.....of reality.I just flew commercially to San Diego from Detroit this past couple weeks returning today. I am not really a jet guy and only give a passing glance to it. I do have ultimate traffic installed, along with Justin's mesh, landclass, Megascenery for San Diego, and now the new FyTampa Sandiego scenery.I have to say -when I showed up to DTW-and saw exactly the correct aircraft at all the gates around my flight to Chicago that ultimate traffic rendered-then tonight took my personal aircraft and busted San Diego's airspace to watch my airbus from Chicago land and taxi to the precise gate with all the other correct aircraft around-MS has really stepped over the li…

The DirectX states that the file ati2drab.dll for ATI RAGE MOBILITY-M AGP (English) is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). When I start FS2004 I get the warning that the system may stop or give problems; either softwarw mode or get an updated driver. But there is no newer driver according to produser HP (Ominibook 6000). Does this mean I can't run FS 2004, or is there a way arround it in the FS9.cfg and /or display.cfg? (I have been running both FS2000 and FS2002 on this computer.)

Recently, I remember reading somewhere about the relationship between the cockpit amber master caution light, the yaw damper switch, and the flt cont and anti-ice annunciations on older panels such as the 737-200. I think the yaw damper gain is supposed to be switched to "1" in the a/c cfg file in order for these relationships to work correctly. Is this in fact correct? (How do I know this...?!@#?)JS

A question for any IR pilots that fly FS9 for practice:I'm using the RealAir C172SP for some early practical practice approaches. I will be flying a C172SP while I go through the formal IR practical training. I also have an ASA sim ("IP Trainer"), which is much more technical and much more unforgiving :).But when I fly FS, it's so much more fun to pretend I'm flying an airliner. However, those with FMC's and the like won't give me any experience that will be of any use to me on my check-ride (unless they upgrade the C172SP avionics a lot!). Lately, the sim is doing some very, very wierd things. The first and foremost is it goes 'deaf' to calls for the sub panels. Ie. if I hit SHIFT - 5 or SHIFT -7 it will just sit there, rather than bringing those panels up. If I try to use the 2-D cockpit it just gives me the sounds, but no picture, and if I 's' over to the virtual cockpit, it is fine.Save and quit the flight, relaunch it (don't have to re-launch the sim, just the flight), and all behaves normally for a time, then after a while, it reverts to this behaviour.Also, the buttons on my joystick which used to work fine, controlling the prop lever (as programmed to do in the Saitek panel), now operate the rudde…

Hi all and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I was just reading the thread on the pros and cons of FSFORCE and I noted the statement by GTSWANNY in his post on the use of a MSFF2 joystick "AND" CH rudder pedals! I had NO IDEA this was possible! About two years ago I bought the CH "gameport" rudder pedals(without researching that I also needed their yoke)and they have never been used(read collecting dust!)because I actually prefere the joystick! Hi all., as a relative newcomer to FS i have started to fly the heavies, the 747 in this case, and to my amusement found i could fly this beast 180 degrees with my little finger with no resistance at all!Maybe a simulator or real-world pilot could confirm that this is entirely in accordance with real-world flying?This is not meant to be just another condemnation of FS which (IMHO) i believe to be a fine product alongside the many add-ons available,but flying the 747 like this is a complete turn-off, or maybe i am missing something here?cheers.,

I have noticed that the RMI and EHSI on my DHC8-300 are misaligned. The EHSI agrees with the Standby Compass.Does anyone know how to fix the problem?Does anyone know whether it is caused when you move an aircraft from one airfield to another at the start of a flight? I moved an aircraft from Canada to London Gatwick.Any advise much appreciated.Thanks

I have never been to Israel but generally accept that the default scenery used in FS 9 is realistic.I wanted to make it moreso. So I downloaded the Israel Land Class, eud-med and tel aviv metropolitan files as suggested.Whenever I put the Metro Tel-aviv file into the scenery, it makes all the buildings downtown dissappear but brings the car lights on the roadways to life (which looks awesome!)But is there anyway to keep those default downtown buildings still there? Or do they not belong?I wantto bring the city to life without taking away from it. The same holds true for NY, Miami and LA. Any ideas as to what I can do or what I am doing wrong?thanks for your time.

Whenever I see a reference to traffic patterns and how/when to fly them, it always seems to talk about them in regard to small aircraft at small airports. Typically a traffic pattern is described for a Cessna 172 or similar.So - just when, where and how are traffic patterns flown for ALL types of a/c. I can hardly see the 747s at my local International flying a pattern -- but then again , maybe they do. For example, would a Dash8 fly a pattern into a regional airport (non-ILS) So could anybody describe this for me -- I can fly a standard pattern in the Sim with the smaller slower a/c -- but once I step up into the turbos and jets, it gets a lot harder.Thanks Barry

Some days ago I inadvertently hit CTRL W and to my surprise I was transported from my cockpit to some other place. I hit the same keystroke again and the scene changed. Then I looked in fs9 manuals and I found CTRL W is controllng "Chasing views". I understand it might have to see with AI aircraft, but does someone exactly know what is its purpose?Happy New Year!
