I have been having a great time flying the lyon's apache this weekend and just wanted to post a quick note of thanks. This is the first plane I've flown that has an engine model that audibly and numerically has a peak of engine performance that requires adjustment of the condition and mixture. Now I've flown the FSD Cheyenne and the PMDG Beech1900 - their engines require proper management, but it's more like "reduce the rpm or the engines will fail" kind of management. The apache has a true peak of performance - as the condition lever is pulled back you can hear the engines start to run more efficiently (my only problem is that the stated cruise should be 2400 rpm, while…

Has anyone tried this product yet and is it worth buying? Apparently it changes the FS9.cfg file to reflect the type of flying that you want to do.Airbus

Have to say that as a paying customer, having two of my rather polite (probably too polite in these circumstances) and constructive mails totally ignored doesn't fill me with any confidence or will to hand over anymore of my hard earned cash to you mate. Basically Steve doesn't seem to believe me that I have not shared my porter install around and has told me that he has reset it one more time. I assume he means one more and FINAL time (though he never actually said this)I asked for some clarification on this as I intend to buy a new motherboard soon, I also offered some sort of solution to this problem (albeit rudimentary but it's a start) both mails have been sent nearl…

Foreword: I can master them in general, so this is not the point. What techniques do you use to fly curved approaches (old VHHH, LPMA etc.)?I guess, in a real plane, it is a lot easier to fly such approaches because of the wide view angle you have in the cockpit, i.e. you can turn the head 90deg to the right for instance and have a better "feeling" for where the aircraft goes/how it turns. In FS, the view outside is so limited. Of course I can open another external view to e.g. right forward (if I do an approach at Kai Tak, let's say) on the 2nd monitor, but then FS starts to crawl even with all sliders at minimum.Or, I could use the ND of e.g. the PMDG 737 where I have the…

I filed a IFR flightplan with planned cruiseheight of 20000.Result ATC order me to takeoff and climb to 8000. I thereforeasked for cruise altitude increase of 10000. The ATC then tellsme to climb to 8000 and to expect vector to FL320 (which I suppose is 32000) after a while I am told to climb to 16000. I then asked forincrease in cruisealtitude of 2000. After a while ATC tells me to climb to 24000.Where does ATC get its numbers from? Not from me. I have filed IFR plan before and havn't encountered confused orders like this before.

Well - maybe I'm the only stranger in Jerusalem ... but I only discovered tonight that the default textures for the C172, will fit like a glove on the RealAir C172.I was trying to edit the purple and green textures of that wonderful plane, and saw that they have the same "crash" textures as the default C172. Wait a minute! - I thought, what about the main texture files. I tried them and voila! They worked. Now I have a wonderful plane with much better textures than those "puke-purple" and green.Maybe I'm a bit late to discover this, but thought to share it with guys who like the plane and who got stuck in the cockpit.RegardsT

All of a sudden, when I push the keypad keys to go to just behind, just in front and so on in spot view I don't end up with the view I expected. When I push the "2" key I end up at 2:30 instead of at 6:00, the "4" key, and I get 5:30 instead of 9:00.I tried closing down and restarting both the computer and FS9, no change.Even worse the exact setting of the keys seems to be slightly rotating in a clockwise direction.Anyone know what is going on?* Orest

I have purchased the Flight1 Meridian with its advanced avionics.Problem is it's difficult to use all the features when you use the ATC in FS.For example I file a IFR to Seattle. Since I have the Simcgart for Seattle I have waypoints and minimum altitude. I entered these waypoints in the Garmin GPS and used VNAV feature to reach FACTS at 5000 feet. But ATC soon give me instruction to divert from the programmed and according to the Simchart prescribed approach. So I had to abandonmy preprogrammed route. And finds me changing heading and altitudeaccording to ATC.I would like to know what you do who fly planes like the Meridian or others planes with advanced avionics? It dist…

All,I'm interested in adding a aircraft carrier just off the southern California coastline in FS2004. I've found a site that lets you download carriers. However, they don't explain how to add them. I'dlike to have a carrier parked just off the coast so I can try out new aircraft models and so-0n. Any help will be appreciated.

  18. Bought the F117 from Perfect Flight this morning, and flew it several times. I'm impressed with the visuals, the cockpit, and the sound (for the price). The site was slow, but I finally got it. I flew the Iraqi Freedom version to JFK from KABE, and then from KJFK to KPHL. 2 short flights, but I got the hang of how she handles. I've always loved this fighter, and it's just a marvel of aerodynamics in real life and in simulation. Have to say the AP worked well and I was able to hit and hold on 2 ILS's quite easily.Try it; I think you'll like it. Stan

Some questions:1. can Flight Deck Companion (FDC) and Radar Contact be used together in FS9?2. can FDC and PMDG 737 Next Generation be used together?3. can FDC, Radar Contact and PMDG 737 be used together?4. what about also using Advanced Sky 2004 with these combinations? If positive answer, no "interoperability" problems? Is there a particular sequence of starting the applications? Thanks on beforehand for the reactions,Juul TangoHasselt, Belgium
