Hi. I've been an avid fan of FS2K2 since it came out and have become proficient enough to create my own planes, edit cfg files, and so on (wow, how impressive!!), but inevitably I'm looking at FS2K4 (if late in the day). I have a few questions though. Hope people can help with some or all:1. Can FS2002 and FS2004 be installed on the same PC, if in separate partitions, for a 'transition period'?2. How many of the dozens of aircraft, repaints, panels, scenery upgrades and so on that I have downloaded from AVSIM and elsewhere are likely to work in FS2K4?3. Is there an upgrade for Ultimate Traffic for 2004 yet? Don't want to waste my 200MB download!4. Will FS Sky work in FS2K…

I downloaded a US Airways 757 by POSKY and it will not show up in the game. I can not figure out why anyone know what is wrong?Here is the first part of the cfg file for the US Airways plane. The Orange circled region is where setted to Gate.The Blue cicled region is where setted to Dock & parking.As you see, only Gate have aircraft parked there while others do not.This happen to my Afcad for vhhh too.Both of the Gate,Dock & Parking 's parking type is Gate Large & radius setted to 43m.Any idea what's going on?Thanks for your help firsthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/46565.jpg

Hi thereI remember the "lock to" option for FS meteo was in working order for the FS2k2 edition of FS meteo but i can't seem to lock the current weather to an aerodrome of my choice with the 6.3 version.How (if still possible) do i lock the weather to an airport of my choice ?Thanks! :-)

Not sure if it's the right forum, but here goes. In creating a flightplan for use with traffictools, do you have to enter a correct arrival and departure time for the second leg. See, I only have the arrival times for one airport, Gatwick, which is really the only one that I'm interested in. I know when the planes arrive at Gatwick and I know from where, but I don't know at what time they left the other airport.Also, can you enter a 48Hr or 72Hr cycle, some planes arrive 2-3 times a week and not every day or only once a week. Is there a way to specify a day for the planes to land, for example tuesday?

Hi all. Just wondered if I bought FS2004 if my simflyers scenery (KIAD, KDFW, KLAX, EDDF) my UK2000 scenery (EGLL) Active sky and Radar Contact as well as the CIVA INS and VMAX 747, and SSW A310 will be compatable? It will all still work right? If so, do you really think that its worth the trouble reinstalling it all? Can I have FS2004 and FS2002 on the same hardrive? ThanksRichard

Here's an interesting problem that I've been having with FS9 and FSMETEO.If I happen to exit FS9 BEFORE I exit FSMETEO, I will ALWAYS get an error box (to send to Microsoft) that FS9 encountered an error in WEATHER.DLL.Another interesting that happens is that if I choose to restart FS9, I also get a message that FSUIPC.DLL is still running and that I need to exit it (or something like that).This doesn't happen if I exit FSMETEO before I exit FS9, and this problem happened after I upgraded to the free FSUIPC 3.08 and is still happening with FSUIPC 3.10. Hi!When I fly over the water in FS2004 with water detail set to "high", I've noticed that the reflections seem to "rotate" in a strange manner.Is there a way to have the water so that the textures aren't shuffled, so that the waves on the water appear static?Thanks for your reply in advance!James

OK...so your FS performs that good you don't believe it..then your wheels touch the ground and...AAAGHHH!! sudden FPS drop at 1.00..a really amazing performance...can't go that low even with the oldest system available. So, If you have a Force Feedback joysstick, the problem might be there: you see, 1 FPS when rolling, but you don't feel the ground vibration...stop the plane, and again good performace...for me this happens with a MicrosoftForce Feedback 1 joystick plugged int an SB 128 sound card...may be also linked to sound cards?? When I start fs9, I get the message: Software 3D Enabled. Your computer cannot currently use 3-D hardware acceleration as it has less than the required amount of memory.Software 3-D mode has ben enabled. Some graphical feautures may not appear in software mode.I also hav'nt got all the lines in fs9.cfg, as the ones about the graphicscard are missing.I didn't have this problem before, but that was on a smaller harddrive.Can you help me?thanks,Flying

