I've seen this issue posted here and there and I've got the probelm too. Can anyone help? fs9 real weather static - sets up fine, flight goes OK (the usual probelm with fs9 tranparent clouds), but on arrival, seems like the destination weather crashes...winds and visibility are always preserved but clouds go CLEAR. I've tried this alone and with active sky cannot get my destination to be right. thanks for any help

Flying the Lear at FL410 on IFR flight plan, about 14 miles east of Boise (BOI VOR,34 deg From radial ) the sim crashes to desktop. After re-setting the flight, it happened again. I saw a previous post where someone speculated that this may be caused by add-on landclass scenery, but I am using the default landclass. Anyone else know about this and/or have a fix? Thanks.Bob

Hi All,OK - here's an interesting one.....I was taking a flight from Pincher Creek, Alberta to Calgary Int'l and when I was cleared to land for runway 16 I opted to select another approach. I selected ILS runway 28 and was told:"Cessna C-FMIK cleared ILS 28 transition YC circle to land runway 16."I re-selected my approach and received the same clearance!? I puttered along and when I was told to contact tower as I was turning final for 28, Tower instructed me to enter left base runway 16.I landed on runway 28 anyway and as soon as I touched down, tower told me to contact ground.I can't figure this one out :-lol. Anyone else experience this??Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/…

As I hate auto-installers with a vengeance, I popped over the ISD's site to have a look in the forum there to see if there were any relevant posts to my captioned question. Sure enough, there are plenty of posts, alright, all from people with problems with the self-installer. I tried to register to make my own post but their registration doesn't work - for me, anyway. So ...... does anyone know if it's possible to install this new Irish scenery manually? It's not clear to me whether it will start making changes to CFG files if I use the autoinstall, and I don't want that.Any input appreciated ... forgive my hesitation, but out of four self-installers downloaded from A…

Hello! :DBeing a resident of the Netherlands, I of course have started my Flight Sim playing around the Netherlands scenery in FS9. But as some of you will know, it is rather Empty, flat, sparse and overall boring. So I am looking for an interesting place to fly. There are many places that might be promising, but I want to make the most of it, so I am perhaps not satisfied with the FS9 defualt scenery. Personally I think I might start by getting all that addon scenery for England by Flight1, and start to explore that.. but I have not found a good mesh yet for England yet, and I would very much like to make it look as good as I can when I fly, so I would also use a mesh.…

I have always used freeware in FS2002 -- but invariably ,as good quality as some freeware is, it seldom includes any comprehensive aircraft operating flight data or manuals. So I decided to purchase my first piece of payware -- the Dreamfleet Cessna 310L.I am very happy with the aircraft -- the way it looks and flies - and thought that I was also very happy with the documentation. EXCEPT -- that I have now discovered that much of this documenation is irrelevant to the aircraft provided. Thirteen pages of flight data are provided for a normally aspirated version of the 310L -- but of course, the aircraft provided is actually a turbocharged version. So the data provided appe…

I have just purchased the Dreamfleet Cessna 310. I notice in the manual that it says that this model is turbocharged and can reach flight level 30 - but It also says that the 310 aircraft was unpressurized. So how does this all work in real life? The a/c can take 6 people. Thanks Barry

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems using the FFX/SGA 727-200's or the DC-10's in FS9? Even with the updated aircraft config, I almost run out of runway getting the 727 up to speed enough to rotate. And the DC-10's - I've never been able to get airborne at all, no matter what the flap settings (at over 180 knots).Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really want to get the DC-10's going in 2004.Scott

I hope someone will be able to help. Since installing the update for Nvidia drivers from the MS website and then subsequently the new NVIDIA drivers, my ground and building textures have turned extremely fuzzy. Have deselected AA from the Nvidia control panel and am using it from within the sim and visa versa. Have tried all options but have obviously missed something. Does someone know why this would be happening? This is extremely annoyingI have an Athlon 2200, GF4 4600Ti, 1GB mem, - there should be no hardware issues. All was fine before until nowThanks in advanceErich

My question is not on how to format but Flight Sim related. Like many of you I have played around with all the Nvidia drivers and tweak settings. It's just that time to do a clean install and I'd like to hear from someone who has similar specs like mine. My System:Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev2 400FSBAMD 2.7 @ 2300 Ghz 200FSB G4 TI4400 128mbWD 80gb HDAudigy 2CH Yoke and PedsEtcAny way, I'm going to install WinXP Pro and I'm thinking of leaving SP1a off this time. The reason being, if I turn on FSAA, I get the FS2002/4 menu blur issue regardless of which drivers I use. I'm also looking for the best Nvidia drivers to install. I was thinking of the 30.82 or maybe to 40.xx series. Wh…

Dear allSome might find this interesting. Where I jumped in, in German: http://www.heise.de/tp/deutsch/inhalt/te/16369/1.htmlIt's basically about dumbing down of aerial and satellite pictures showing federal buildings at www.mapquest.com. The procedure is being refered to as 'UnEyeballing.' Watch out: following links contain a lot of imagery. Dial-up will take 5-8 minutes to load the entire pages. An org apparently monitoring satellite imagery is www.cryptome.org But this page doesn't work right now, at least for me. So I couldn't shed more light. Maybe somebody else can? However, this page: http://cryptome.org/tri-eyeballs.htm did work and contains some very pretty shots…

Hello,A true newbie pilot question!!!!! I can fly almost all of my a/c OK. Now it's time to learn a lot about planning!. There appear to be a number of airport runways that show up on my FSNAV map as having ILS. When I get there, I find that there is an ILS signal but NO GS signal. Is this correct or am I missing something. I have planned a number of training flights into airports (say KSEA->KSFO) and tried to guess ahead (training only) at a runway. I choose 10L and when I get there I find an ILS freq that has no apparent GS. My autoland on the 737NG (PMDG) does not acquire and I have to abort the landing. I tried the same landing with a default A/C and when I switche…

I have an AMD XP2400 based machine with 512 meg DDR ram and a 128 meg Geforce4TI4200 vid card -- BUT I only have an el-cheapo Creative Vibra128 sound card. I only use a couple of PC stereo speakers with a sub-woofer and I am happy enough with the sound - but I do notice some strange crackles and pops when using FS2004 that I don't get in FS2002. I will admit to running my scenery and weather details in FS2004 a bit higher than I used to in FS2002 -- can't help myself , the eye candy all looks so good.So I am happy with the actual sound output of my existing card -- but am wondering if I am losing any Sim performance (maybe causing the crackles). Thanks Barry

Hi all, could anybody familiar with editing FX files perhaps tell me which parameters inside the effects file to edit in order to create some thick black exhaust smoke especially for older airliners? I checked several smoke files available from various sources, but would like to tune them even further. Thanks!

Hi,Am occasionally having problems with what I think is excessive turbulence / unrealistic wind in otherwise relatively calm conditions using Fs9 real weather. A while ago I believe I fixed this when in static mode by editing the weather settings manually and matching up the wind speed with the gust speed so it was wind 15kt, gust 15kt rather than default wind 15kt gust 0kt which seemed to be always causing the problem. Anyone ever experience a similar kind of thing / use a similar 'fix' and is there much I can do to fix this globally (would consider addon also but computer isn't too fast...)Any help appreciated.Thanks,P.
