  4. In your opinion, what is the best flight planning software for FS2004 that will allow you to not only choose automatically choose your waypoints between A to B, but allow you to change the waypoints between A and B, and allow for an Alternate airport? Thanks,Eric

HowdyWas just wondering if someone could do a check of their FS Aircraft folder and let me know if there should be two .dp files (default.CDP and default.dp) present? Was playing around (yes, I know that's dangerous) with an aircraft switching programme and I think(?) it has written a new .dp file to my folder, but I cannot be sure. As I am no longer using said switcher now, I would like to return things back to the way they were before.TIA

I have a headset that I use for real flying and I wired a circuit to work with VATSIM and it works very well. I recently purchased a portable intercom system on ebay so that I could have a copilot plugged in too and we could talk back and forth. The unit has a jack to plug in a push to talk switch, which I understand, but every PTT switch I have ever seen has its own receptacle for the mike plug - not simply a switch that plugs into the intercom. Anyone who can shed some light on this? Thanks much!DavidPS - ignore the fact that I don't yet know how to have the PTT switch trigger the intercom as well as strike the hotkey for Advanced Voice Client! Sure worked better with t…

I've downloaded and installed the FSGenesis freeware terrain. So far, it looks pretty good to me. But I read in another post that these files are different from the files you can purchase from FSGenesis, and that they are not as good. Is this true? What is the difference?I am considering purchasing FSGenesis Landclass data. Is it worth purchasing for NE USA? I fly mostly in the Boston - Maine area. Does it redo where lakes are and so on? If it does it and does it accurately this would definately make me buy it.Is there better landclass for this area (Nashua, NH - KASH) than FSGenesis from somebody else?Thank you,Thomas

I am newbie to FS2004 but have spent a lot of time on it since I bought it. Duh!! I have mastered takeoffs and landings on my favorite default B747-400. Yesterday I downloaded a POSKY B747-400 and it was totally different expirence!! Not only I was crashing on take offs and landings but the actualy ascend rate is very different. Can anyone tell me why it is so different? Personally I feel that the POSKY is more realistic. Also, my POSKY aircraft is like a few feet above ground (like hanging in the air) when its taxing or parked. Does someone know how can I fix that? Thanks in advanceBobby

I'm new to Flight Simulator/FS Navigator. I just downloaded the new AIRAC cycle data, and it was great to see the updated data was correct. However, I noticed that FIR boundary changes were not updated. Are FIR boundaries supposed to be updated with the AIRAC cycle, or is there some other way of getting updates to FIR boundary changes? As I said, I'm new to the flight sim, so I'm not familiar with what is normally included in the AIRAC updates other than way points and airways. Thanks in advance.

Ive pondered this a lot. When you say you are going to fly around the world it sounds simple enough, but is it?For example. You could take off from Alert in northern Canada and follow the line of latitude round the north pole and land back at Alert. In an airliner this can easily be done in one flight, but is it round the world? Is traveling through ever degree of longtitude enough? I dont think it is.On the other extreme there is the mathematical principle of a "Great Circle", which simply speaking is a circle that would cut the sphere perfectly in half, it doesn't have to follow any longtitude or latitude. However to fly around the world at the equator, or from po…

I see that Visual Flight www.horizonsimulation.com are having a special offer for September on the UK VFR Photographic Scenery and VFR Terrain. I've seen some positive reports from users, but also one big thumbs down from someone who missed all the (removed) autogen buildings as he flew into Heathrow. So, two questions from those of you who have it: do you think the Photographic Scenery worth buying, and if so, is it worth also getting VFR Terrain as well? (The FAQ says the photo scenery has a cut down version of the terrain included, but some users have suggested that the Terrain product did make a further improvement). Thanks for your comments.--Bryn