Well, I had to give this a try, the aircraft is too good to ignore! Noticed a few others asking questions, so will give my experience using it in 2002.Used one of Ben Hewitt's BA paints and ran a flight from London Heathrow to Aberdeen. I used the aircraft "straight out of the box" didn't tweak a thing.On the whole, it is superb!! Performance wise, the visual model is better than some FS2002 designed aircraft, switch to the outside view and the textures snap up in the blink of an eye. FPS are excellent also.In terms of flying the aircraft, I didn't notice any significant difficulties using the default 2002 777 panel. The aircraft climbed easily to cruise altitude (wh…

Hi guys!Can anyone help me please???? Since yesterday my flight sim doesnt work properly.When i run flight sim the create flight screen is black and just only see the aircraft pic. If i put it on 800x600 its ok but not on the 1024x768.Please help.

Yeesh! I was feeling so nice about how FS2004 has run on my machine since installing it months ago. I remember thinking then, "I wonder how this will be when the nastier weather starts . . . ." I'm afraid I got my answer this evening, flying from Chico, CA to Arcata at FL18 in the default Lear 45. Rediculously poor performance. Oh, it was flyable all right, but gone was the liquid smooth I was enjoying previously. I always keep Augogen at High Density, always run clouds 100% full 3D with max distance, but usually medium density. I tried downloading the base package AFG YS11 for 2004 form the AVSIM library and as soon as the the download is around 85% complete it quits. Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem? Ive been downloading files for years and this is the first Ive ever encountered anything like this. Any help will be apreciated , this is one of my favourites. Thanks in advance Nick

Three days ago I registered and received confirmation of approved payment. Their web site states "e-mail registration code sent within 24 hours". I've followed up twice and still have nothing - not even an acknowledgement. Anyone else have problems registering Lago software?

I've recently been worried by the complete lack of a realsitic horizon. Rather than a nice smooth gradient between the sky and the hazy ground in the distance, wit's a horible straight line.I was flying today in reduced visibility and the same thing happens. The horizon is now nice and smooth, but there is a straight line (see the enclosed pic) where the visibility has been reduced.I'm in the process of upgrading my ATI Radeon 9000 to an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. Hi all, is there a freeware texture converter program to convert the Posky 757 textures and IDFG MD-11 textures to DXT3 format? It takes some time to load the textures on the aircraft and then the world textures get blurry and take about a minute to get sharp again.Thanks,Bill

Hiya all,I have a question:I have just edited the EHAM parking spots for what it should look like at Schiphol, not a Martinair Heavy B763 at a F100 stand or at Ibiria's stand.But when starting Fs2004 it does not like I have aranged it so thay are parked all over EHAM. So it's not like my arrangement.Does anyone know if I am doing anything wrong here.ps. the file has been saved in AFCAD EHAM.BGL after the edit.regards,L.Jim

Hello,I am wondering how the total weight of the airplane can be found, once all passengers have boarded and all the suitcases and catering items have been brought in.On a flight in real life, after boarding, it was found that the airplane was a few kg too heavy. Therefore the crew had to unload some of the catering, like water etc.How can the aircraft weight its own weight? I have never seen a weight in the airport, either.Also, how can the crew know the weight of the passengers, and know which passengers sit in which side of the airplane, so that they can compensate for any differences?Thanks in advance to anyone who has the answer.Kind regards,Nico

Hi fellow flightsimmers!I just have to say that the last two downloads I've made are some of the best ever! The freeware Decathlon is one, and Bill Lyons new calm water textures are another.The Decathlon seems to fly incredibly well, and I've found myself inducing spins I almost couldn't recover from! The visual model also looks superb. I can't emphasise enough that if you haven't got it yet, go get it!
