Payware or Freeware - complete package 2D and VC panels - what are your favorites? I've been flying Mike stones B1900 and like it, but I want something more technical. The Frolov's Dash8 is good (well FANTASTIC), but I'd like something a bit more cozy. What I'm really looking for is a Beech 1900 or a Saab... Any tips?Thanks!sg

After reading Tom A's fascinating tale of a flight in this a/c from Anchorage I just had to give it a try.I've just been Broadbanded (ouch!) and managed to get my machine and my wife's networked yesterday. So, the d/l of this superb looking a/c at 20+MB was quite painless. I applied for BB over a year ago but the situation of our house was marginally under the 5.5km radius limit so, sadly, no go. Hey guys, I just need some quick response here, Im probably doing 1 tiny thing wrong. Basically Ive started a repaint on this module and now the textures aren't coming up correctly. In the paint kit there are two sections - bmp files (in the main texture folder) and a subfolder with psd file types?? I started painting on the psd files, should I have done this?? If so where do I go from here, i.e. what to I do in terms of saving etc. OR have I completely messed up by using the psd files. Someone please help me! Thanks!Im New! Can't you tell?

I want to do a clean uninstall of FS2004 then do a clean install. What is the best way of doing this? I want to clean everything out and start over. I've been adding more and more planes and scenery, that I would just like to start over. My wife tells me I have compulsive add on sydrom :-yellow1. any help please. Bob McDuff

I accumulated in FS2002 an extensive list of low frame rate AI aircraft, courtesy of Aardvark and Project AI.These slowed everything down when selecting an aircraft to fly - as the Select Aircraft dialog boxe was preparing itself to show me a whole load of aircraft I didn't want to fly anyway.The answer was to edit the AI aircraft so that they didn't appear on the Select Aircraft menu - I remember using an aircrft editor to switch a flag to make them AI only.When I switched to FS9, I deleted a lot of FS2002 related programs (perhaps unwisely!).The long list of AI aircraft didn't reappear in FS9 until yesterday, when I put in a lot of effort to update the AI planes for the…

Does anybody know if the "Instructor Station" feature of FS2002 can be used with another machine running FS2004?? I understand that it does not come with FS2004 and I use it quite a bit with FS2002, running on a seperate machine.Thanks!!Flightsim Phil

Folks, I have a 1 ghz athlon cpu, 512 mb ram and a Nvidia 32 mb DDR. Needless to say the framerate in fs9 is pathetic (5-7 at EGLL, and 15 fps in airports with low traffic- all siders are very low.) I also run Ulitmate Traffic that needs atleast a 64 mb video card? Would it make a tangible difference if I upgraded to a 128 mb video card? If yes, how do I find if the video card is compatible with the system and how do I install it? Thanks much in advance. I will not be able to upgrade my computer for at least a year and am dying to get flying again.

I'm running a Radeon 9700 pro, and recently i've been downloading all kinds of scenery stuff to try to improve my FS9 visual experience.I've had great success so far with the Blue Planet stuff, and the "Water-My Recommendations" thread. the new FSW night lights are great as well.I'm running into a little problem that i don't think i should be running into, though for all i know it might be a flaw in FS9. My horizon is not actually at the horizon level. It cuts off abruptly at maybe 50-70 miles away from my viewpoint. My system struggles a bit with FS9 - it has only a Pentium 4 2 ghz, but I've upgraded to 1gb of DDR RAM and an nVidia FX5900 video card with 128mb as a stop gap until I can afford to go to get back up to a top spec machine.I've followed through a lot of the tips and tweaks in this forum and generally getting acceptable frame rates (under the circumstances) of between, say 18 and 25 - having started with 7 to 12 at times!It appears to me that weather and clouds are a big factor in frame rates and the compromises I have had to make include loading various of the smaller, less demanding cloud sets which are around and moving the weather sliders back to the right, at least to…

I may have been hard on these guys in the past but they out did themselves on this new 1.2 version. If I'm not mistaken I would say these took a successful stab at simulating Fly-by-wire. The way the aircraft handles is just spot on. I love the detail that was put into the autopilot. If you have your heading set and decide you would like to manually make a turn the autopilot's heading automatically disables when presser it put on the yoke to turn the aircraft. Hello all,I download a panel for FFX-SGA Boeing 737-800 and the readme says that I can press the keys 5 + 1 with numlock activated to get a nice left wingview and 5 + 3 with numlock activated to get a nice right wingview.Ok, I pressed the keys and it really works.The question is: This key combination is mapped by default in FS2004 ? Or it is somehow coded in this model of FFX/SGA?I'am trying to understand how this can put my eyes over the wings, once there is anything explicit on the panel.cfg file.Any help appreciated.

Hi,as far as I know, comercial pilots plan a trip from the departure rwy up to the rwy they intend to use at the destination airport. Yes, there is a chance that there are changes until arriving the destination but if I haven't filed a flight plan in FS9 I allways don't know the active until I can contact the tower at the destination airport. Is there a way to determine the active rwy(s) at a particular airport at the time of planning a flight?Thanks, Tom.

I am running XP Pro and want to update my video drivers. I have read many posts that say you can just install the new drivers over the old ones and others say to remove the old ones. What is the straight scoop? What is the best method of installing the new divers? What drivers work the best with the GeForce 3 Ti500? I want good graphics and stability for FS2004 at 1280x1024x32.
