Hello AllI have been flying with FS9 quite hapily for some time now with out any major problems,until now my FS9 keeps crashing after approx 20 to 30 mins of useWhen FS9 comes up with its error message it seems to blame the following module ai_playr.dll.I have searched the forum and there is very little info out there on this error if any, apart from that I know its a default FS9 module.Has any one got a clue what may be causing this error?What exactly does this module do is FS I can gather it has something to do with ai traffic judging by the name.I have tried a recompile of traffic.bgl, this has not fixed the problem it still occursI need help as I want to avoid a comp…

after blasting the baron to bits for it being to pitch happy i just discovered something, again. seems to be working. i have been using the default settings and default resolution 600x800 but ran my desk top at 1024x768 or whatever it is. i remember hearing somewhere to run FS9 and your desktop at the same resolution so i tried changing it to 800x600. then did a recalibration of my stick and tried the baron out, not really expecting much but to my suprise it flew really nice. alot different than before and very flyable. i have calibrated my stick more than once but don't remember changing the desktop resolution to match FS9 so that may have been the fix. maybe someone kno…

Is is common that if you minimize FS2004 to open your browser or open another program that you get that error report to MS and then "program not responding, End Now?"Louis

Working on Lesson 3 in FS2004 - using the CH yoke (USB) I pulled it all the way back to idle when told to do so and the engine sounded like it went to idle. In fact, I'm sure he did. Later he said to reduce speed and reduce to idle. It was in idle position and yes the assignments are correct as is the calibration (Z axis). He continued telling me to reduce to idle so I had to use the mouse on throttle control. Shortly afterward he told me I was distracted and ended the lesson.What happened that I have to use two throttle controls, the lever on the yoke and the mouse on the control in the cockpit? Is there someway I could have inadvertently "killed" the throttle on the yok…

Hi All,I have just been trying out the New Rockwell Shrike from Milton and team, very nice it is too, but I have noticed a strange problem, that I have not encountered on any addon plane before.When the plane start out in 2d panel I get my normal good fps and very smooth sim, UNTILL, I change views.Now, this can be any change of view, to VC, spot, or looking left,right erc, once the view has changed, the sim gets very choppy.This can be cleared by right clicking anywhere on the screen, so the little menu comes up, and then just clicking off this menu to clear it, then the sim becomes very smooth like normal again, untill I change the view, when it will happen again etc et…

I was just on my last leg into EDDF from KSFO with about 160NM miles remaining when all of a sudden FS crashed on me and indicated that 'Facilities.Dll' was the culprit...I was so upset especially after waiting more than nine hours to land this thing but ended with a crash instead...I tried to recreate/guesstimate the last leg using Radar Contact and right after I did, FS crashed again with another error, 'ntdll.dl.' I sent both error reports to Microsoft and sure not to get a response back from them...Whats new: I upgraded to SP2 but I'm sure this is not the problem because I've seen these errors before the update. I just purchased Photoshop Elements 2.0 and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction to find instructions on creating splash screens with that program. I already have the photoshop template file for the background layer and MS logo. I have perused the forums but haven't found any step by step instructions for photoshop. Is there a particular effect file that controls startup effects for most aircraft? I must've downloaded something as a part of another package, because now when I start up most of my planes, I get flashing red lights (simulating exhaust stack flames?) and smoke trails from all the engines for a good 5-10 minutes, even on jets! (Gotta love seeing a POSKY 747-200 with red blinking lights in all four engines and smoke poofs trailing behind!)Eventually the smoke trails go away, the blinking/flickering red light stays around a bit longer. Have a weird thing happening and wanted to see if anyone else knows something about this. I planned a flight from PANC to RJBB (Kansai) using FSBuild. This plan is imported to FS9 and to PSS and PMDG. When I take the flight I get a CTD about 3 hours into the flight. I have used both the PSS A340 and RFP 747v2. I haven't actaully been sitting in front of the computer when it happened but I have been monitoring memory usage which hovers around 600-700 MB. So I don't think this causes the crash since I have 1GB RAM. I have implemented the seasonal CTD fix. I'm not sure but it seems to be happening somewhere near the transition from the western to eastern hemisphere. …

Hi! I have a problem with the water effects.. there is no difference when i have them on the highest and when i turn them off. I have tried to install new textures and stuff, but that didnt help.. I am running a athlon xp 2400+, geeforce 4 ti4600 and 1024 mb ram. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanx

Hello again FS pilots :)I've run into a small problem and I was hoping you panel-design gurus could please advice....The Boeing 777 panel in my FS2000 shows only 2 display screens: the PFD & a MFD (Multi Function Display - for the newbies :))As you all know there is a 3-mode display switch on the 2nd MFD to select:1. Navigation Display (ND)2. EICAS 1 (Primary Engine data)3. EICAS 2 (Secondary Engine & Fuel data)I wanted a third display on the 777 panel because I wanted to view the Nav Display *AND* the Engine Display at the same time. So using CfEdit I cloned the MFD. It seems I've lost my landing lights illuminating the runway. I must have accidentally deleted or changed some files in my texture folder. Please tell me how to restore my lights. I will then upgrade them to the Xenon lights, but I need the original file. Perhaps someone will e-mail them to me or tell me exactly where I can find them on my CD's. Thanks,

At some occassions it happens that FS9 crashes for me. It can be for just loading a flight or in the middle of the flight. The screen goes black. In best cases a message show up telling me that FS9 hasencountered a serious problem and needs to be shut down. In worstcase the mousepointer freezes and nothing happens, until I press theresetbutton on the computer. I have heard that Win XP can't crash like this since it never leave full control of the system to a program. Meaning that such cases must be because of unstable hardware.I use Athlon XP 2400+ 512 M DDR RAM GeForce4 MX 440 graphics cardand Audigo player. Win XP pro.Any suggestions?

Hi allAfter an attack of the Sasser virus and crappy help from Dell who should have spotted the problem straight away when I told them the syptoms I (unecessarily!) reloaded windows, and had to reinstall FS9. Since then I've had no ATC voices. In the drop down menu to choose which voice you prefer there's nothing there, the menu is empty! I don't want to reinstall FS9 again, does anyone know a fix?ThanksBen

Hi fellas I downloaded the Air Canada and Westjet schedules from Project-AI and installed them. Both work fine except for two very annoying features: 1. Neither of them actually land; they just show up at the gates[not very realistic]. There are lots of gates and they all have the proper airline code, as does each aircraft,in its aircraft config file. All the aircraft I've scheduled myself work fine, so it's not that I'm doing it incorrectly. 2. ATC only calls out "Air Canada" when communicating with the air craft; it won't recognize the "Westjet" name. The Westjet name is in the "Airline config" file in the FS9 folder. I was on a long haul flight and when I finally woke up I had a window in fs2k4 that said "weather not available" and a big ok button. Apparently this happened within 15 minutes of leaving the cockpit and the flight didn't progress any further (on a 10 hour flight). Is there any way, other than turning off wx updates, to disable this window from appearing?

What is the best flightplanning tool for FS2004? I'm primarely interested in the pure flight planning issue, which I find awkward in FS. I wan't to be able to select departure destination and waypoints by clicking on a good map.

I was looking in the main folder of FS2004 and saw that there is a fs2000.cfg file, a fs2000.exe file, and a fs2002.exe file in there. What purpouse do those file serve being in the FS2004 main folder?
