Has anyone downloaded Vincent's new European mesh? His uploads seem to be a pretty comprehensive coverage of Europe. Any comments on the result?

Hello fellow pilotsWould any of you know where I could find an upgrade to fix the pathetic strobe-lights in FS2000? Strobes by their very nature are meant to flash agressively & brightly....unfortunately the wingtip strobes on all planes in FS2000 flash like someone was lighting then putting out a candle *Yawn* Im looking for an add-on that would give good strobe effects close to real-life strobes....and by that I mean seeing the flash when you go IMC at night, or seeing the flash when you are on/near the ground in darkness. Even FS4 had the in-cloud strobe-reflection effect!I know FS2000 is redundant for all of you on here but I hope someone can help!Thank u :)

I put some add-on a/c manual files on a CD-ROM to print them somewhewre else and now that the job is done, I cannot delete the files from the CD-ROM. Windows XP Home Ed tells me that such files cannot be deleted (big white cross in red circle stuff and serious string music announcing this). I just surfed to the MS website and they say that you cannot delete files on a CD-ROM by design (yeah, by design). I can add files or folders, and I can over-write them too -- but I can never delete them from the CD-ROM. Is this nuts or what?JS

I have been reading the articals in Computer Pilot magazine about the addon plane reviews,they talk about starting up from a shut down state,or a "cold start" engines off....how ever you wish to say it...how do you,how would i..set FS9 up to do this? thats the one thing i miss about Fly and FLYII is the engine start up. any help would be appriteated Dave

OK, (rant on!) I have very few complaints on FS9, I think it is am amazing sim, and haven't had any CTDs or problems with anything else. I mainly fly GA, and love bush flying. Until recntly, I was unable to use real weather much as it was just to much for my G4 4600 to handle, but that is a big part of bush flying, unpredictable weather and IMC. I have a fairly high end rig, clean and strictly for FS and recently got a Radeon 9800 pro just so I could use the real weather when flying. With all the talk about FS2006 going on around here lately, (even though we have not heard anything official if there will be a new version next year). I have already decided - I will not be buying it. After months of tweaking for performance, accumulating a hanger of a variety of great planes, miles of scenery and meshes, not to mention the variety of AI planes I have setup and the $$$ spent on acquiring all those things, I feel I am finally to the point, I am able to just sit back and really enjoy flying a great simualtor and not mess around with things so much. At this point I just want to fly and do not want deal with all the setting up again for a very long time. So …

Just a note to say that I've uploaded an update to my Grand Teton scenery to Avsim (and also to Flightsim shortly) so it should be available soon. This several corrects errors pointed out to me. I've also updated the Jackson Lake dam. Whilst still not 100% happy, I think it looks better than the previous one I attempted!

Hi :-newbie question,I have been using FS2004 for a few months and just installed Ultimate Traffic a few weeks ago. Haven't had any problems but I would like to know if it possible to add an airport and an airline to fly to that airport in UT. I have read the UT help guide but didn't see any references to adding airports. It mentioned importing airlines in FS2004 and using AFCAD in the FS2002 tutorial.I know, from reading the post's on the forum, that there are programs that let you add AI aircraft and change certain features of airports in FS2004. Anyone know these fellows? They're new to me and yet I know they're hosting at least one of my files without permission. That wouldn't bother me were they out-and-out freeware people, but they are one of those sites that have "membership" access in addition to "free" access. After registering with them, I find it absolutely impossible to gain access using the "free" route. Anyone had better luck, or is this an intentional ploy .... ?They seem to have some sort of link with DSB Design in that they host the latter's downloads ... maybe. Didnt see this posted in the Sim Flyer's forum, so I ask here:Are you able to see the runway lights from any farther than 2 miles out in the full licensed version? I have the demo installed but the whole airport is dark until Im nearly on short final. Just wondering before I spend $21 on that. thanks,Eric

This aircraft along with Mr. Marciano's gracious panel gives somewhat of a challange for a freeware offereing. Not quite all the bells and whistles of the PSS panel, but dandy for freeware IMHO.The only dingy thing I have found on the panel is the EGT reads high in the red all of the time with the exception of at idle throttle settings. I tried this with other panels just to see what would happen too. Same thing so I don't think it has anything to do with the panel.To me, the dynamics of the plane are a bit like the first Kittyhawk config and air files. Hi all..Does anyone know how to DECREASE the autopilot callouts volume?? I have this feature on a couple of freeware addon aircrafts aswell on the pmdg.. But the callouts are WAY too loud and I jump out of my seat every time it comes right on final.. : / Anyone?? /johan

Since I know the guys at Microsoft read these forums I thought I'd start a thread on what we would like to see in FS2k6 before it's too late in the development cycle...As of now I can only think of one thing sitting here at work seeing that I'm very busy.1. I hate sitting at airports like KLGA and have to wait for the landing aircraft to clear the runway before being cleared to taxi onto the runway for takeoff... In the real world at extremely busy times, aircraft taking off are cleared to hold for takeoff on the active runway while the landing aircraft is still on roll out down the far end of the runway. I have been using the free GA traffic utility (cool program btw) along with Ultimate traffic for my AI needs. I've been suffering some huge frame rate hits when coming into airports including non-major ones. It's sort of expected but the performance hit has been over the top.Last nite I taxied into KPAE and found 8 Hi-rez PDMG B1900D sitting at the various parking/gates. These were definately not the Ultimate traffic B1900D and are always the same livery I dl'd from PDMG. I know I should have converted the planes for AI use but werid thing is I had uninstalled GA traffic a few days ago.So question is how in the heck are they still appearing? Is this a symptom of a left…

Lots of interest in GA- AI seems to be growing. With the great program GA-traffic by Markus Brunner and more and more GA-AI planes showing up. There are some great free planes by Henry Tomkiewicz and others and a few have paint kits available. Is there any consensus on which planes are more framerate-friendly? The Project AI (PAI) packages are a lot easier to install, but for some reason I have it in my head that Aardvarks are more efficient.

just finished my one millionth test on these two aircraft. these two have been a love hate relationship ever since i've met them. at first they were THE two most unflyable aircraft ever! next day after some more testing they were THE BEST! hands down number one! next day after some more testing i would be so ashamed for saying that. i wanted to crawl under a rock, hide and change my post name on the forums. these guys probably think i'm some sort of nut for saying those wonderful things about those aircraft. no wonder they don't fly the defaults! i experimented with different weights, payloads and fuel. got different results each time. some good, some not so good and some…
