I keep getting an out of memory error whenever FS tries to load. Also when I ackknowledge the out of memory error I will get a facillities.dll error in FS itself. This has been very frustrating. I've tried different ram, defragged till the cows come home, deleted everything I can think of that I don't need from my hard drive, deleted the Scenery.dat files so FS rebuilds the data base, deleted and rebuilt the FS 9 cfg file all to no avail. I'm about to resort to sacrificing small animals (just kidding) to get this dang thing to run FS 2004. I have no other problems with any other programs. I'm still running Win 98 but thats until I get my new FS computer, but it will be a …

The layout and appearance of one or two panels recently has suggested that my eyesight is maybe not exactly eagle sharp and that I should consider some form of aid such as a screen magnifier. A search on the forums revealed a great deal of helpful information on this topic and has pretty well convinced me that this is a good idea. However, there are a couple of questions that I would be really grateful for help on.Firstly, there did not seem to be a consensus as to whether a TV screen enlarger was suitable for a computer monitor, or if the magnifier should be specifically for a PC monitor. I wonder if anyone has a definitive word on this.Secondly, most of the threads w…

Hi All,Has anyone been able to get the MelJet 777-200ER tail Logo "UA" to be illuminated at night? I know this is a very dated thing, but can't find any info on this and the MelJet site is closed too.OR, is there perhaps a new texture that is available to do this?OR, am I beating a dead horse? I have finally gotten the MelJet 772 to work well with the PSS panel in FS2002. The only thing that detracts from the otherwise PERFECT visual model is the tail logo! nor do any of the windows light up. Can't believe this one simple item was overlooked.OR, do I need to set some more settings in my FS2002.cfg file?Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED ! Thank YouAl Whitney - Bacal Ai…

I've just released the second update. AutoStar allows you to add planets, images and now comets to the Flight Simulator night sky. For discussion of this, see the thread 'Add planets to FS9?' A couple of screenshots:http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/comet2.jpghttp://www.kline.demon.co.uk/comet3.jpg You need to download two zips: (if you already downloaded AutoStar then you only need the update) http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/autostar.zip http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/autostar_update_2.zip Best regards, Chris

Hi Simmers,I installed a Kittyhawk B737 in FS2K2 and something weird was showing. I only saw the lights, and not the fuselage. It just looked like a "ghost plane". Is this normal? And if so, why is this happening? Is it because of the graphics engine in which it is build of? Is there a solution to fly these planes in FS2002?Thanx,Jeroen

Would be grateful if anyone can suggest a solution to the following problem. When I shutdown FS2K4 I used to get the Logbook displayed with the hours all filled-in for me to only update the airport or other info. Since the last 2 days this has stopped. Now, I have to keep a track of the flight time and manually make entries. This inspite of no change in the fs9.cfg file and the item of 'Log Flight Time' ticked under the General Options menu. Thanks in advance.

All,I have just uploaded FSAutoStart v1.0 Build 6 to the AVSIM library - it should appear for downloading shortly. http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=48107This version includes much better handling of multiple profiles. I have received quite a few requests for the ability to use this program with other games. This build will help facilitate this. Also, I have included other requests. I hope you find this a useful utility, and as always if you have any suggestions or problems feel free to post here or email me directly!Changes in this build:* Added ability for console app to automatically terminate instead of waiting for user input* Added abili…

Hey everyone, does Shez's great KSNA scenery work in FS9? Anyone try it yet?

Been flying the RealAir Scout quite a bit lately. It's supposed to be one of the best aircraft to simulate the handling of taildraggers and it is indeed a new challenge for me. I thought I had pretty much mastered landings in FS but the first few landings with the Scout were more like a controlled crash followed by a not-so gracefull ballet :-lolTwo-pointer or three pointer?I read that with large aircraft like the DC3, you want to land on the main wheels first for whatever reasons. It seems like when flying smaller taildraggers, pilots take pride in doing the perfect "three-pointer". Any reason why I should try to do three-pointers or are mains-first landings OK with the …

