Just a quick question. I have 2 hard drives on my computer one (C drive) is 55.8GB and the other one (D drive) is also 55.8GB. Right now I have FS2004 installed on the C drive, if I wanted to put it on the D drive could I just copy the whole thing to the drive? Or would I have to re-install it to the D drive?

I installed the FSW Generic Night Lights (fs2k4gnight.zip), and now I can't see my landing or taxi lights. I did add the lines to the fs9.cfg file like it said in the readme. I've put the original back for now.

there is only 50min to go before its the new year in Sydney Australia. ( We are about 16hrs ahead of the USA ). Sydney has a major fire works display every year and it one of the worlds top New Years parties. MS have included the Sydney fire works in FS2004. I set my local time to 23:58 and took off from YSSY. The fire works look really cool too!Pete

Hopefully someone out there can answer this--Is there a simple and straightforward way to import AFCAD revisions into the FS Navigator database? I've got a ton of new AFCADs in my FS9 addon scenery folder now, and it's become kind of a pain, to have to manually position my plane at a new parking spot when implementing a flight plan, given that FS Nav is not aware of the new parking configuration.I tried to add an AFCAD revision to FSNav when I was using FS2002; I don't know what I did wrong or how I managed to do it, but I ended up wiping out all the fixes from the FSNav database and I had to reinstall the program!!!:-hang I've been kind of gunshy about it since then, b…

Decending through 15,000 everything gets hazy when I'm running FS Real Weather. This doesn't happen when I'm using FS Meto weather or just user made up weather, only when using the Flight Sim 15 minute update weather. I can even slew back above 15,000 feet and it's still there until I interupt things like hitting the ALT Key. Then everything goes back to normal. I've trashed the FS9 Config file and the FSUIPC Config file and the problem still exists. I would appreciate any suggestions. Dick

Just curious. I fly a "direct to" route frequently on the Default GPS in FS2004, and wonder how others do this: I fly to within 30 miles or so (sometimes out farther)and hit the "Proc" button. Then I select a GPS, or ILS that seems appropriate, and then start using the AP to descend, slow down, set flaps, etc. THEN I enjoy flying the plane in without AP when weather permits. WHEN do you set up your approach and activate it? Do you do it early on, or later in the flight? Exactly what is your methodology and thinking when using this feature? Stan

Hey Everyone,Quick question. Whenever I'm done using the slew function, my engines immediatley quit. So when I hit "Y" to shut it off- the engines just turn off... This happened to me in FS2002 and I fixed it somehow but I really don't remember the fix anymore. If any of you know the cure, please enlighten me. :) Using FS2004 now, btw... it only started to happen within the past few days, and the only thing I have added since then is AI from Project Ai...Thanks in advance,Jason :-wave

It looks like the developer of Clearance Unlimited has finally pulled the plug on his site.He had been stating that it's days were numbered. It was a wonderful source of Sid/Star charts and other flight planing info. Hope everyone got what they wanted off it. John Fitzpatrick

Hey all,What do you think of the default Lear and King Air? I only fly the ultra realistic, pilot endorsed planes (RealAir's Cessna 150 and Trev Morrison's .air file for the DC3). While I find these as close to reality as possible and a great challenge to fly, I am looking for something faster.Do any of you real world pilots endorse the default Lear or King Air? These planes are my next challenge but I want to know if I will get the same convincing experience in them as I do in the planes I mentioned previously. The VC's are the best FS has done yet and the flight models seem imporved over FS2002 so is it worth it?Thanks,Quagmire

A public thankyou to George Grimshaw for the latest update to his excellent freeware scenery. New buildings and textures along with all the correct runway ILS' now functional, put this on par with any current payware offering.IMHO the best rendition of any FS2004 airport out there.:-beerchug

I love the new MS weather. They do a much better job now simulating icing conditions. If you don't use the pitot heat, carb heat, and de-icers, you will be in trouble. But after reading "Fate Is the Hunter" by Ernest K. Gann, it can't compare to the real thing. Mr. Gann describes two situations where he was a co-pilot of a DC2 and DC3. He describes two really extreme weather conditions:1) What is it like flying into a thunderstorm in a DC3? He says that when it hit, he instantly started losing 1500 fpm despite full power. Then in another instant he was ascending at 1500 fpm. He put his gear down, pointed the plane downward, and still he ascended. The Artificial H…

I installed the MS FF2, along with my CH devices. The MS FF2 is working, but all I feel is a random "bump" and nothing else. When in Ctl Mgr, Properties, I can calibrate it, but no "forces" menu appears. Any idea what I missed? Thanks,

I have downloadad both the dimmed version of the landing light texture and the Xenon landing light texture and installed them independently of one another as their respective readme's suggested. Now I have no landing light at all. I have found the Xenon texture in my textures folder, but it does not show in the sim. I wanted to experiment to see which I liked better, but now have nothing at all. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully there is a simple fix. The Xenon version comes with a backup of the original, but I have not tried to replace it yet.

In an effort to better organize what some are experiencing with regards to CTD's while flying, I'd like folks to post here. Please post your system specs, FS9.cfg, Terrain.cfg (if it's not stock), add-on's, flight scenario (flight location, date and time, weather, aircraft, altitude and airspeed, etc.), software build. Please keep in mind that we're here to collect hard data. As frustrating as this is for those of us suffering the CTD's, please keep your emotions in check. My sys specs:AMD 3000+ Barton 400Mhz Thermalright SLK-947-U w/ 92mm fanASUS A7N8X Deluxe Rev.2.0 1006 BIOS nVidia 3.11 drivers (also tested with ASUS 1.16 drivers), Vantec Iceberg on the Northbridge, he…

Talk about realizim...I took off from Tampa with the PMDG 737 climbed to about 3000' and all of a sudden I heard a poping sound from my Thrustmaster Afterburner Joystick. As soon as I heard the poping sound, the joystick stopped working causing mmy plane to go into a shallow turning dive. I also felt the joystick getting very hot and could hear a sizzling sound coming from it along with lots of eye watering smoke and burning wire smell.I jumped up and unplugged the joystick and opened the windows to air out my apartment. I just bought this thing yesterday from Compusa and only used it for a about an hour. It says on my sales reciept, they charge %15 re-stocking fee for o…

Like most of us, I tinker and tinker and tinker. Dare I say that I think I have finally got it right. I'm not even sure what I have done, but I guess it lies in having a pretty good rig, fast computer, etc. But, these remarks are not meant to discuss hardware, rather the software. Yesterday I downloaded the new Boston and Phoenix freeware airports. Now, I usually do not fly the big airports, but I was curious, especially since I have gotten everything from Project AI working well. Bottom line....both airports were crowded with parked and air traffic. I took two VFR pattern flights at each airport, and got to see loads of aircraft...all with decent frame rates. I was flying…

Wondering if anyone is working on a Katana or Diamond Star, pay or freeware? These seem to becoming a new standard for economical GA, and the Katana is really making headway as a trainer. Would love to see one for FS2004, seems a natural...Best,Joel
