Does anybody know what this could be ?Look at the pictures, the text "NEWS" appears in the forest, in Switzerland (1st pic close to LSZG), in France 2 other pics close to Dieppe LFAB)All the pics are taken on april 21th, spring textures... I got a strange problem and found on the web no solution (so far).I still use the FS2002 and find a megnetic derivation of almost exactly +40 degrees. This does happen most of the time. I already tried creating a new FS2002.cfg, deleted AF2XXX files from the sceneries, pushed the D key, whatsoever it still remains. The strange thing is, when I start the FS with the default Cessna it does not happen (not often). Where is the bug?Martin

Hi all,I just recently installed fs4 on a new computer. Everything is going fine except one problem.I went to my favorite airport, set all the parameters of the aircraft, weather, settings, etc. I made sure I UN-CHECKED flying tips. Then I saved the flight, BUT, I still get those irratating flying tips,i.e., "your engine is not started", "your altimeter is not set". No S_ _ _! I haven't got to that point yet.So, can someone tell me where I can permantly remove this unwanted inconvience.Thanks,Mike

Hello,I've been adviced to disable rendertotexture (set it to 0) in order to solve some weather programs issues (panel blinking).Would I loose framerates or overall quality by disabling it ?cheersLuca

Ok you wonderful downloaders, I'm reinstalling FS2004 after a fairly long hiatus. I finally built my new computer and want to get the best enhancements for FS.Which are the top 10 best GLOBAL changes(i.e. which downloads are the ones that enhance FS2004 OVERALL the best...(I'm not looking for area specific airports and things yet)So for, Bluesphere and Chris Arringtons (SP?) airport upgrades look promising.Thanks to all in advance!

Is anyone using FS Genesis 76.4 Alaska Yukon Base Terrain and the same 76.4 Canada base terrain. How do you like it and how bad is the frame rate hit. Would this be better than individual Alaska individual scenery areas from avsim??? Can they be mixed???I've never D/L any scenery for FS so unaware of any pitfalls or problems that may exist. Hey guys,I'm having a problem I really never noticed until I installed an aircraft I KNOW is supposed to be ultra shiny. I have an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 video card and I've seen the ultra shine displayed before on this card, so I know it's capable, I just don't know why it's not being displayed now as opposed to when it was later. Is there some sort of activation switch for this feature, some slider I don't know about, etc? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as always. Thanks in advance,Zach Herin

Hi.In FS2k2, I could see other aircraft while flying online a significant distance away. In FS9, I can't see other aircraft unless they are practicaly on top of me,In the FS9.cfg file, within the section for Muliplayer, there are two possible lines that could be the one I need to tweek inorder to extend the 13 mile radius. I have do doubt that if anyone has not already installed the night textures and high clouds by Chris Willis thay should try them. They improve the default textures dramatically.As for water textures I have found what I believe are the best water textures available and they can be found in the Avsim library.They are oceansfx and oceanstx by Ed Truthan. They are easy to install into scenery/world/textures and can be used in FS2002 or FS2004. If you do not like them a default file is provided to replace them.Johan de Veries provides OceansFx which is a very handy little program which allows you to set various wind directions etc for the aforementioned files.I also use new-wa…

Been playing with the GA Traffic generator and I was just wondering what addon planes people are using for AI traffic. Even with the texture size reduced, many planes cause a big performance drop when you put 10 of them at the same airport.arrow_iii.zip, legacy5.zip and pipmer04.zip seem to work fine, there is a performance hit but if you keep the Probability % down it's OK. Any suggestions for some freeware planes that work as GA traffic?

Okay, now that I know I have this all working, does it make sense to everyone that the best course is to disable GA aircraft in Ultimate Traffic and let GA-Traffic handle the GA entirely? First, it supposedly can help with GA traffic framerates (still not quite sure how) and second, that way there's no confusion over GA aircraft.If I do remove UT GA aircraft, do I recompile my GA-Traffic? Does one even really impact the other with respect to parking spaces? Finally, I'm not sure if I turn off UT GA aircraft if that means I'll never see GA of ANY type at any of the large airports where they may fly.

Is there any way, using FSUIPC, to curve (or completely cancel) surface/runway winds after downloading FSim 9 local weather? I usually go to the FSim 9 Weather and download the local weather (with the update every 15 minutes feature), but when I do that, I have a hard time landing, taking off, and taxiing due to surface winds on the runway. Even if the winds are as low as 8 or 10 knots, I cannot seem to control the aircrafts on the runway.

Hi Paul! its John from downstairs at the Aerocenter.Just installed your ottawa alpha10 scenery.Excellent job the scenery is very accurate and i like all the details you put in it.Finally a good Ottawa scenery to use for my home base!But i am having one problem.The ILS's for runway 32 and 07 are not lined up with the runways,they are off by about 50 feet at the threshold.Also there seems to be no localizer backcourse available.Any chance you could fix this(time permitting of course).This is the only problem i'm having otherwise it would be perfect.I notice there was a similar problem with the KDTW scenery and I believe you were able to fix it?Thanks again for the great and…

Hi All / Rob,I'm wondering if there is a way to permanently turn off the "RealView" feature in the RealAir Scout? Of course I know that when you start a flight you can turn off the knobs after calling up shift7, but even if I then save a flight with the feature off, it seems to turn itself back to a default "on" setting when I select that flight again.Is there a way to get it to remember the "off" setting, or perhaps make a change in the effects / guages folder to accomplish this?Thanks,Joel

I have been flying the Aerodesigns Airbus A300 for a wile now, and I love it! The only problem I have is in the Virtual cockpit it looks like I am missing some textures. The side pillars and the ceiling of the cockpit are all white. The overhead texture is ok but the area around it is all white. Does anyone know if this is how this model was released for FS9 or am I missing textures? It

I'm a fan of the Stealth F117 fighter. I downloaded the file and I downloaded the update (fix). Still, there are gauges that do not appear, and there doesn't seem to be a 2D cockpit. Is that the way it is, or did I do something wrong? Don't see an AP or GPS either. Stan