Hello All,I have been using the CH Products for years and recently the Flight Sim Yoke + Pedals both with USB connectors. I did have some problems with those : brake problem with the pedals and propeller pitch control with the yoke, until I went to CH Products site :http:www.chproducts.com/cgi-bin/fom?file=408 where I found the complete instructions of how to install the hardware : the clue to it is to install them ONE AT A TIME. I therefore uninstalled the hardware and reinstalled it according to instructions. I must say both work now perfectly except for the sound on the propeller pitch control (but that is a MS bug) : when you increase pitch the RPM goes down, which …

I read this and actually had a bit of a smile until I realized they were serious!http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/no...04/jets0421.htmya, this is just what our hobby needs is PR like this crap. And Quantas out of all of 'em. This is the airline that actually worked with us to help try to get the 'Dreaming' liveries available from Peter Max!

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a problem where rectangles get drawn as you fly over the water. If so, were you able to fix it? I don't think that they are shadows (I have shadows turned off anyway). They kind of wreck the realism experience as they appear and disappear. Thanks in advance.I have attached a screenshot. On multi-leg flight plans, sometimes I land at an airport and quickly get ready for departure to continue with leg #2 of my flight plan. With FS9, as well as FS2002, I cannot load a flight plan unless I accept to move the aircraft to another location (or runway). If I don't accept to move my aircarft, the flight plan will not load. With FS2002, FSUIPC had a checkbox that fixed that. However, with my new FS9 (and my new registered FSUIPC 3.22), I cannot find the checkbox on FSUIPC to change that flight loading move-aircraft anoying 'feature'.Does anybody know what do I have to do to stop FS9 from forcing me to move my aircraft when I load a flight plan?Thank you in advance.

Any word on when the freeware designers who were working on CRJ-700s for FS2004, will come out with their planes? It's been months.

Hello gang! This video is truly a work of art! :7 This is the best rendition of "as real as it gets" in my opinion. It's a rather large download (18 mb) but well worth it!!! My jaw dropped from the moment I began to watch it and by the end it was on the floor. A true masterpiece! Here's the direct link: http://www.fsaddon.com/download_files/OrcasLetter.zipCheersJohn KPRB

This ain't for everybody!Just those that want a good quality package at FREEWARE prices.I know some will claim that, "If you want quality, then you gotta buy Payware!" Might be so, but for those who believe there's fun to be had at FREEWARE prices, well, then consider this package. It ain't pretty, but some have said "It's beautiful! It's awesome! I want it!"Okay, but it still ain't for everybody. If you're into backwoods haulin', bush flying, dirt, gravel, and no strips, well, consider it. If you want NO VC, it's got it. If you want a quality VC, well, it's there too. You want bugs on the windshield, it's there. Don't want bugs, it's there too. ;-)You want rain eff…

i need help with this scenario. boeing 777 departs toronto pearson en route to frankfurt. 17 miles from heathrow engine 1 goes up in flames and pilot orders it to be shut down. he contacts heathrow ATC for an emergency landing and is given clearence. prepares for landing, begins decending, realises landing gear is jammed. he is now 9 miles from the runway. what would be the best thing to do and how should he do it . the plane has 20% fuel left and is carrying 85% of its max gross weight.

I try to land with a boeing 757-200 on Samos Greece (LGSM) with IFR flights, but it seems that the location of the airfield is wrong. Every time I end much to high (8100 feet) for landing on RWY 9 and ATC does not allow me to descend earlier. Also on RWY 27 it seems not to be okee. Does anyone have the same problems in FS2004 ? By the way, in FS2002 I had no problems here....Greetz,Tricky.

Hi Ken,Hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, but rather than risk hijacking the Autostar thread, or you missing it, I thought I would start another with a reprise of my reply to you in the former. You said: >In re: FSAutoStart - if you set it to call AutoStar instead>of MSFS - if AutoStar exits immediately after launching MSFS,>then FSAutoStart would detect this and start re-starting all>the services and programs.>>However, I put a workaround for this in FSAutoStart. In the>readme file there is a Q+A section, and the first question is>how to get a program called SplashScreen to work. >SplashScreen launches MSFS in the same way AutoStar would, so…
