Stupid and late question I guess, but I was just starting to look at downloading more AK sceneries and was wondering if the add-on sceneries from 2002 were compatible with MSFS2004 (assuming any add-on terrain meshes, etc).Thanks (again)...Jeff aka mrMertz

I have a few questions about the new Dreamwings Dash 8-Q4001. What is the landing speed for the Dash 8-Q400?2. Does the Dash 8-Q400 have a auto throttle? I don't care if the plane does not have a auto throttle, but the panel Im using for this plane has a auto throttle buton and I can't get it to work. If the Dash 8-Q400 does have a auto throttle then how do I get it to work?3. Does the Dash 8-Q400 have auto spoilers like most jets? I can not get the spoilers to deploy automaticly when I touch down.I hardly ever fly prop planes in FS2004 but I really like this new Dash 8-Q400!

Hi All,I just got this wonderull little plane the other the Day. I have to say its got one of the best VC's around. But I cant see how I would navigatre in it. There was some talk about an icing gauge in the ActiveSky forum a while ago. Anyone knows if something like that exists? Or is some wizard able to do one? My deepest gratefulness would be assured.Alex

The question is real simple...somehow fs9 thinks Denmark is UTC+1, but we are not, atleast not until a couple of days. The thing is that it's wrong in a lot of places. I downloaded a program called FS Real Time, but I don't know if I'm using it right. I just run the program, but I guess it takes it time from fs9 also because it doesn't make a difference.

My computer is only a 1.2ghz Athlon and most of the planes I fly are repaints of the default aircraft 'cause that's about as much it can handle without frame rate loss. I downloaded a few of Posky's 757s and my frame rate was horrible. Basically unflyable. Isn't there away I can compress the textures to DTX texture to improve my frame rate. I've got a tool named DTXbmp but haven't a clue how to use it. Can someone lead me in the right direction.Thanks

As I live between Valencia and Alicante in Spain I enjoy flying along the coast between these two airports.However both the FSNavigator map and the default FS9 map don't (understandingly) show towns along the route.Does anyone perhaps know of an add-on map that would give this degree of detailed information?

Hi everyone,Hope someone here can help me with this problem. Was using afcad to modify a dead airport in fs9. I extended the runway, added taxiways and parking aprons. I did notice that when adding the taxiways in afcad, only the yellow marker lines were showing and no textures. When I tried running the airport in fs9, all i could see was the runway and the parking aprons but no taxiways except the yellow lines showing through the grass. I had the taxiway texture set for concrete so I'm at a loss as to what's wrong. I've used the afcad program before to modify other airports with no problems at all. Hi all,For those who fly this fantastic aircraft, there's a new update on the developer's website: http://tu154.avsim.ru/You get some bug fixes, an updated FDE, some new features and probably the most important new feature for those who really struggle with the Russian language..."english tooltips"!If you don't know this aircraft yet, try it out together with the english manual from Mikealpha (Michael Ackermann), it's a milestone in FS history and so badly overlooked in my opinion. Hi there!Again a probably completely silly question, but I haven't found a solution yet. I'm a more or less absolute beginner and most of the time I just fly "for fun", as I haven't found the time to get into details yet. I particularly like the "Default Dash-8", but when I finally dared to put the realism settigs to maximum, I couldn't get the landing gear down anymore. Retracting the gear after take-off works fine, but no matter at which alt, airspeed or A/P setting it won't get down anymore.I believe that there is a very simple explanation for this, but as you might have noticed, I'm really lacking the very basics of flying...I'd be glad if someone could help me. I just download the An-24RV full version. Let me just say that those guys did a increadable job. Here is my issue though, none of gauges seem to work except for the vertical speed indicator. Does anyone else has this problem? Or it is just me (something I did wrong during installation).

Does anyone out there know what would cause landing AI aircraft's wheels to sink under ground leaving the aircraft taxi to the gate on it's belly (that's how it appears)???All AI aircraft that are already parked at the gates and/or taking off don't have this problem. It's only the aircraft arriving that end up rolling around on their bellies...I tried everything to solve this problem. The airport in question is KSNA by Shez. I had to go in the AB916200.bgl file and lower the airport elevation because all the AI used to sink under the ground. I don't have double AFCAD2 files so I don't understand how everything but landing aircraft understands the airport has a differen…

Just wanted to ask what your favourite panel and sound that you have downloaded off of Avsim?Not sure about panels but my favourite sound package is for the A330 by Andre Silva when combined with the heavy jet rumble available. Probably the best sounding jets in my collection, amazing realism.James D

I remember having downloaded some charts, images actaully showing the preffered routes from for example europe across the atlantic to TNCM and the likes. It also had images of routes from Europe to Asia and Russia. It was made by a german pilot I think. Does anyone have a link to his site...I would really like that.

Hi Guys,Here is a strange problem that I have encounterd. Not sure when it happened or how, but its starting to become annoying now.When i create a flight and then save it and putting a check in the "make this the default flight" for some reason it reverts back to the simulator default flight when i restart the sim.Having it set to Seattle in the Cessna every time i restart the sim is becoming an irritant now!!Looking at the Fs9.cfg, i noticed that it is not writing the path of "my documents" in the situation line, however the the when i do save a flight it does create the .flt and .wx in the Flight Simulator Files in My documents.Anyone know how to possibly fix this? Over the past year I've tried various water textures - some good - some not so good but one thing I've noticed with all of them - they "ripple" too fast. This was particularly noticeable tonight as I was crossing the Bristol Channel - moonlight reflected nicely on the water - but rippling away far too quickly.Is there any way that the ripple speed could be slowed down?Dave

How do I get started flying on line? The home page for AVSIM is so crowdd with stuff I can't navigate. I'm a beginner to online flying and have FS2002 on my PC. Where do I navigate to join some online flying as an observer?

With deep regret I uninstalled the freeware Fokker 70 & Fokker 100 from my computer because I just could not get the panel to work. Anyway I did'nt read the FAQ on Project Fokkers website closely enough regarding their uninstaller:" The Panel uninstall removes the XLMSound.gau and FSSound.dll files. If you have other panels that utilize this gauges and files, please backup these files "Sure enough it faithfully removed them when I ran the uninstall. My fault I know - but how vital are these files to FS2004?...the sim seems to be running fine...Could someone advice?Thank you :)

I think that over the years of the Microsoft flight simulator franchise, there has always been a demand from the community for Microsoft to keep upping the ante on the accuracy of the flight model physics engine. Although Microsoft has created a very powerful simulation, there is a reason that the flight models will never be perfect. First and foremost, is the simple fact that modeled physics is not reality. The problem developed as follows:Made a flight from KLWB to KIAD in the Dreamfleet 737-400 with live FSMeteo weather. As I arrived in the DC area and was setting up for my approach, I had a crash to the desktop (immediately, with no warning, error messages or anything else).I then tried to set up a flight from KMCO to KATL. Good day.I seem to have a dilemma on my hands and was wondering if anyone could help me. This happened in FS2004 about a month ago and I cannot find the solution. The textures on my aircraft (excluding the wings (sometimes) and the tail) fail to show although they are present in the texture folder of my installed aircraft. The stock aircraft are unaffected, but I cannot for the life of me, fix this error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flight Simulator 2004 many times, and I have also tried installing the patch to no avail.All I get is the greyish shape of the aircraft with no textures.Any help will be appreciated.ThanksJason Jones
