I fired up both FS9 and FS2002 Pro today and both of them "refreshed" the scenery database and re-built the database at the simulator's startup.I seem to remember that this occurs every time after the computer makes the time change to or from daylight savings time.Why does this happen?Does anyone know?Thanks!Scott :-)ATP/CFII - KCOS

Does FS2002 scenery work in FS9 properly, and with no side-effects? And, how about *.fx files? Will effects from my FS2002 effects folder work properly if I move them into the FS9 effects folder?Thanks -- Dick Bixler

For some reason when I am flying over certain areas (especially the NY mega scenery areas), I get drop outs in the water textures like the ones attached. Whether I have the extended textures selected or not seems to make no difference. Also, wheter or not I extend visibility to the farthest allowable seems to make only a marginal difference. Besides ease of use, what would be the advantage of this new EZ GPS by Abacus? I think it does "waypoints" and instead of having to fly a simple "direct to" route, you actually can fly to a destination while hitting waypoints and having the plane turn appropriately. Is that true? Stan

I understand the theory and some of the practice of x-wind takeoffs better now, but I am unsure about rotation procedure. By the time I get to that point, my ailerons are more or less level (having been turned more fully into the x-wind earlier in the roll), but I still have some opposite rudder. As I pull back on the stick and liftoff what do I do with the rudder? When do I release pressure and allow myself to crab into the x-wind?Appreciate clarification on this critical five seconds, thanks!JS

I have been trying to locate the fs9.cfg file because I have to add a line to it for a panel that I downloaded. I cannot find this file to save my life, I have looked everywhere. Can someone please give me a path that will help me find this panel. I go to C:/program files/microsoft games/fs9/...I have even typed in fs9.cfg on the search feature in my computer. I told it to look in the C: drive, it didn't find anything.Any help would be great, I really want this 732 panel to workThanks again,Tadd Garcia

Hi Guy's.I'm having no trouble with the Dash whatsoever, but I wanted to ask you if there was a way in the aircraft .cfg or similar that I could alter a parameter for the engine / prop spin up cycle, I give for egsample the alteration we can do for the exit rate,I would like to slow down the prop spin up time as I feel it's just too fast, I have been watching Dash's and ATR's etc, and they don't spin up that quickly,any ideas please at allthank'sSteve.PS anyone know of any documentation that gets you working with the FMC, I am a bit confused still with it, I've got the main manual,but it dosen't cover that much on how to activate it etcthank's again

Dear all;I already downloaded the Aerodesigns A300-600 and it works really well with Benoit Gaurant's panel in FS2004.But my brakes ( "." key) does not work properly with this panel; I can use it just for once when I want to release my parking brakes.Please help?

Is there anyway to increase the airport area so that autogen items like trees will be further from the runway? If I turn autogen up I get a single tree close to the end of runway 22 @ KBHB that you tag every time at normal approach altitudes. It sticks right up into the normal 3 degree glideslope for the ILS into that runway.MSFS needs to add a chainsaw tool. :)

I have noticed a couple of planes of this problem. My 737-800 by FFX with both American and Delta seem to have problems one side no cabin lights at all and the other side have it half way from the back to the emergency exits on the 737-800 when I have taxi lights on. When I turn off taxi lights there isn't any cabin lights, now when I have landing lights they are on properly on both sides. It seems similar to the UA 747-400 as well. Not all aircraft are like that, just a few but I just wonder how to fix it if there is a way. Perhaps I should post some screens. If I don't get any posts maybe I will post some to show you what I mean.

Hi there,I am wondering if others ARE getting AI traffic at Boeing Field?Even though I put the latest AFcad2 file in Add on Scenery/Scenery I dont get anything at all. Not one aircraft which seems odd.I am using Ultimate Traffic and have removed their traffic file in favour of the new one I downloaded last week.Any help would be very welcome.Many thanks in advance.Richard

Hi all, is there a way to make the landing lights on some aircraft less intence? Man, the minute I turn on things on , they practically blind me from the shine on the runway in cockpit view. Just a wee note to all XP and Fs9 users. I suppose thats a lot!!(lol)I have noticed a number of times that my 2.4, 1GB Gmax 420 setup suddenly starts to run the sim so smooth its amazing.I have pre-set 20fps, and some of the time I can get small shudders in passing through heavy cloud, but the frame rate is still easily flyable. However earlier on tonight I had an inexplainable 'boost' when everything just went superbly, irrespective of what scenery, weather, clouds or aircraft I was using. It just suddenly 'rocks'!I do know that XP is a learning system, and have found re-boots can often sort out problems across a range of software, each re-boot giving better performan…
