I was just wondering what kind of performance you would expect with this system.2.6 GHZ P4 OC'd to 3.1ATI X800 proOCZ I gig 3200I am wondering because i FEEL i should be getting better performance with my current setting. Some thing really BOG down the fps. for eg, i was in CYYJ with a preset weather with lots of clouds, rain. I was getting average of 40-50 FPS. I was saying WOW. BUT then i figured i did not have the PANELASTEXTURE thing going to i set that up. BOOM FPS dropped to average of 24. Now THATS a hit on FPS.

Looks like FsGenesis will be releasing next week a package that will include accurate roads, rails, streams and utility lines. The also have a version for those who already have F-1 USAroads. How does these plane compare if you look at visuals (2D VC) flight model documentation extras. Which one is best? Why?Is there some other similary product that is better?I already got the Katana and SF260 addon and I'm looking for anothersingle engine GA plane for VFR flying but also with some IFR capacity?

I installed the new omega drivers and replaced the cat 4.10's. (yes i installed everything the proper way). BUT i have my omega driver settings the same, AA and AF, as my CAT drivers were. The problem is now that my panels (pss bus and dash 8) have a slight blur to them. my CAT 4.10 has nice crisp panels. Any suggestions?Thx Jack

I'm currently considering both of these products but I was wondering if owners (or developers) of either could clarify a couple of things. First of all, as I mainly fly near Chicago or Fort Lauderdale, I'm having a hard time justifying the purchase of either product as they both seem to cast a "net" over large cities. I realize this is a fault of MSFS and not the add-on, but still, that's how it looks and I usually fly at FL390 so like i said the purchase of either is of questionable use to me. One of the most beautiful man made landmarks in the great wild west. I installed the patch (9.1) a few days ago and continued my ongoing VFR flights in Australia. But now I keep getting the warning message that the Heading Indicator is set incorrectly and to press D. Pressing D does not get rid of the message although, according to the key assignments, that is what D is supposed to do.I checked with my flightsim buddy, who also just installed the patch, and he says he keeps getting the same message.I have not seen any postings to show that anyone else has that problem. I have the Wilco CRJ and it's landing lights are impossibly bright. The taxi lights are a bit better, but still much worse than other aircraft. I checked the aircraft cfg file and found the lighting section, but have no clue how to change the brightness of these Kleig lamps:o The Wilco CRJ forum moderator just said it's an FS problem, but I haven't noticed such an issue with other planes. Any developers out there who could suggest a fix within the cfg? Mike Monce

Hi all,Is there a way to enlarge those signs when they are in view? I am having a hard time finding my way at airports. Having airport charts helps a bit, but you still have to find your way around. My objective is to not rely on going to the top-down view to navigate around.

Has anybody succeeded in this merge (tu154vc.zip)? It includes T.Kokai's Tu-154 model integration with Kolesnik's Tu-154 panel v.9.3 which is supposed to equip it with VC. My question is if you have gauges working both in the panel and VC?Thanks.

Hi. I installed the latest Catalyst 4.9 drivers for my Radeon 9800 Pro (the drivers with the new 'control center' alluded to in an earlier post here). I also installed the FS9.1 patch (and SP2 as well!). Everything is OK, apart from the fact that I now seem to lose my anti-ailiasing with boring regularity. One minute the plane's OK, next it looks like a saw blade. Sometimes reselecting the aircraft helps - other times rerunning FS9, others only a restart of the PC. I have a suspicion that it is to do with low memory, although I have 1024MB DDR RAM (which tests out as working fine when I run a benchmark/RAM tester) and have set 1000MB as a page file: I occasionally get a y…

i have huge problems getting the overcast to work in my fs9. i have talked to Damian and written many entryes in the forum but i have never seen differents peoples settings in fs9 and in activesky. So if you could help me, would i really like YOUR display settings in fs9 and activesky settings...hope you will help!

I just double clicked the (FS 9.1 exe Update) that I downloaded from Microsoft and it loaded successfully, but then when I tried to open FS2004 on my desktop, I got the following message and was unable to open it."The version of FS2004 detected is not compatable with the version of FSUIPC! Can anyone help me locate a sound file that is driving me crazy? It was originally associated (I think?) with one or two (superb!) fighter planes I installed into FS9, but also repeats ad nauseum when I fly a number of jets. The file says: "Terrain! - *bleep* *bleep* - PULL! UP!". This goes on on and on, even when the nearest terrain is thousands of feet below me until I am swearing at the moron to belt up! I've searched the whole FS9 partition (default sound folder and all aircraft sound folders) for .wav files and played half of them (took ages!), but it just doesn't seem to be there. Nor can I see any reference to a terrain warning in any sound.cfg file. Any ideas, so …

I have just been told that my Skyvan package has been uploaded to FSPlanet, not by me, and against the readme file, which states, the package is not to be uploaded to ANY site other than AVSIM.Has anyone managed to get one of their files removed from there?If so, how?CheersDan.

One compromise I had to make was in the stab trim. In order to get the correct readings, I had to limit the travel on the pointer. If you try to trim past the zero index, the pointer will stop and appear to get "stuck". You shouldn't need to trim past that point. Use a setting of 5 for takeoff, 3 for cruise, and 7 or so for landing. Of all the many a/c that I have in my hangar, I am finding that I don't fly Milton's Aero Commander series much because of some rather bad stuttering during turns -- even in rural areas that normally give me quite high FPS.I have tried reducing some of the textures from 32 bit to DXT 3 , but it doesn't improve it much.It is a shame really because of the obvious quality of the whole package(s) -- does anybody else experience this? - are there any fixes?I thought that I remembered something about not using the GPS in the VC -- but other a/c use the GPS in the VC without this problem.Any ideas?Thanks Barry

At the FSGenesis store you can purchase six large sections of 38.2m terrain for the U.S. for $9.95 apiece. It covers the whole U.S. plus part of Canada. However, browsing the Avsim file library, you can download FSGenesis 38.2m terrain for the U.S. as well, albeit in 59 smaller files, but glancing through it looks like it's all there. So the question is what does my $59.70 get me if I get the 38.2m terrain available on the FSGenesis site?

Is anybody out there using the panel light enhancements by Yoo Sang Jun (file is light747.zip) for Ken Mitchell's 747SP panel? If so, can you help me? I cannot for the life of me get the additional icons to appear on the panel and cannot activate the additional light features as a result. There are bmp files inside the GAUGES folder when you unzip this stuff. It's terribly confusing and the txt file isn't clear at all.It might help me to see the file structure of somebody's modified panel folder.Appreciate any assistance, thanks!JS

Hi all,I finally have my system running smooth but I am frustrated because I don't fully understand how to navigate VFR and IFR. Do you use beacons, vors etc? If so, then where do you create your flightplan from or obtain the most efficient way point information?I don't just want to load up my PMDG 737 and type some information into the FMC. I would much pref to fly short VFR flights in the UK and then aircraft like the CPT SIM E3 using manual IFR.I should be receiving my Audio 90 headset soon so I will be able to practice online very soon.Any help would be much appreciated.Thanks
