I don't know whether anyone is interested in this, but here is an around the world flight plan via a Northern Route. An aircraft with a range of at least 1,200 miles is needed. I used the Cessna 421 Golden Eagle for my flight.I also inserted a cruise altitude of 5,000 feet for my plan throughout. Where a higher altitude is needed to clear terrain, ATC will so direct you. (All plans were IFR). I realize this is a lot of bird to be flying low altitudes when it has a capability well above FL200, but I wanted to see the scenery and could not find another which fit the range requirements as well. I leave this decision up to the purist.I also maintained 32"Manifold Press and 1,6…

I've seen quite a few posts lately....many a bit too hot under the collar, about whether an "average" GA aircraft (such as the Warrier or Cessna 172 etc) displays a nose up or nose down attitude on deployment of flaps. For a developer this is a nightmare, because everyone's right and wrong at the same time!My understanding of flap deployment in the vast majority of GA aircraft is that 99% of flaps produce greater lift but of course also drag. The INITIAL response in pitch can vary depending on speed, loading and C of G at the time of deployment. The initial reaction is not the same as the EVENTUAL reaction. For instance, A Piper Warrier with 2 heavy passengers in the back…

When the FS9 patch is released (my guess is Saturday) I expect we'll see a number of posts saying how fantastic/great/nice/average/poor it is on each persons system. In order to reduce the potential number of new threads, is it possible to create some sort of "Patch" sub forum so that messages can be more easily read?

I have set up a flight with a crosswind. I know that it blows intermittently. The problem is that sometimes there are fairly long gaps in which it does not blow at all. Is there a way to make the wind appear a little more frequently ?(I don't want 'gusts', as they blow more strongly than regular wind, I just want the wind to blow more constantly.) Thanks in advance.

For the first time, I requested a refund on a purchase from Flight 1. The software wasn't defective in any way, just not to my liking. You won't believe the kind of reaction that I got -- NONE!No hassle. No questions. No complaints. No b*tching. My account was promptly credited after I agreed to erase everything related to the software off of my computer. That's why I will continue to purchase from Flight 1 with confidence. They are quite a class act.Wilson

Ever wondered why airliners burn alot of rubber on landings? This is another offtopic, but maybe some of you have an answer! So why is it? Why do the wheels not get spinned up before landing with somekind of system? I'm thinking of radialwindmills fitted on the wheels. Why aircraft manufacturers not incorperate such a feature and save alot of rubber and tires? Is there a practical reason to land with non spinning wheels? Only thing I can think of is heating up the tire to increase the grip-level, but doesn't sound to realistic to me.Any ideas?Claudio

I see a thread with the title:"Some FS2006 suggestion I have sent to FS team"and what I huge dissapointment if you take a flight (in Alaska for this example) ... you have the beautiful mesh for Alaska ... you do everything as from the book ... flightplan - realweather - ATC - AI traffic ... and you set off for a two hour cross country flight, just to arrive at your destination and to find the runway in a huge grave!- but I'm sure this does not need a patch, after all - it is as real as it gets, isn't it.Please send some pictures of the runways in Alaska that are in huge graves.:-)RegardsTerblanchePS: If the runway elevation is correct, and the mesh is correct, what is goi…

Under a thread posted on the forum regarding running MSFS under two drives the topic went as they often do onto a different subject. This involved a discussion on the Primus 1000 navigation system which I was having with Bill Leeming of Eaglesoft. As I fly a Citation Bravo with primus 1000 real world I used some real world pics to add colour and realism to the discussion.I found that these shots had been removed by the administrator.I do not have the creative computer skills that many here have and am known for adding Real world shots to bring a flavour and colour into the forum over a number of years.I personally feel that it is important to have a connection between our s…

Hi,I have noticed that the cabinwindows and the landinglight splash on the fuselage uses the same bitmap. This means that the cabinwindows only can be lit together with the landing lights. :-hmmmIs there anyway to assign another separate night bitmap with only the lit cabinwindows, and one with both cabinwindows and landing light splash?Fly safe, Staffan AhlbergSweden/Stockholm/ESSAMD-11 Panel Team - Beta testerMy specs are:Dell Dimension 4600 P4/3.0 Ghz512 Mb DDR333 Dual channel memory128 Mb ATI Radeon 9800 ProCatalyst 4.7DirectX 9.0bE171FPb Flat panel monitor 17"240Gb (2x120) 7200rpm HD

Just to say, I bought this product two days ago. I'm not a real world pilot, I have been simming for a long time and I know how much enjoyment I'm getting from this product. I thoroughly recommend it to everyone. Its more demanding than the default, and it feels right.Thats all!!RegardsAdrian (nothing to do with anybody who sells this product)

I am trying to track down a "bad" bgl in my scenery library that is giving rise to an area of elevated Lakes and airfields near to the Adirondack regional airport (KSLK). I believe this may be a legacy of some addon USA mesh installed a good while ago and subsequently deleted - this mesh made by Rob Gainer, appeared in various places and had faults giving rise to odd effects often thousands of miles away. I thought I had deleted it all but by chance I discovered this small are of odd terrain effects around KSLK- now trying to find the bgl responsible. It would help me to know a few things.......1: Can someone who has just done a fresh install - look in their sce…

Hello, I've e mailed Realair support with this problema and received a very prompt reply (many thanks Realair). From their comments, it would appear that the error is with my system rather than the Scout program. I did a search but didn't find anybody else with the same thing. If nobody else reports a problem I conclude that it's probably my system. However, I thought I just do a quick post just in case there was someone that did get it, hadn't posted, but had resolved it.When I'm using the Realair Scout and I try to contact ATC, I hear my "voice" ok. However, when ATC reply all I hear is a sort of tat,tat,tat.tat... To continue I need to press the key which corresponds to…

Hi AllI just have a quick question, I know I've seen this somewhere before, I just can't seem to find it. How do I turn off the flying tips? Like when you land and shut off your engines. This thing keeps popping up on how to start them again. It's really starting to bother me!!!!!:-grr I've turned of cockpit tips, but that only afects when you hold your mouse over something.HuggsKittiex:)~ This system is: AMD 64 3500+ 939 ASUS A8V Deluxe with wifi GCorsair TwinX1024 3200 XL Pro 2 36gig W.D. I was flying an ILS Approach to Cancun on FS2K2 last night and was told to expect vectors for the ILS Rnway 12 approach. However, my needles never come 'alive' when intercepting the localizer. Is there something I have to do to assure that my glideslope and vector needle are operating.

Hello everyone,A friend of mine recently installed the GoFlight GF-MCP Advanced auto pilot system onto his computer for a more realistic autopilot experience. I've had the opportunity to try it out, and it's quite fun! However, we both noted a recurring issue, and I'm wondering if anyone else might know how to fix it.When climbing or descending, the V/S selector will indicate a given rate of climb or descent (on both the system and the panel) and while initially the aircraft holds the V/S, it then loses its value during the climb/descent right after selecting a new altitude. Here's a scenario:I was climing from 2000ft to 13000ft at a rate of 3000ft/min (the aircraft ty…

I recently visited the new Udvar-Hazy Air and Space museum near Dulles airport at Washington, DC. At the museum they have a simulated ATC demonstration loop depicting the screen of a controller bringing aircraft into KEWR, and the audio communications between the controller and the pilots. Everything was as MSFS had led me to expect, except for one thing: The controller and the pilots all spoke like that speed-speaker guy who once appeared on FedEx TV commercials (i.e., very, very rapidly -- as if radio time cost a million dollars a minute or something). You folks who are RW pilots probably already are aware of this, and while flying FS9, I've often had it in the back o…
