I have looked and looked and I cannot find a decent photo or information about the gauge layout of a typical C402C used by Cape Air. Can anybody give me some hints or a resourse? I am designing a custom panel, but I do not know for sure what avionics are typical for Cape Air (i.e. radar, gps, VOR2, ADF, RMI, RadAlt, radios, etc.) Thanks in advance![a href=http://bstockwell.net/MAIP.htm]http://bstockwell.net/images/maip.gif[/a]

Would anyone know why I can't get ATC to change active runways, despite strong tailwinds on the one I want to change? For example, Rwy28 at Dublin(EIDW) is always used for landing and departing flights, even with a 24 kt wind at 260! This method seems to work for others, so why not me(boo hoo!).BR,Frank

I'd post this on the CaptainSim site, but I'm having problems getting registered, anyway, I just bought their 727s, wonderful planes by the way..........took my first flight with a full load of fuel and low and behold, when the center tank emptied, fuel did not transfer from the wing tanks!! I cannot figure out what's wrong. Wondering if any CaptainSim 727 owners out there can help!?Randy Jura, KPDX

Peter has proven to be relentless with his water texture creations. This past weekend he sent me a number of different textures and OceanHeightField (OHF) to try with his recently released add-on. In one of his messages he described how I could easily add additional texture packages to FS Water... whatever I wanted!!Water in FS 9 has proven to be the best ever in the MSFS series. Since its release more than a year ago we've been graced with a numbers of artist's interpretations of what water looks like. All these packages have been great. A few months ago (Mike) Cruachan compiled the best from a number of the water texture sets into one water package that looked stun…

Hee hee.. just causing trouble.I was searching for AMD vs. Athlon and found this old thread:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchAnd the originalhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchAnd feel, given the 747 simulator contest, it takes on new meaning...FS skills are about to be tested in the "real world" or at least a pretty good facsimile. It's interesting that the thread was moved, because I believe its intent was to ask if your FS skills gave you enough confidence to believe you could land an airliner if the pilots got drunk or something (legal in Pennsylvania...).So - could you do it? Maybe the question's been beaten to deat…

since i take to big a frame hit with real world weather i'm going to start using either weather themes or the user defined weather. it seems to work well as far as smoothness goes. i'm just looking to see how others use the built in weather in FS9. i understand using the themes or user defined weather in a 50 mile area but how do some of you set things up for a 500 mile or more flight? do you use a theme or check the weather on TV or the net and set it up as user defined for stations along your route, that match the real outside weather? just looking for some ideas from some folks who use the built in weather system on a regular basis. thanks, william

When using ILS and co-located DME for Biggin (EGKB) I have had no problems with the DME.However I have been unable to raise the DME when used with the NDB at Carlisle (EGNC) and Shoreham (EGKA)I have checked obtained the DME frequencies from Jeppersen and checked with the airfields concerned. I have also tried to find which frequencies Flight Simulator is using - but can't get to them. Can anyone help?

How do you do this? I remember something like %Temp%, but don't really remember!

Hello.I'm wondering if some can answer this.I am trying to use the newly released flight plans for Alaska Central Express by Steve Lewis & Chuck Ford but I think something isn't working right. After installing the only place I see any of these aircraft is at PANC. I thought maybe the airport parking at all of the other locations couldn't handle the plans but after checking that isn't the case.Is anyone else using these and have found these aircraft at any of the other airports they are supposed to be flying in & out of? If so, could you please let me know which airport and at what time you see them there?I was going to contact the author directly but he didn't pu…

Hello All, The other evening I was listening to the 'live' JFK/New Jersey TRACON for departure and approach, now having been an aviatior for the better part of 45 years, I have to say that during that time, I have heard some of the most unusual ATC/Pilot conversations you could think of. However, on this night, I do believe that all the guys and gals who worked ATC that evening should either get a huge pat on the back or a giant raise. It was about the time of the mass influx of inbound foreign traffic into JFK and and surronding airports and some of the readbacks, and such were absolutely ambiguous. Again, having been in this arena for so long, you learn to put together…

Hi All,I was asked to do a paint for the Meljet 747, so I thought I would give it a fly first.I have tried to install it into FS2004, it seems to work ok, untill the AP is turned on, when the AP is on the plane just sort of leans to one side, as if there is a massive crosswind, which there isnt.I guess the FDE is not totally compatible with FS2004, I did a search, but only found problems and no soloutions. So, does anyone know a FDE that with work for the Meljet on 2004?CheersDan.

does anyone know of a site that shows the airspaces and what they look like, i had a FS2002 book that had a diagram and showed the airspaces? thanksadam

Hello,When I fly MSFS2004 and the visibility is set either manually or through a weather program and falls at or below the 10 mile mark, I get a heavy fog effect rather than a graduated haze. I can't see any blue sky or clouds, it's like an automatic heavy stratus overcast when visiblity is 10 miles or less. I still get graduated 'haze', its' just that it's far too dense and unrealistic for 10 miles. In the older FS2002 when visibility was ten miles or so you got a very realistic atmospheric haze effect. FS2004 by comparison looks horrible but only when you get visibility at exactly 10 miles or less. Does everyone have this problem as well? Is this an unfixable …

HelloUnfortuantely I lost my FS2004 installation to a hardware failure and re-setup everything from scrtach (OS, FS...).On a trial flight I started getting a lot of building crashes during taxi or even while waiting on the runway for T/O clearance... (on various airports)I do have some add-ons, but haven't had this problem before.Any idea?Regards,NikP4 3.06 GHz, XP SP2, 2 GB RAM, Radeon X800Pro with Cat 4.8 drivers

I was going to keep it a secret, but I will let it out....it's killing me.....:) Anyway, this is under Win XP and I think Win 98 as well, I don't know if other's have this as well. Go to "My computer" icon, right click and go to properties, click on advanced tab. Then under performance section...click on settings. Then go to advanced tab again. Under memory usage section, click on system cache instead of processor. And make sure that virtual memory is "system managed" without a certain value being entered by you. Anyway, b/c all of the scenery and textures are loaded and then stored in cache, the computer needs to make the access to this information as fast as possi…

Intresting things have happened since i have fs2002 and fs9. So here goesI am on a centre freq when it is silent, then out of the blue a jetliner comes over the radio and says "decend to 15000, virgin 214" Or any other airline. It just happens sometimes and i swear ATC did not tell it to do it.Strange isn't it?

I remember when Oleksey Frolov first published his Dash8 -- what I liked about it most was that it came with an instructional flight which if followed correctly allowed me to fly and land this advanced a/c.Just downloaded the F18 Superhornet -- but, as with many/most freeware a/c, all the effort has been put into creating the a/c -- but no manual or instructions at all. So, can anybody recommend any advanced a/c that come with a step-by-step kind of instructional flight which includes how to land?I find that I can land most slower a/c -- but I can't with others - need some help.ThanksBarry

I have seen the Hawaii add-on that adds scenery and airports circa 1937 (they look great), and aircraft, and am wondering if there is other scenery available for different eras. My interest is in WW2 era scenery. Miller
