Okay here's a new one that just started, and I have no idea why.If I leave the Render to Texture box unchecked, I cannot load FS. It hangs up at the 77% mark when loading the weather. If the "Render to Texture" box is checked, then it starts up just fine.Has anyone else experienced this wierd phenominom or have any idea on what may have caused this?Thanks a lot,

Hi folks, I've usually avoided the default Baron, Mooney and some other aircraft because they seem slow. The Baron, for instance will only do 130 kts IAS at 25 inches MP and 2500 RPM at 3000 msl, and the Mooney 136 at 37"/2400rpm. These ac are supposed to be much faster, around 200 kts IAS. I've been messing around in AC cfg files and discovered a section called (Flight tuning) (square brackets). In this section there is a setting called parasite_drag_scalar, set at 2.5. I've been playing with this setting and found that if it is reduced, more realistic speeds can be had. My present settin for the Baron and Mooney is .8, which gives an ias of 194 for the Baron and 1…

I absolutely need a radioltimeter and a dh display, and if possible I would also like something more "advanced efis" like, at least some flight mode annunciator on the eadi. Having trouble landing on an aircraft carrier in CFS2. Hook down, gear down, speed right, glide path right, flaps down. LSO shows I am in right form, then I get to deck, cut engines and tail hook never grabs. Tried many times. Obviously there is something I'm not doing. Maybe more of a flair than usual? Any suggestions are welcome. I posted in CFS forum but not many people stop by there.Miller

i have a problem with my fs2002 pro. ;( 1: the prob began as i started to repaint one aircraft. the aircraft was correct displayed in fs and i could fly this. but, somtimes during go around with my coolie hat or just during the flight or after landing, the fs crashed to desk. also i modified the panel.2: then another problem occured: i have several planes installed (small bizjets like lears and beechjet). now i dont have engine sounds in fs. all the other sounds like gearwarning, flaps, a/p disconnect and so on are still working.3: after installing flightmax, fs wasn

Hello,I use FS9 in part to supplement my real life flight training. I find that the virtual cockpit view gives a much more realistic feel to the movement of the aircraft in flight. I use the 172 btw.I was just wondering how I can get rid of that annoying propellor animation, I find it really distracting especially when I look offscreen.Is there any simple way to do this?Your help is well appreciated, thanks,

I'm a little confused on the new night textures. there is one file on AVSIM called fs2night and there is one on put out by FSW called fs2k4gnight. Which ones are better? Are they by the same author? Everyone is raving about them, I just want to be sure I got the right ones.

Hi guys,I was a little surprised when I stumbled over some freely available VFR scenery of the area I'm from. Hi all! I saw this scenery while looking at planes and i thought its really cool and i really want it :) Can u tell me the name?

Guys,I would like to limit my maximum visibility to only 10 miles. When I try, though, I get a white/grayish sky, instead of a blue sky with a haze layer that obscures the ground beyond 10 miles. When set tpo 20 miles I get a nice blue sky and the desired effect on ground textures, but for hazy, himud flying in South Florida I'd like to see what 10 miles looks like.Am I doing something wrong or is this the strange way MS impliments limited visibility in FS2004? Good Morning!I just installed FS9. I was able to run it briefly but with no 2D panels in any of the aircraft. After I got out of the program and back in, now all I get is a fatal error complaining about the Panels.dll file (sorry I didn't write down the exact message). I can't even start the program now. I tried searching the cab files on the disks and found an earlier version of the panels.dll file in cab3 but after replacing the current one in the Modules folder I still got the same result. Should I return the disks to the store and get a fresh set? I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it twice now. I am running Windows ME, I have installed DX9 and the Window…

First let me say that I have a very fast system and have not had the CTD experience until this past week. My CTD was consistantly happening while flying across southern BC flying between Calgary and Vancouver. It didnt seem to matter what I did for settings it was consistant. I tried the German Patch- changed my Terrain.cfg file several times and even added the german texture files all with neg results. The CTD's still persisted. I tried flying at different times of the year because a lot of people seemed to suspect the seasonal texture files. That didnt work either. My son received a stand alone copy of FS2004 for Christmas for a second computer that we have.As I watched him, I realized he has fuel pits at most airports that I didn't ever recall seeing in the copy that we run on our FS computer.I've deleted all the installed add-on scenery but still no fuel pits. The only thing left added on (other than aircraft) are the DEM from FS Genesis, the textures from Bluesphere and the Airport Environment Update (Chris Arrington?? I think is the author).Can anyone tell me where these are stored? Now that I've seen them, I'd really like to have them in this one.BobL

Hi,Sorry to come back about this problem and thanks to those who didresond with help.My problem with FS2002 is that all the airport ILS`s, have changed,maybe to FS2004 bearings although I have since disabled all airports and deleted those of a FS2004 type without any success.The ILS bearings did return for a short while to normal but are nowall incorrect again. Similarly, the airport VOR`s are off by around110 degree`s the same as the ILS.Clearly, something has changed all airport ILS`s so can anyone give a steer where such information is kept and whether it is possibleto revert back to the correct ILS bearings. I just set up my ABS X-5 and I have to say WOW. I just did a base install of FS9 and PMDG 737 NG and I took off from Seattle with all sliders maxed and I never went below 22.My last system a P4 1.9 with a Ti4200 64 meg never made it beyond 6.I set weather to real and then to heavy rain and I did not see much of a difference.I am totally in Flight Simulator Heaven.I did upgrade to the catalyst 3.10 since the new rig came with 3.8.I still need to install all my SIM FLYER Sceneries and Ultimate Traffic.I have to say this was worth the $$$.As some of you know I did alot of research and asked alot on here which way I should go and I feel so far I made a good choice.Thanks for …

I've dicided to take time out from flying IFR, and do some good old VFR flying with nothing but a sectional, plotter, stopwatch, and paper & pencil. In otherwords, no GPS, no VOR and no ADF.I'm going to use the F1 C152 and recreate my cross country flights from my PPL training days. I have a current sectional for my local area, and it shows the current magnetic variation, but I know the data in FS isn't current. How do I look up the magnetic variation in FS for a given airport?

What is the default key (or combination) to toggle the view to the nearest AI traffic? Or does someone know what command it is in the control->assingments menu is? I seem to have lost it and can't get it working anymore. Thanks!-drew

When I use the Dreamfleet splash screen randomiser (SSR) in FS2002, the pictures are as big as my desktop. However, with the SSP 1.2 by Geoffrey Schreiber for FS9, the pictures shown are smaller. I have tried various ways to enlarge them but in vain. The area they cover on my screen is the same all the time - if I resize a picture too much, then I see only a part of it. My resolution is 1024x768.What about other users of SSP for FS9? Are your pictures small, too? Any suggestion how to make the pictures fill the screen?Roland

I have installed as2004 on my pc ( athelon 2600/1gb mem/radeon9800xt/del1901fp screen/pfc throttle/aetiyoke/pfc rudder set)when I load as2004 with fs9 in non-full screen mode .progeam starts ok , downloads data and indicates ok but as soon as I try full screen all I get is rapid flickering og hourlass in a blank screen. without active sky there are no problems moving between full and standard screens. Also active sky also has started to crash and generate eror info which is sent to MS .Can anyone assist please ?
