. So far I have a new ASUS P4P800 mobo, a P4 3gig(800fsb), 500Watt PS, and a Radeon 9800pro.All that is left is the RAM.I figure I will get 1gig of PC4000 or PC4200 dual channel DDR ram.Is there much difference between generic brands and brand names like Geil? I'm thinking of buying either CH Flight Sim Yoke DLX or a less expensive Joystick.Is the Yoke worth the money? I have heard that it has some problems with yoke being stuck and not moving smoothly. Hiya, Just curious as to how I would set up a VFR flight on Radar contact? What if I just wanted to take off and fly around under VFR? What if I wanted a VFR flight plan? Radar contact always wants me to recieve an IFR clearnence and starts vectoring me. How would I set a flight out of Honolulu, fly around the Island for a while and then return to Honolulu, with the ATC telling me vectors out of PHNL but then letting me do my own thing after I am out of his airspace? At the moment I can only set up IFR flights!Thanks

Dear all,I have two issues with FS2004.First: I understand that pressing Shift+E+2 will open the second exit for planes that have them. However, sometimes it works, some times it doesn't. I have tried every possible combination in pressing those keys Slow, fast, soft, hard, etc..ect...), but still get the mixed result. Sometimes the second exit opened, or I keep getting "Main Exit Open/Closing" message as I repeatedly pressing Shift+E+2 keys.Second: I also experienced mixed result with pushbacks.
