I do plan on getting FSwater soon, but for now I am using the freeware water textures. I have waterzone.zip textures installed now but I'm thinking of changing them. I would like to know which textures are better waterzone or vater? What advantages does one set of textures have over the other? Which one is better?

yet another silly question. I'm sure this has been answered a million times:I load an airplane, and shortly after I start the engines, everything shuts down......what gives?ricardo

Sometimes when I double click on the FS9 Icon I get the followingerror message."Your computer does not have enough memory available to run Flight Simulator. The program will now quit."Then thing is this doesn't always happen and if I keep on clickingon the icon it eventually fires up OK. However sometimes alsoI get error messages telling me I don't have authority to write filesto FS9 or something to that effect.Would welcome any pointers on how to solve this annoying error messages. It goes without saying that I have plenty of RAMand that there is hardly any CPU activity, etc.RegardsJoaquin

Hello all, I am trying to get Ultimate Traffic installed on my Windows 64 machine but nothing seems to want to happen. When I double-click the executable, nothing opens. It just doesn't want to start the install wizard. Anyone else experienced anything like this?ThanksBrian

I have the CS727 and it's a very nice plane, probably one of the best visual models out there. The one thing that let me down was the flight dynamics. Does anyone have a comment for the new CS707...from what I've read it should be substansial better this time around.Incidentally...I saw the video of "Tex" doing a barrel roll in the Dash 80, precursor to the 707 and this has got to be the most spectacular thing I've ever seen. I have just examined the demos of Dubai, Miami, and Tampa by Fly Tampa and have the following questions:Note: This is with a high end system and FS9.First of all, let me make it clear that these questions are in no way meant to be a negative reaction to what I have seen. Hi AllTrying to quickly get up to speed with FS2004. Lots of questions, but my main bug right now is that I can't figure how to start off a flight without the engine running when I get in the cockpit. It is running even when I am a a gate or park.It seems very quiet at the international airports too! AI traffic is set to max. Do I need a 3rd party AI traffic program?The FAQ post in the 'tips & tricks forum' has been very useful!regardsGraeme

I started FS2004 the other day, and loaded up Fabrizio Beretta's 734 panel, only to find a number of the gauges (which rpeviously have worked) were not displayed.Upon further testing, I have established that for some reason, FS is only displaying .gau gauges cprrectly, but refuses to display XML gauges.I suspect the reason in somewhere within the Windows SP2 updates, which contain new security settings which impact what windows and IE do with scripts - XML files are considered to be scripted and are therefore subjected to the new security.I have tried disabling the Local Zone Lockdown settings in the registry, which override the setting the user can set in control panel f…

My Dads gone. He died on Sunday morning with no warning. I loved him so much and will miss him more than anything. I feel like my hearts going to burst.He never visited these forums but he was a massive flight sim fan. He would spend hours and hours on the pc. Much more dedicated than me. Hi all-I'm running FS9 on two different drives: C and D with separate OSes (both XP Pro). Is there a way to switch between drives without having to reboot? I tried setting up additional users thinking I could use fast switching but evidently that only works within the drive, not between drives.Thanks for any suggestions,Mark

Hi all,I currently have a Geforce Ti4200 128MB, which runs the CaptainSim 707 at about 12fps with most of my sliders on low or medium. This quite frankly SUX as the fps totally ruins any immersion/feeling of flying a B707 because of all the stutters and harddrive loads etc... Therefore, I am finally going to update my 512MB PC2700 (333) ram to 1GB and get either an ATI 256MB 9800XT, 256MB X800 Pro or most likely, a 256MB X800 XT. However, I could do with some of you that have these cards, letting me know what frame rates you get an what settings you have.So, if anyone can contribute their system specs etc... then please do so.

Have just purchased simwings Madrid scenery. Airport is great but the surrounding countryside is a mess. Looks like a mix between the Himalayas and the Grand Canyon. Have looked for errors in my sceneries and also disabled the sim-wings scenery but same effect. Looks like the problem is in the default. Anyone else getting this strange problem?????RegardsMiles

Hi guys,what I am really wondering is why there are no add-ons available that offer additional voices to FS. I am kinda sick to her the same stuff all over again. There must be a way to alter the voice pack inside FS inorder to get some new voices, accents and othe stuff in there. My guess is it does not happen because it takes a lot of work to record all the voice prompts. Am I right?aLEX
