An honest comparison all.I have both FS9 and FS2002 on my system which isAthlon 3.0512DDR RamNvidia Ge Force TI200 128mbAnd without doubt, FS2002 beats fs9 hands down. I find that theframe rates in FS9 are lower at the same airports and also thatthe graphics do not compare to fs2002 at the same airports. What have others found please and what, if anything can be doneabout improving FS9??YoursJohn

  2. is over in the Dreamfleet forum.I had a situation where, whenever I changed views in the cessna 310, and then came back to the cockpit view , the engine sounds sounded like they were coming down a long tube -- kind of an echo/ringing effect. Anyway, there is a "fix" for this now -- works great and I am getting to really like this a/c.At first, I didn't like the handling characteristics , particularly at low speeds on final approach. But a bit of fuel management to ensure that the main tanks on the wingtips are as empty as possible on arrival has made it a lot easier for me -- or is it that I am just becoming more used to it??Barry

I am not normally one to get excited about future releases -- BUT! Having read the latest info over at the Dreamfleet website and forums about their ATR and new B737 , all I can say is WOW!I just hope that the standard of documentation that comes with these matches what looks to be 2 absolutely state of the art FS a/c -- the standards around here seem to be getting so high that i hope it doesn't eventually come back to bite us . I mean -- I could imagine that some developers will be put off trying to compete with these 2.Barry

I'd like to get a list of planes that users have successfully "made AI" using Markus' GA-Traffic program...by that I mean planes that have compressed textures effectively, don't impact fps adversely, and seem to fly somewhat normally as AI (don't bounce too much on landing).I can start the list with those currently in my hangar:Default:Cessna 172Cessna 182 (these two bounce a bit when landing)Cessna 208Piper CubPiper apacheBeech baronBeech kingairLearjetMike Stone's:Piper AerostarBeech Queen Air 65Aeronca ChiefCustom Classics (Lynn and Bill Lyons):Cubs: There's an update at http://windrfters.com/Cubpg4free.htm that I think is improved over the Cub4Free package?Gforce:Ces…

Begging for a little assistance chaps. My spot view in FS2004 seems to have got a little upset with me - think it was since I installed a repainted Mike Stone A380, but can't find any anomolies in these files. The view seems to be much tighter in to aircraft now and can only zoom out to a distance of approx 120 feet (when you get the usual horrible fisheye lens effect).Checked current fs9.cfg settings and have;CHASE_VIEW_TOGGLE=81,10EYEPOINT_UP=13,9EYEPOINT_DOWN=8,9EYEPOINT_RIGHT=13,11EYEPOINT_LEFT=8,11EYEPOINT_FORWARD=8,10EYEPOINT_BACK=13,10EYEPOINT_RESET=32,8- I am assuming I'm looking at correct params, but not sure...Get this effect whatever aircraft I use.Any help gr…

good morning all,i've already posted this question to the posky forum but it seems no one can give me an answer...i've downloaded the latest A330v2 base package from the posky site and after installation it seems that the aircraftmodel does not include any taxi or landinglights - probably i'm using the fs2002 version, but i'm unable to find any fs2004 version (if any). so the question is: is there a new fs9 model somewhere available which include the taxi/landinglights? if yes, where to find?thanks!harald

I want to thank again Markus for GA tools. This is one of the most exciting add ins I have ever seen for FS. I have had ultimate traffic which was great for the class B airports. However, as a GA driver I rarely visit them, and go to airports I normally frequent. One of my home bases-PTK (Pontiac, Mi) is a class D airport and the second busiest airport in Michigan-almost up there with Detroit Metro in traffic numbers. Up until now-it was a desert-now it is filled with GA aircraft, in the pattern, and small business aircraft-making the airport truly alive and life like. This program is magnificent and I am very grateful for it! I can't thank you enough for this great easy…

My FS9 crashes out when I cross the river right out of Buffalo enroute Hamilton at 3000 feet. This is where the addon scenery starts in.But it always crashes on me. I downloaded the latest amendment here. One thing I noticed is that I never diod create a separate OntarioWaterClass folder, but have the water bgl files with the OntarioClass2004 folder. All FS9 water effects off.Anyone have a clue how to resolve this?Allen

Without a full blown cockpit, realistic failures & reactions are NOT going to happen....After wading through the replies to the "What we would want to see fixed in FS2k6..." post; I read numerous requests & replies for more realistic aircraft/system failures.Okay............ say Microsoft programmers or the 3rd parties give us more realistic failures. Say your engine suddenly gives up the ghost for instance. Then what? Without a full blown cockpit including knobs, handles, and switches before our eyes; there is NO WAY we can realistically switch tanks, use the fuel pump, check for fuel flow, switch magneto's back & forth, etc............. in "real" time using …

Ummm this may sound dumb...Is there any way to make the old AFCADs from FS2002 and turn them into AFCAD2s for FS2004 or is there a way I can simply use a FS2002 AFCAD with Fs2004?thanks

  20. Hi. I suddenly started having this strange problem with excludes. For example, the Switzerland Pro scenery contains exclude BGLs for all default arifields (they are repositioned to make them compatible with the scenery). This is done using an exclude BGL for each airport. The actual runway and airport objects are moved, but the flat area around the airport is not. This creates craters, plateus etc. where the old airport used to be. Very strange and annoying.I have messed around with the scenery.cfg, terrain.cfg and fs9.cfg files recently but even after restoring the originals, the same problems appears.Anything I can try short of reinstalling the entire FS9 and all scenerie…

Where are the best freeware replacement building textures for FS9? I've found a few but they all seem to suffer from the problem of blurry/flashing textures until you get extremely close which makes for very ugly flying when I'm trying to look at the city below. This is for a GeForce FX5950 ultra running the latest nvidia drivers. Thanks

Alright, so I broke down and bought it. I had a blast with 2K2, but after all my AFCAD and TTool work (way tooooo many hours), my hard drive died, so I decided to check out FS9. I've had it 3 days now.Clouds are cool, but also ridiculous. Default fair weather clouds in the desert way too low, and they appear even when I've checked cloudless skies. What's with that? ATC seems OK.I can't make the FS Painter A319, A320, and A321 appear in the "select a plane." Is this a known problem? No matter what I do or get (new fde and cfg.) those suckers won't show.If I can't make my AI bountiful and varied, like I had with 2K2, I'll be very disappointed. Is there a v2 of the model tha…

  23. I went flying the other day and when we finished I thought I'd go check out some of the nice airplanes in the hanger! Well there was one called a Cheeta, two props and looks like a Cessna 441. Does anyone know what this is? Who makes it etc...Also, there was something I have never seen on a prop plane before. Both props where indented in. In other words it looked like the props had hit the ground while moving; however the props were brand new. Does anyone know what this is for? I assume its for better performance but not sure. Thanks,Eric

I think it would be cool if there were some program or addon that takes the ATIS of an airport in FS and lets you listen to it from any location no matter how far away. Would be really helpful on aircraft with FMCs.
