After a hard-disk failure, and a format, I have reinstalled everything. I have started from the begining. I then tried to install Flight Simulator. The installation process went uneventfully. I then tried to load FS2004. To my surprise, it failed to take me to the main menu of Flight Simulator. It was stuck on the splash-screen. I waited for another ten minutes. Still stuck on the splash screen. I ended the process of Fs9.exe, and then did a complete re-install of FS2004. Maybe it is just my luck, but it did not work the second time. I have tried various solutions found on this forum's search function, and also the FAQ and help section of Microsoft's site. I have tried AL…

Anybody know the cause of and remedy for the error message:"Error loading GPS_Engine. The flight plan will not be used"that appears at startup. I have completely re-installed and it hasn't fixed it. The message seems to be a lie because the flight plan appears to be working normally.

Hi, I need help on ATC. I just painted a fictional airline and in the Aircraft.cfg file, i changed the ATC_AIRLINE, ATC_ID, etc. all of them but when in the game, it still only says the flight number during atc and never says the airline. CAn someone help me how to get ATC to say the airline?!

Forgive me for being such a noob on this - how many other of you guys know that using the number pad to select a view direction in either the 2D or VC modes will hold the image indefinitely in that direction if you first press the number, then Ctrl, then release the number, then Ctrl (in that order)?Makes it really easy to take those over-wing screenshots...Scott

Does anyone know when the Flight 1 Dreamfleet Boeing 737-400 for FS2004 is being released and does anyone have any information about it. (I know for a fact it IS coming out soon because it says that on their website and i have seen it in a few forums.)

I am trying to try out the late Mr Morad's alternate Flight1-approved panel for the 421C - to add cockpit pressurization, etc. I'm stuck on running the "update.exe" which supposedly verifies I have the Flight1 421 installed (I do, honest!). The thing is, nothing explains which directory one should browse to for the verification process - I've tried all the obvious ones but it just says "file missing". I tried simply ignoring it and copying the gauge in anyway - but I get a funny, shortened panel surrounded by blackness.I know it was made for FS2002 and I'm using FS2004, but have read others saying they are using it without a problem. Can anyone help, please?

hiToday I downloaded the Airbus A340 panel by Pasquale Rinaldi a340fs9.zip from the file library. The panel looked really good and I had to go test fly her. When I opened the panel in FS2004 I immediately noticed that it looked very similar to the PSS Airbus A340 Pro panel that I also have.I checked both of the panels closer and noticed that the panel bitmaps on the PSS and this freeware panel ARE THE SAME ! And looking even closer the panel bitmaps are nearly identical. I have included screenshots of both of the panels. Anyone else confirm this ? Infact even the shades and knobs are identical. What do you think ?Jani

For no apparent reason, FS2004 suddenly refuses to load. When I start FS2004, it gets as far as "Loading scenery objects", whereupon it hangs, never loading more than 0% of the scenery objects. When I ALT+TAB out of FS2004, there is a Windows error message that says:Your computer has run out of available memory. Flight Simulator will now exit. You may not have enough free space on your hard drive. Run Disk Cleanup to free up space, and then try running Flight Simulator again.I'm sure it's not a hard disk capacity issue--I've got 4 logical drives and none has less than 14 gigabytes of free space. Looking at what PMDG has already done and seeing how companies like Eaglesoft are doing with the Citation X (that virtual cabin is unbelievable). I can only imagine what PMDG could give us with the BBJ. Flying bedroom, conference room, etc., this should be an awesome add-on to say the least. I don't think we've ever seen a project featuring a business jet that could offer so much fun and potential. I wrote these guys hoping the BBJ was still in line for future release because I for one would love to see that add-on most of all. Until then I'll have the Eaglesoft Citation X.

HiI`ve been thinking of getting the PMDG NG but someone sent me a link to the Arianne site and boy their offering sure looks nice.Since it seems that the PMDG seems to have some small problems right now as well as the cost of getting the 800/900 I`m wondering if it would be worth it to wait and check out the Arianne model?I woud appreciate any thoughts that anyone might have as weather to wait or not.Also is it true that to get the full feel of wondering around the cabin in the PMDG NG you need to buy another addon for FS2004?Thank You

Hey,I have a problem that don't seems to be solved and here's te situation.I have both installed the CH Virtual Pilot Pro and the USB CH Pedals. Since recently i have discovered some problems within FS.When FS is loaded the brakes are on (not parking brakes) and whatever I seem to do they wont get off. I reconfigured all my joysticks and even re-installed FS but the problems isn't solved. Even when I hit the parking brakes they just go on brakes.It really gets on my nerves because I can't even drive the airplane properly.I also use FSUIPC version 2.975 with FS2002. Went to there website to see about a release and saw that you can now pre-order tthem for 199USD but the SRP is 179USD. That doesnt make since to me if SRP is standard retail price. Why would ou pay 20 bucks more to order something that is 20 bucks less once it hits the shelf? Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

I tried out NL2000 for FS9 but the framerates were not goodI also used Eham from Lago on FS2002 and this one is realy looking good...I copied EHAM from fs2002 to fs9 but no afcad...Last week i started to make an afcad2 file based on Jeppessen charts band i finished all the contact gates and now i am verifying the taxi ways/runways and adding the remote positions...Also changed the altitude of the airport because the AI planes were floating...Now i noticed that someone is making an upgrade for this EHAM Lago scenery ( forum lago ) with some new textures as well...Mine could be used awaiting that patch for fs9Still a few days work...John

On a flight from KELP to KSAT in the default lear I opened up my GPS window half way thru and flip on the FPL page. I then click on the cursor knob and CTD. Just wandering if this is something that others have had happen or is it something to do with my system?

HelloAfter many years of flight simlation i now got a real problem.I am using fs9 under winXP media center edition with a GeForce FX 5600.The problem is, that some aircaft textures don't load.The first time i recognized this was with the new IFDG A321 where only the wing textures loaded. After that the same happens to all aircraft in fs9.I downloaded the newest graphic driver and reinstalled fs to fix this problem but without any changes.I also tryed to fix it by chancel all useless processes in windows.May some of you know that problem and have a solution ready ;-)have a nice flightberndps.: please excuse my english. but its a few month ago i used it the last time ;-)

Hey Ryan, just heard you got blocked on your review. Lesson learned for me; folks just really don't want to hear about good stuff anymore it seems. Looks like if you just stick to praisng scenery and or airplanes..your safe. So, I just got the Attitude Concorde; personally I think it's great...but I'm sure there will be those that hate it; and we'll certainly hear about it.Hopefully, that didn't sound like an advertisment. Hello,I've just flown round the Grand Canyon and I seem to have patches of green around. Am I very forgetful and has it always been like that or do I have a landclass error?
