Recently I rebuilt my PC and ever since Flight Simulator just crashes to desktop. Sometimes with an error message and sometimes without. On a couple of occasions it has caused the PC to reboot completely.I have all the posts and tried the fixes regarding the seasonal bug but nothing seems to fix the problem. Last night I reformatted, did a clean install of XP SP1 and installed all the latest drivers for my graphics / sound cards etc. I re-installed FS2004 and once again it eventually crashed to desktop. Doesn't matter where I fly or what plane I fly with, eventually it will quit, sometimes within 30 seconds, sometimes within an hour. I am really stumped by this one…

Hi All,I have a p4 @ 3 ghz with 512 of ram a Radeon 9800 pro 128 megs. I installed another 512 megs of ram and know have stutters about every three seconds...yes for the past three days I have been doing everything to correct this. I have all the latest drivers and bios for my computer. Before the added the ram I had no stutters, but now even when I remove the added ram I still get stutters. My framerates are locked at 25 and for the most part stay there. It does not matter if all my sliders are to the left or to the right...the stutter remains. Any help would be great...my head hurts over this. Thanks and take care

I am using CH Products USB yoke with FS2004, Win2K pro. When flying any of the aircraft which normally have mixture control, i.e. C182S and others, the mixture control on the yoke does not work. I have disabled automixture and the mixture control calibrates normally in FS as well as in the CH calibration program. The mixture can be controlled with the mouse without problem.Any suggestions? .

I'm hoping someone can help me with this... When I use map view and click on an airport or vor there's no facility information, only the facility name on a blank window. There's a flashing cursor, as though waiting for text input. No runway info or frequencies at all, scrolling around the window doesn't help. Clicking on the facility name does nothing. The lack of info isn't affected by choice of aircraft or location. Sometimes though, the info is there, it seems to be determined at startup. Is the sim sometimes missing a .dll at startup, or is there something I can check in a config file or setting? There must be something better than saving the game and restarting to fi…

Hi All, Has anyone noticed a regular little stutter- just a fraction of a second- that occurs as you turn through certain compass headings? For example taking off due west, then a little "stut" as you approach due south, then another as you turn to due north.I'm running a very fast system and guess I've seen this on FS9 for a while, but it just occured to ask if anyone else has experienced something similar? Doesn't seem to be related to the aircraft or scenery settings, and I've done the autogen fix a While ago.Best,Joel

OK gang, here's the deal.I recently upgraded my computer specifically for better FS performance. I now have an Athlon 2500+ XP Barton core, an ABit KD7-A board, 512MB of DDR (soon to be 1024) and a Gainward GeForce FX5600 256MB card.I run in windowed mode with my desktop set to 1600x1200 at 16bit color (32 bit color slowed down horribly). On my OLD system (Athlon 1200, 512 SDRAM, GF2 GTS 64mb) I couldn't run with 3d clouds, but could run 2d with everything else maxed and get around 10-15 FPS. Now on my new system, I have 3d clouds on but turned down very low (percentage 30, coverage minimal), and I get 30-45 FPS. Super deal! The only catch is that when I have heavy cloud c…

Happy New Year All!!!My first post of 04! I was setting up my personal webpages and came across this awesom flight tracking tool from a site called Flightcomm.com (www.flightcomm.com). If you click on the "Track a Flight" button you can track the status of any flight arriving or departing the United States or Canada. This isn't a graphical interpretation, it's more like a flight status board you see at airports. If you've ever wondered which carrier flies between Pittsburgh and Denver, enter in Pittsburgh as your departing airport and enter Denver as your arrival airport and you're presented with a list of Airlines, Flight Numbers, and arrival times. The best part of this …

Hello People.I hope somebody is still using FS2000 here. For later versions my computer is just too slow i think. There is one thing that makes me weird about the attitude indicator on some panels.i.e.:I have a beautiful panam 747-200, but for the panel i downloaded, there were some gauges missing, including the attitude. so i just use the one from the concorde. that works fine most of the time. but sometimes it fails.I found out that this effect allways shows, when turning off the engines of a prop-aircraft (Extra, Mooney Bravo, Beaver). turning engines on brings it back again. So if you sit in a Beaver, turn engine on and switch to the 747,it's right.Go back to the Beaver,…

In the STANDARD PILOT LOG, the date and text fields are padded on the end with ASCII codes that are not printable. I have tried several methods but have not yet been able to determine what are those unprintable characters.I am attempting to combine pilot log entries from several earlier versions and I need to know what those codes are?Does anyone know what ASCII Codes are used?

I just completed a flight from KSBN to KBHB in Milton's Commander.I posted about this once before but a solution still escapes me. Using FS Meteo, the prevailing winds provided a generally westerly flow, 250 degrees at 40 to 50 knots. The problem is that as I approached station boundaries, I experienced a wind shear that just about ripped the wings off. Altitude variances of about 700 feet, airspeed changes from 80 knts to 230 knts, heading swings in excess of seventy knots...While it didn't happen this flight, in prior flights, it terminated abruptly with 'aircraft overstressed'.FSUIPC is set to smooth wind changes 1 knot/1 degree every 240 seconds but it didn't have …

I understand that any aircraft over 136 tons TOW is designated "heavy." Intuitively, it makes sense, so that controllers know that you need more room to turn, a longer strip, etc. But there have to be specific reasons, and I'm just curious as to what they are...billg

Anyone have ideas? Whenever I alt tab back into FS from the desktop I get a black screen where the windshield should be. Happens with any plane. Running the 3.10s on an R9800NP and Bios 20 on my board if that helps at all. I can get the view back by switching out of full screen and then back into it, but it's a pain to have to do it all the time.TIA!

I enjoy filling up MSFS skies with AI traffic of all types. My decompiled aircraft file (I have only one) has several hundred aicraft. I wonder how many aircraft and flight plans fellow simmers find that they can get away with without seriously compromising performance with AI set to 100%? CheersIsmetM

  19. I'm trying to install the United Express Dornier 328 into FS9. Everything seems ok, except the wheels are missing. The aircraft appears to be hovering above the ground. The only two I know of and have tried are:David Durst Dornier 328 v2.1IFDG Dornier 328Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? I'd like to either correct the problem or find another model that will work. Can anyone help?

Hi there all -Just a new note really too tell you all of the great Boeing 737-400 panel that was recently uploaded to avsim. It's great.Used in combination with a recent sound FX panel addon thing that was recently uploaded you will find that your default simualation experience will be enhanced 1000x. (and hi to all Face to Face fans to :) - although they hate flying ;()I have a few payware planes - and they are excellent - the ultimate in learning what you'd be sort of required to do in order to fly an old plane in a pretty real life situation - (as I would understand it anyway - although obvously in a restricted simulated environemnt) - the CS 727 and F1 DC-9 - they are…

Hi,For me icing is modeled in FS9 as far as instruments are concerned. For instance if I fly in icing conditions without having turned on the Pitot tube heat then the airspeed indicator reads 0 due to icing. However I do not believe that icing has an impact on the flight model - normally it should increase weight and drag -Anyone can confirm this ?Thanks,Tony

Hi all, just as a heads up, Jobia has released a new version of his global patch that fixes the CTDs during late fall and early spring. The likely hypothesis for the crashes is that the CTDs are triggered by incomplete or incorrect look-up tables for texture blending at airfields. The patch works by deactivating the new feature in FS9 that blends the underlying landclass textures with the airport background (grassy) polygon. In other words, the airport grounds will look more like the FS2002 versions again, with singular textures. Currently, all the documentation is in German only, so here's a quick guide for installation:1. Download crashto.zip at http://jobia.bei.t-onlin…
