Hello,I am only a sim pilot so please take that into consideration. I have now learned to fly (reasonably) the Airbus sims from PSS, SSW and now even the A320 PIC. I would like to dedicate more time to the BUS along with my 737NG (PMDG - the best sim I have yet to see!)My impressions (newbie) are that the PSS BUSES are OK - they fly fine but are limited in procedural necessities like startup "things",etc. The SSW is a big step up for me and has provided a real in-depth need for procedural things that startup the AC and keep it going until touchdown. At last my first success without CTD, being a two hour IFR flight. What a relief.I, along with many others, have been feeling anxious and frustrated for the last few weeks, as every attempted flight ended in Crash To Desktop. Sometimes the MS screen came up with shutting down, and most times with logging out because of an error.I have tried every trick and tip that this forum has listed, all eventually resulting in failure. In short I have discovered that something in my AI traffic was causing the problem.I have a 22GB partition dedicated to FS9. I removed FS9 and reformatted the drive. I am trying to use the CH 3-Axis 10-Button + POV USB Yoke with FS 2002 and the DHC8-300 add on. I have registed my copy of FSUIPC. However, I cannot get the yoke to work properly. Here are SOME of the problems that I am having:1. I am currently stuck with a cockpit view looking in the top right hand side of the cockpit - rather than at the main instrument panel. This is less than useful when trying to fly the plane! This problem has only appeared recently as I have been "fiddling" to try to overcome other problems that I have encountered when calibartaing the yoke.2. I just made a page that shows the effects of LOD and TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL rather clearly. I used 1/9" SDDS elevation data in the Seattle area to get maximum source resolution, and 3D analyzer to force FS9 to run in wireframe so that the actual polygons would be obvious. The results I came up with were that TMVL's above 21 didn't have any visible effect, and 21 only changed texturing at close range. 20 did significantly increase the polygon count over 19 and thus visible terrain resolution. Surprisingly, there's NO difference between LOD 10,11,or 12 meshes as far as elevation detail was concerned, at least with the terrain detail slider at max (I didn't feel like addin…

Hi,I am thinking of putting a service together where people can request a repaint, and I paint it for them.I have been doing Metroliner repaints for a while and I am always getting E-mails with requests, I thought that if I put a website together people can come along request a repaint and I'll do it.Primarily this will be for the more "niche" aircraft models, the mainstream stuff (big airliners and major airlines), has plenty to chose from, but the smaller planes are sometimes lacking.So before I set the website up I thought I'd check if there would be a demand for this service, it would of course be free!!!.So let me know if this interests anyone.CheersDan.

I've got an idea or request for all those who design panels. Any way that you could make an "IFR" panel, similar to what PSS does, but without any outside 3D view at all. For those of us running multiple monitors I think this would be a huge benefit to run an instrument panel and an outside panel over it.Thanks,

Last night, while idling time awaiting New Year, I stupidly opened a .gau file with Ms Notepad because I was trying to look inside it. In the process, I turned every single .gau file in FS2004 and indeed every gau file on my PC into a .gau file with a Notepad icon. The classic .gau icon has completely vanished, even when I download ZIP files with .gau files inside themI can still run FS but I am wondering if there is any way I can revert to the classic icon look of the .gau file?Appreciate any posts/advice, thanks!Happy New Year!Arghhhhh!!JS

I've istalled Flight1_Dreamfleet_Cardinal and have discovered that its overwritten the GPS_export.dll file. Anyone know if I can get a copy of this or do I need to install FS2004 again! (arghh!)Thanks,Alan

For the last few months I have been enjoying 3d views (windowed) out of two 21 inch monitors from an ATI 9700 Pro. After a computer upgrade I am able to use a front and side view even on vatsim. A month ago I attempted to lightly overclock the ATI. After quickly decided that this proposition was just too scary for me I put the setting back to origonal spec. Since then, when I try to drag my second view to the other monitor, it crashes about half the time. Now since sunday it crashes 99 percent of the time. I've tried reinstalling everything but the OS. Does anybody know why scenery duplication occurs for some third party sceneries on a brand new install?I have 12 of simflyers scenery, including WORLDSCENERIES Wonderful Rio 2004, Haneda International and, Gatwick 2004...After the installation is complete and then starting up FS9, I noticed the sceneries being generated for the first time into FS9. When I check the scenery libraries, there is one instance of each of the above mentioned sceneries...I then exit FS9 and check the scenery.cfg, and again only one instance of each scenery and they are porperly numbered.However, when I launched FS9 again, there is suddenly another gerenation of sceneries being added. I have a very big problem witht product of GoFlight.When I install TQ6 to my system with Fs2004 ,I cant download a real -world weather via Fs2004.I cant only restart my PC.When I can download a weater via Fs 2004 then TQ-6 dont work good.Starting engins from 65% When I uninstal all drivers /Go Flight/from PC .I can download weather. I've been reading through the threads and trying this and that to stop my own random crashes...the one thing I have noticed when I read system specs is Windows XP... could the OS be the culprit and not the game? Are the two interferring with one another trying to grab a resource the other has a handle on and causing the crash. Is there any way with SB or with FSMetar of stopping/turning off the horizontal scrolling messages( I'm using FS2004/SBRelaty etc)from appearing along the top of the screen?As we now are in a time when most people use voice- this seems to be a thingyou don't need unless forced by circumstances to use text ,when you canthen view the messages in the FS chat box anyway.I've read thru all the SB readmes and can't find any reference to switchingof the text display - but it seems to me there must be a way of doing so,in fact I'm fairly sure I've seen it mentioned somewhere in the past.Happy New year to allDave

I have several addon sceneries, such as BOSTON,VEGAS,LAX..etc..in their own folders, and each folder has its own scenery and texture folder.I put all these in the ADDON SCENERY folder. In the scenery.cfg it showed as Title=Addon Scenery,Local=Addon Scenery. For a long while, this worked just fine. But when I added another scenery or more, the new scenery did not display when FS2004 was booted up.
