I have just started flying EagleSoft's Citation X - which is great, even if it does drag my machine to it's knees. Have done a search on the forum for use of anti-ice on jets but not much luck... At the moment I am turning ON pitot heat & windshield before I taxi, the rest I tend to put on when the temperature goes below zero - however I am sure that this is not the correct useage, can anyone enlighten me to the correct use of engine / airframe anti-ice ??Any details appreciated..CheersG

Recently I've been experiencing these strange raised terrain with water bodies on top of them. This is happening around Seattle KSEA and Chicago KORD but probably in the whole US as well. But it was fine at frankfurt EDDF and Munich EDDM. Any suggestions???Is it a mesh problem? If so can i download some mesh files to fix them?Thanks guys~Eien

Hi,my textures reload so frequently in FS2004 ,while flying i can see some squares go blank and reload again in secs.that happens usually when changing my view , happens even for default AI aircrafts, thus makes my fps drops to 3 or 5 for a sec then return back to its normal.i.eI have the best driver for my videocard 56.72 NVIDIA FORCEWARE i normaly get 30fps and drops to 20 with heavy clouds i never had this problem in FS2002I dont have any money right now to upgrade i was just asking if there any tweaks i can do??????????everything else works fine and smoothly.my system specs:P4 1.7GHZ with 400bus256mb RDRAMGeforce fx5200 128MB40GB WESTERN Harddrive

I have been simming for some 10 years and am very fortunate to have what i would term as a very good setup. But with our hobby growing at an amazing pace and new addons being developed every day I wonder if there is something I am missing. Let me set the scenario. At last, some kind soul has sorted out the coastline on Long Island and got rid of the building blocks at the east end of the island where Microsoft's scenery chaps must have gone to lunch in a Montauk pub and never come out.Moreover, I now have the creek and nature reserve behind my house in Bayville, NY, which was filled in by default. I was just wondering how to read weather, can anyone help?

I have the free RealAir Cessna 172SP. I was wondering if the 3d panel is an amended MS default or whether it's all RealAir. The reason I ask is that I find the digits on the radio stack don't seem to be very clear. I assuming that this is either due to my monitor or due to the fact that RealAir have partly used the default Cessna (which also has unclear didgits). If it's my monitor then I know what to put on my Christmas list! If it's un upgraded default Cessna, I'll add something else to the list!I've heard such good things about RealAir's products that I feel I should get at least one of their payware products :-) Victor

I know the latest versions of FSUIPC can convert a button press to key press on the FS computer. Problem is I am using Advanced Voice Client on a second computer with Squawkbox to fly online. I have an intercom system with push-to-talk switch just like a real aircraft. This worked well with Roger Wilco because it supported voice-activation, which only kicked in when I actually had the PTT button pressed. AVC does not support voice activation and that is probably a good thing for most people flying online. I've decided I could rewire the PTT switch to a USB joystick button but AVC does not even support button presses - only key presses. Bottomline - I really need a little …

GuysCan anyone explain exactly what this does in FS? The reason I ask is, I've seen recommendations to disable it to solve various problems concerning panel display problems etc.What effect does it have when it's enabled/disabled, and why should it be that VFR england and wales photorealistic scenery crashes at 77% when trying to load it with RENDER_TO_TEXTURE disabled?At exactly 77% I get the famous "Microsoft has encountered a problem.." message, anywhere else in the world I can start FS normally, but I can't actually see any visual difference between enabled or disabled?BestGrahame (EDHL)

HiI have the Real Charles de Gaulle scenery from the people at FS France, I installed as per instructions etc, but I do not see it in my add on scenery in FS9,IE, when you go to World>go to Airport>search add on scenery there are all the UK2000 sceneries etc, but no CDG, I did do everything as it said in the read me file, but it's not thereany ideas please,thanksSteve.PS theres the main folder called RealCDG,then the subs for Texture and Scenery, if I type in the code LFPG then I do indeed start at LFPG !

Hi all, i am having trouble trying to get 2004 working as good as 2002 regarding scenery, when i am on the runway in 2004 in the cockpit it looks fine but as i lift off the scenery all round is shimmering bad, i have tried all sorts of alterations on settings till it gave me a bxxxxx headache!!, i tried in the search pages and found about going to the FS9 cfg file and looking for TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT and changing a number there to a higher figure, but try as i might i cannot find this page in any folders ,i use the path the same to get to both folders 2002/2004 ,my comp/program files/microsoft games/2004/etc, so can anyone tell me how i get to it to try to see if this w…

The Microsoft press release mentioned that the terrain mesh will now work up to 19 meters per elevation point seperation. I thought that this was available today???? Was this an error and they meant to say 9 meters which was the resolution of the old FS2002?Just a comment on the net Autogen items. While they are quite nice, the placement of highly detailed items on top of low resolution (4.8 meters/pixel) ground textures results in an odd appearance - very nice "things" setting on top of slime! I have Iain Gallacher's Edinburgh (EGPH) scenery and I have a problem with it, there are green hangers showing up in the scenery that are not supposed to be there. These hangers are the same ones that are found in Aeroworx's Johannesburg airport scenery. These hangers are covering parking spaces and blocking a taxi route. I would like to remove them from the Edinburgh scenery.I wrote a email to Iain Gallacher and he said to put the Johannesburg scenery above the Edinburgh scenery in the scenery list and that should get rid of the hangers, but that did not work. I emailed him back a few weeks ago saying that didn't work but I haven't heard anything else from him. Does anyo…
