I flew on a SW 737-500 into San Antonio the other day and noticed something that made me a little nervous. I was seated about 4 rows behind the wing and I noticed a 3/8" to 1/2" gap in the sheet metal where the engine pylon transitions into the wing surface. The bulge appeared to span an area where two or three rivets where popped. The condition didn't worsen while in flight but after the reverse thrusters were engaged at touchdown the gap closed and all looked normal. Any opinions?

One thing I have noticed is that I have found it hard to appreciate the relative size differences in various a/c. I know that the handling characteristics of different a/c are very different as they should be - but when sitting in the c'pit or viewing an a/c externally, it is difficult to get a feel for the relative size of an a/c that I have never seen before.I was recently at an airshow and was surprised and almost overwhelmed by the size of a Pilatus PC12 which I saw in RL for the first time. Of course, one way to do this is to have another a/c of known size alongside the a/c being flown -- but in the sim , to appreciate this size difference , they have to be immediate…

I downloaded the terrain SDK and am trying to build some terrain mesh, and in the instructions it tells me to go to the following site and just click on the DEM I want. When I click on the city I want, nothing comes up. Am I doing something wrong or is the site down?http://edcsgs9.cr.usgs.gov/glis/hyper/guid...ig/index1m.htmlThanks,Costas

If you haven't seen it yet just check perso.wanadoo.fr/alphableuciel/alphajetpaf.htmlcombined with the photorealistic repaint found on avsim, it's one of the best jet trainer around!Unfortunately it seems not possible to steer on the ground. The rudder would work only at high speed.IS there a workaround/technique anything I've missed so far?regardsLuca

THis happened once before but I have no idea how I fixed it. When I save a flight and click to make it the default flight it asks me if I want to save it over the previous one. That is all normal enough. But that doesn't seem to update the FS9.cfg file so when I restart FS9 I don't get that default flight. Anyone dealt with this before? Thanks!!David

I seem to have lost the FS2004 Beech King Air 350 panel completely. There is no Panel folder. I somehow deleted it. Can someone please tell me how to reconstruct it from the CD's? Thanks, regards, Bob.

To Lars Hammer or anyone else who could help. I downloaded "EditVoicepack" required to fix missing Airlines in my AI traffic. Where do I get ".NET 1.1" that I also require? Thanks Ken

  20. I'd like to program my FMC for PMDG a/c with high altitude airway routings but I just learned that in order to do this, I need to know what nav aids officially lie on which airways. Does anybody know where I can find this info? I currently use FSNavigator 4.5 which has tons of airways but it doesn't give associated waypoint info and I found out that it's dangerous to assume that just because an airway crosses or intersects a navaid, it means that navaid is on the airway!Appreciate any advice or guidance, thanks!JS

Hi,This is first situation:Whenever I file A VFR flight plan, I always check the weather (AS2004). sometimes, weather changes so fast that I get myself into IMC almost without noticing, (for what I've heard, this can happen in the real world too)I always prepare a IFR flight plan just in case this happens, and since my AC are always IFR ready, I decided to ask for an IFR clearance to my destination in the air.ATC always clear me, but they redirect me to my first waypoint on the route, with a 360 turn command...obviously, this is not right...How do you guys manage that?, Is there a way to "pick up" IFR flying on route and continue to the intended destination?2nd situation…
