I am looking for a good 737-400 panel, digital if possible... I am using a photo-real one, but the one I have right now, in combination with the aircraft I am using it with is causing a major headache in the FPS department. Hence my problem, one that will give me good FPS with the FFX 734, and if it's needed, I am using Tomasz Elantkowski's LOT repaint with the panel (maybe the paint is the problem?).EDIT : Just asking for a few opinions so I know what to look for when I search through the files (which are mostly remakes of the default 737 panel)

Hello, Iam very frstrated and I need some help. Everytime I install fs2002 it gets to 48% and then a screen pops up and says... * Set up failed to extract files from M:/GMAX.CAB. This is most likely caused by low memory( low disk space for swapping files) or a corrupted cabinet file.* Now i don't have any idea what to do to fix this problem, I already tried clearing out memory by clearing out some space on my hard drive. Do you guys have any ideas? Chris

Wouldnt it be cool to have the aircraft make the bump sounds that you hear when running over the centerline lighting? Maybe a tiny file could be associated with all the runways that have centerline lighting that caused the aircraft to 'bump' as the gear rolled over it, but only if the footprint of the wheels actually were in the area that the centerline lights existed. Just a thought...

Has anyone any experience of this product/service? I believe this is available by subscription from Jeppesen(expensive!), with monthly(?) updates. The reason I ask is that I came across one of the disks on offer at eBay, which claimed to have comprehensive coverage of 4,500 airports worldwide. It'll probably go for 80-90 dollars.BR,Frank

The attached jpegs are of my Rutan Boomerang, which is nearing completion after nearly two years of on-and-off work. These pics are of the main model as of about 2 months ago. It is now complete, with full external textures. I am still working on the internal textures, along with the panel and VC. I am teaching myself XML to try to model some of the rather unconventional instruments the Boomerang uses. The biggest hurdle is the flight model, but I am leaving that to last - I think I am happy releasing a visually complete model and tweak the flight model gradually. The only clues I have are a rather in-depth report on the plane from a Sport Aviation issue from 1996 - the per…

I really liked using the keyboard to change display settings. Also, I know METARs can be used via FSMetar with FSUIPC, but can they (or TAF files) be read natively by FS2004 without FSUIPC? If so, how?

The ILS gauge on the Captains panel seems to be inoperative when intercepting the ILS. Anyone else have this problem? I've scoured the manual but haven't a clue why it's not working. Perhaps I've overlooked something in the manual? Other than that what a great aircraft. Thanks in advance for the help. Craig [email protected]

Hello,We are considering creating some high quality models for use in MS FS 2004. They would include both 2d, and 3d cockpits, as well as a fully functional FMC. These are the aircraft we were considering: RJ 85/100, MD 81/82/83/87/88, 737-300/400/500, A318/319/320/321 and 777-200/300 We would like to know how much interest there is in the community for quality plane models, and which one you would like to see first. If you have further questions, feel free to ask!

What keeps me flying with MSFS? Narrowing it down to one reason that keeps me coming back for more is the fun of flying airliners by the numbers as best I understand them. I love to take off, climb out and land smoothly, within the context of a smooth simulator. That is what I reflect on about FS9 when I'm not flying. How well I emulated what a trained ATP might have done. I almost never think about how pretty the scenery was on departure and arrival. I had to get that honest in order to restrain myself from becoming a tweak-a-holic; I turned down the (I mean off) the eye candy in order to achieve the kind of smoothness that my rig will effect for me. Right now the excel…

To all concerned, one thing I've found that helps on framerates that I don't think has been mentioned before concerning WindowXP/FS2k4 is those happy 'Visual Effects' desktop features that are all on by default (these settings are found in your 'Systems Properties' under the 'Advanced' tab). Most if not all these features should be cut off in your logon that you use to run Flight Simulator. Wallpaper, Animated Windows, Fade out effects, etc. should be turned off. Use your own discretion at to what you need, I found I needed some things (for example show contents while dragging actually is needed if you move the ATC window in FS2k4 like I do) but remember all those lit…

I was wondering why a few 3rd-party add-ons cause a minor problem when you load in on a flight. The tool-tips and other sim-generated messages don't show up, just their backgrounds. I've noticed this with the PMDG 737's and the Citation X (just to jog my memory). For example - when I load in at a gate, the message that usually appears at the bottom of the screen about your parking brakes being on is just a red bar, no white letters. If I switch out to another plane, say the default Lear, the problem goes away, and I can read messages and ATC announcements just fine.Is this a problem with the sim, or just the specific planes? Thanks in advance.Scott

(1) I like the improved terrain that comes with RealScene, but I'm not too fond of the landclass scenery. Is there a way I can install only the 38.2m terrain, without the landclass?(2) If I want to use replacement ground textures (for example, desert_woods_2004.zip in the Avsim library), do I need to do anything differently since I have RealScene landclass scenery installed? I installed the wood/desert textures into the /FS9/World/Scenery/Texture folder as I was supposed to, but I don't see them while flying. They're not showing up.Thanks in advance for any suggestions.-Jason
