Hello Gang!For some reason, every time I execute a takeoff in the Meljet 747-400 and I engage the autopilot after takeoff, the aircraft starts gyrating in the opposite direction of the heading bug and eventually enters a type of spin that eventually makes the aircraft plunge to the ground.I have tried several panel to ano avail. Kinda 2 questions here...Here goes, I have my visibility set to 40nm and my cloud draw distance to 50nm or 60nm. Yet I still get those obscure grey clouds in the distance that are constantly flickering and dancing around.Also I thought if I set my visibility to 40nm, the horizon it self would be somewhat covered by a slight haze. Hi,Just wanted to ask if anyone else is having this problem. Looked in the aircraft.cfg and there's two sounds (bnroll.wav and I think bnroll1.wav?) which I seem to have ok in my main sound file. They play ok with windows media player and have tried lots of volumes / sound quality settings in the game but no luck so far. It's weird because I think all my other sounds are playing ok (and it really sucks for knowing where I am when attempting a landing).Anyone else getting this thing?ThanksP

Captains,I admit to being a little confused about the two CTD fixes I have seen advocated on this forum. I know about the Seasonal CTD fix(the one where you replace textures, and replace the terrain.cfg), and I also know about the one where you replace certain values in the terrain.cfg file. But I am still left with questions:1) Can I avoid using one or both of the fixes during all seasons but fall and spring, or should I use them all year long?2) I realize that these fixes will change minor visual things(esp the Seasonal one), but will I really notice them as a guy who spends most of his time at 30000+ ft and just comes down for a landing?3) Why wont MS fix these pr…

HiAfter installing the FSW hifps cloud pack this morning I have had a problem within FS (shown in pic below) There are white squares over parts of the sky which would suggest files are missing or something. I am a very happy UT customer, and have recently downloaded (but not yet purchased) the Spring UT Schedule.Question, is it worth it? I know that sounds cheesy for only $5.95, but do you guys see an improvement on the winter schedules?What if any enhancements come with the schedule, or is it simply a re-shuffling of the flight plans.I like the "realism" of UT based on real schedules, because it shows accurate placement of liveries at their locations. But if it simply re-orders the flights, I'm not sure if it is worth if FOR ME.I understand it is optional and many will believe it is worthwhile, but I would like some people who could compare and contrast and tell me if spr…

Simple question,does Microsoft force feedback 2 work with Windows XP.I cant seen to get any tension or forces at all on joystick.If not what joystick would be 2nd choice.I thought i read on the Microsoft site it doesnt work with XP,nor will it update any drivers,any ideas are much welcomed.

I just installed UT and it works beautifully. Everything works as advertised and I love it. However, I am now discovering that in order to modify/update/change anything relating to AI, you need a considerable amount of knowledge and experience with AFCADS and other stuff. The UT manual is almost incomprehensible. I know nothing about that AI and the forums at PAI look plain scary to me. I've already spent 7 years adding on a/c and panels; ain't no way I'm gonna start spending serious time fixing scenery now as well.My question is this: if I want to instal any additional 3rd pty scenery by Fly Tampa, for example, will it require "fixing" AI AFCADS for any newly installe…

Hi there !Just a happy keen flightsimmer (and real world pilot) who wants to figure out something about the ATC system in FS9.It is no doubt that the ATC system introduced in FS9, was greatly improved in many ways! It's really cool to request VOR approaches,NDB approaches and get valid clearances as well. Still, I think Microsoft has a VERY long way to go before (in my opinion) it can be referred to "As real as it gets". Ok, I know these questions probably have been answered before but I need to know the following.I currently have MSFS 2002 and was wondering if I should purchase 2004. Is there a big enough difference to justify paying for this newer software or should I wait for the next version to come out.Also, does anyone know when the next version will be out? Just watched the above and must say it was a bit disappointing. Having gone through the pre flight at Heathrow and ready for departure a notice comes on that states that "just planes did not get approval for being in the cockpit for departure"...Could have been a 9/11 reason? Dont know. Needless to say I was waiting to see this and its not there. Had I known this I probably would not have bought the video. So a heads up here for those thinking of it. My System: IntelP4 on a Intel Mobo/Chipset (< 1 year old) 1 GIG RAM (but not namebranded or matched, see below) GEForce Ti 4600 video card now using 56.XX drivers Windows XP Home with DirectX9.0b1. Computer code degenerates. The bigger and badder the OS + program, the more degeneration and the more problems slowly, but then logrithmically over time. I dare anyone to much top the complexity of FS9 with WIndows XP. I want to delete the GA and vintage a/c from the default AI traffic file. I have downloaded the GA remove package and the vintage remove package from the PAI website and the PAI installer - but am a bit confused as to what to do. The readme file seems to say that first I have to remove the Commercial traffic using the remove commercial package , then remove the GA traffic using the GA remove package , then re-install the commercial traffic using the commercial add package , then remove the vintage traffic using the vintage remove package.HUH??have I got that right?? Any help would be much appreciated.Barry

I have no explanation why my mousepointer gets extremely sluggish as soon as I start FS. After a couple of seconds it gets back to normal and then again moves very sluggish again, which makes it impossible to operate. I am using Logitechs MX700 and latest mousedriver. No program running in the background, also virus scanner deactivated for the session. As soon as I close or minimize FS no problem. I noticed a news release on Avsim's front page, and went to research the package offered by Abacus. As with recent releases, it seems to contain many models that, in one form or another, are already available on popular sites--including the 757, BAE 146 and ATR....I have FSDS 2--it's a great product from Abacus--one which I should use more. But I am stumped as to why Abacus is selling these packages which seem below just about every payware standard (which doesn't mean they aren't excellent freeware models). Do users actually purchase them? I am curious if anyone here has, and whether the $20-30 bucks is a worthy investment vs. spending the same on one of Flight1's or…

This has happened to me a few times and I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. Here's an example.Took off from Napier, New Zealand for Wellington. Flight was normal but when I was on finals, tuning in the ILS frequencies for Wellington's RW34 (109.9) or RW16 (110.3) resulted in no response from my instruments. Had a look on the FS map, and, sure enough, the ILS beams and frequencies for RWs 34 and 16 did not show.....bummer.Re-started FS and went directly to Wellington and both ILSs were working normally and were showing up on the map. Looks like they should have loaded in on my approach to Wellington, but didn't.Any ideas?
